Congratulations on your special day!

Saying “yes” to God and to His mission is a bold and
wonderful commitment. God has great plans for you.
Trust in Him and He will supply you with enough strength,
courage, peace and love to fill your life and make it whole.

Remember that God’s love for you is unconditional,
everlasting and perfect and I pray that the Holy Spirit will
accompany you and guide you in your journey of growth
and discovery to be a fragrance of His amazing love. God
bless you always!

Dearest Confirmands,

Congratulations!!

It is amazing how time flies and now you
are all heading towards a new chapter in
your life. You have diligently attended
catechism for a dozen years, and, if you
have noticed, your Faith Sharers have
been sharing the same message over and

over again. This message is that you are wonderfully and
beautifully crafted by God, who is Love, and He loves you
entirely, unconditionally, and unceasingly. So again,
congratulations for making this personal decision to stand up
for God and to live your life with Him beside you in every
situation and circumstances. You have decidedly confirmed to
put Him first in your life.

We, the Faith Sharers of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, love
each and every one of you. We have seen you grow, physically
and spiritually, and it is with great joy that we share this moment
with you. We pray that God will always bless you with His Mercy,
His Grace, His Love, His strength, His Courage, His Joy and His
Peace.

MY IDENTITY IN CHRIST

Our dearest confirmands,

We thank God for the gift of all you in our life. The journey
towards confirmation this year was not easy as 90% of the class
was done virtually, but we want to thank you for your commitment
and participation in class.

As you receive this long awaited sacrament we pray you remember
your identity in Christ in all you do especially in times of trials. The
moment you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you were
given a new identity! No it didn’t erase your personality, character,
heritage, or sense of style. But rather, it gave you a make-over in
the form of the Holy Spirit who now lives in each of you. You have
been rescued and redeemed from the power of sin and darkness.
We praise and thank God for that!

I saw, coming on the clouds of
heaven, one like a son of man

I gazed into the visions of the night.
And I saw, coming on the clouds of

‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ Pilate asked.

Profession of Faith by
Candidates

The candles are lighted from the Paschal
Candle

Commentator : We now invite representatives
from the confirmands to light their candle from
the Paschal Candle and pass the light to all their
fellow confirmands.

Commentator : The Celebrant invites the
candidates to renew their Baptismal vows and to
make a profession of faith :-

Celebrant: Dear Confirmands, before you
receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, I invite
you to renew the profession of faith you made in
baptism or your parents and godparents made
for you in union with the whole Church. As a sign
of fraternity, I invite the whole community to be
witnesses of your profession of faith.

Celebrant: Do you reject Satan and all his
works and all his empty promises?

Candidates: I do.

Celebrant: Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth?

Candidates: I do.

Celebrant: Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son,
our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified,
died, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is now
seated at the right hand of the Father?

Candidates: I do.

Celebrant: Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life, who came upon the apostles at Pentecost
and today is given to you in the Sacrament of Confirmation?

Candidates: I do.

Celebrant: Do you believe in the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?

Candidates: I do.

Celebrant: This is our faith. This is the faith of the
Church. We are proud to profess it in Christ Jesus our Lord.

All: Amen.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Laying of Hands
With hands joined, the Celebrant says :

Celebrant: My dear friends, in baptism God our

Father gave new birth of eternal life to his chosen sons

and daughters. Let us pray to our Father that he will

pour out the Holy Spirit to strengthen his sons and

daughters with his gifts and anoint them to be more

like Christ the Son of God.

And now all priests present, together with the
Celebrant extend their hands in silence over the
candidates, then the Celebrant alone prays :

Celebrant: All powerful God, Father of our Lord

Jesus Christ, by water and the Holy Spirit you freed

your sons and daughters from sin and gave them new

life. Send your Holy Spirit upon them to be their Helper

and Guide. Give them the spirit of Wisdom and

Understanding, the spirit of Right Judgement and

Courage, the Spirit of Knowledge and Reverence. Fill

them with the spirit of wonder and awe in your

presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

Anointing with Chrism

Commentator : Each candidate goes to the
Celebrant accompanied by his/her sponsor who
places his/her right hand on the candidate’s
shoulder and gives the candidate’s name to the
Celebrant.

The Celebrant moistens his right thumb with Chrism
and makes the sign of the cross on the forehead as
he says :

Celebrant: N., be sealed with the gift of the Holy
Spirit.

Newly Confirmed : Amen

Celebrant: Peace be with you.

Newly Confirmed : And with your spirit.

Hi Confirmands!


Congratulations on being soldiers of Christ! Even
as you step into this exciting season, may you
always remain childlike in faith and continue to
embody the fruits of the Spirit.

May each of you continue to invite the Holy
Spirit into everything that you do from this
moment on! The Lord is faithful and He will carry
you through it all if only you draw close to Him
day and night. May the glory of God follow you
like a cloud of glory by day & a pillar of fire by
night.

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says
the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for
harm, to give you a future with hope.” ‭Jeremiah‬
2‭9:11

The Lord has so many great things in store for
each of you!

Go forth and be vessels of Christ!

God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit loves
