3. A series of television documentaries have explored options that offer an explanation
for these phenomena based on scientific evidence of the way specific events may
have interacted. In particular, a BBC-TV program about Moses, first broadcast in
December 2002, reported an incident that occurred in New Burn, North Carolina,
in 1999, where there were similar parallels to the river turning to blood and sores
developing on the skin, just as reported in the Bible to have happened in Egypt.
The cause of the North Carolina incident was found to have been a mutation of a
micro-organism called pfisteria caused by pollution from a pig farm.

5. This was presented in a BBC-TV documentary (broadcast July 2001 and September
2002) titled Ancient Apocalypse: The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, where
Graham Harris, a retired geologist, presented a theory based on his geological
knowledge of the area in which the towns once stood. His theory was investigated
by Professor Lynne Frostick, a geologist at Hull University, and Jonathan Tubb
from the British Museum. They were supported in their investigation by Dr. Gopal
Madabhushi at the Centrifuge Lab at Cambridge University.

screened on the History Channel had comments by military historian Julian
Putkowski. The program noted that from the time General Haig assumed command
of Allied forces in 1915, 306 men were executed at the rate of three every two
weeks. Executions continued until two days prior to the Armistice, even though
the Allied Generals knew that a cessation of hostilities was possible. The Australian
government refused to allow their troops to be so treated. No Australians were
executed for the same reasons as the British soldiers were throughout World War I.

Acknowledgments

T he preparation of this book has resulted in much reading on matters that
were originally unfamiliar to me, traveling to other lands, and investigat-
ing history in a way that I had not previously contemplated. It involved locking
myself away with a computer and making endless drawings on graph paper to
either prove or investigate various criteria. All this was over several years,
during which time I put my family at inconvenience on many occasions. I thank
them for their patience and understanding while I indulged my fascination for
what I discovered.

To the members of Saint Cecilia Lodge 1636, I convey my gratitude for the
many hours they endured listening to talks and lectures from me over a ten-
year period, as I explained what I had discovered and gauged their reaction to
the findings. In particular I would like to thank a good friend, and a surveyor
by profession, W. Bro Mike Oulten, who listened attentively to my ramblings
and encouraged me to keep looking. I would also like to thank W. Bro Ron
Cuff OBE, who, along with Mike, felt that I should record my findings in antic-
ipation that they would be of interest and value to others. It was their
encouragement that inspired the writing of this book.

Coupled with this, I would also like to thank the Provincial Grand Master
from the Masonic Province of Sussex for permitting me to take and use a
number of photographs of the Sussex Masonic Temple in this work. I also
thank W. Bro Reg Barrow, Curator of the Sussex Masonic Museum, who was
very patient in commenting on some of my observations, little knowing where
it would end.

Needless to say, the publication of any book involves many people. I thank

Special note: In this book I have made reference to the works of George
Lesser and his investigation through the 1960s of the use of sacred geometry in
the construction of various cathedrals across Europe, in particular Chartres
Cathedral. Efforts have been made to locate the publishers of his works,
Tiranti, to gain approval to use certain illustrations, but to no avail. It seems
that the Tiranti publishing enterprise was sold in the 1970s and attempts to
locate who then owned the previously-published works have resulted in silence.
I therefore apologize in advance for any inconvenience the subsequent use of
