Being ice cream lovers, the family couldn’t

Vedra Beach. Jason decided the family needed
to open one. He did what most do these days
when they want to learn about something and
researched the internet. He found a guy that

BMC RETIRES JERSEY #23
BO CLARK ‘75

Bo comes from a strong pedigree of basketball knowledge: his older brother
Mike attended FTU (now known as UCF) and played for legendary coach and
father Torchy Clark. His uncle Jim coached here at BMC from 1966 to 1970
and is the namesake of our annual Holiday Basketball Tournament. Bo and his
siblings attended BMC: Tom ’73, Bobby ’77, and Patty ’79.

While at BMC, Bo played for Coach Bill Lowry during his 4 years. His freshman
year, Bo played on both the freshman and the JV teams. During his sophomore
year, the Hornets won the district championship with a record of 20-10. Bo averaged
16.7 points and 3 assists per game that year. He was All Metro Conference,

All Region and 3rd team All State, and made the Sentinel All-Star
Tournament team.

Junior year brought another district championship with the same
20-10 record. Bo averaged 21.2 points and 4 assists per
game. He was named All-Metro Conference, All Region, and
2nd team All State. He was named to the All Central Florida
1st team and the Ocala Star Banner All-Tournament team.
He had a career high 44 points against Oak Ridge.

Bo’s senior year, he averaged 25 points per game while the
team had an 8-18 record. He was again named All-Metro
Conference, All Region, and 1st team All State. He was also named
1st team All Central Florida.

He finished runner up to future NBA star Darryl Dawkins in the Orlando 1-on-1
contest 20-12 and advanced to the region 1-on-1 along with Dawkins. He had
offers from University of Florida, Stetson, Providence and South Alabama, but
chose to play for his father at UCF.

Bo earned his Master’s degree from UCF and currently lives in St Augustine with
his wife Nancy. He spent the last 31 years as the head coach for Flagler College
men’s basketball program, retiring at the end of the 2016-2017 season.

Bo had a stellar career at UCF from 1975–1980. UCF was 88-20 during his career and he owns
13 individual and career records for the Knights.
He was a 3-time NCAA Division II All-American.
UCF was nationally ranked in D II all four years
He is UCF’s all-time leading scorer with 2,886 he attended and ranked #1 in 1979-80.
