What is a musical

A musical is when you are acting, singing, and dancing. When you are in a
musical it takes a lot of responsibility. Most musicals take place on a stage but
there are some that are movies. Most musicals are also live at a theater with a
live audience but some can take place on TV or as a movie. When you are in a
musical you have to go to rehearsals to prepare for the show! The week before
the show is called tech week. Tech week is when you are working with costumes,
props, lights, and sound.

Preparing to go on stage

When your getting ready for a performance there are lots of steps to take. First, you
need to get into costume. Next, you need to get hair and makeup done. After that you need to
get a mic if you have one, you can't do makeup over the mic. Sometimes you may have to take
a patch of makeup off for the mic tape to go on depending on what kind it is. Then, you have to
set up your p rops and q uick changes if you have any. Finally, wait for the stage manager to
call places and go to your spot.

Musical VS. Play(compare and contrast)

The difference between a musical and a play is that a musical has
lots of music and a play doesn't. A play has no dancing and a musical
does. They both involve acting and dialogue. And both usually take place
on a stage. They both have a cast but the cast size can change depending
on what show you do. Both a musical and a play have a director and most
of the time stage crew.

Broken mic

In a musical the leads have microphones. So what would happen if
you forgot to put on your microphone? If you forget to put on your
microphone you wouldn't be able to be heard by the people in the back
rows. And if you can't project then you definitely wouldn’t be heard. You
might also sound weird because you are used to having a microphone so
you are probably used to not having to project a lot. But if you do have your
microphone it still could break or the battery could run out in the middle of
the show.

Not enough mics

In theatre, there can be a lot of problems but there are solutions to
those problems too! One problem might be that there are not enough mics.
One solution to this would be that you can have people switch mics and
that is called a mic change. Or if there are still not enough you could have
some people not have a mic and just project. Intermission is a good time to
change mics. Or maybe you someone has to die or something like that
where they don't come back on the stage they could change their mic with
someone who only comes on after them.
