It was on January 13, 1913, 110 years ago, our great sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded by 22 illustrious college women who had the betterment of the community on their minds and the love for service in their hearts. The nine South Florida chapter chairs and co-chairs are confident that, at the conclusion of the program, you will be strengthened in your commitment to service and energized to uphold the mission of our great sorority, Delta Sigma Theta. Under the theme: “Good Trouble: One Delta, One Voice, One Movement”, let us leave today with sisterly love in our hearts. Heartfelt thanks to the Tri-County Founders Day Committee Members for their overall spirit of excellence in the planning of this observance. It was true sisterhood in action. This was a wonderful opportunity to meet sorors from nine chapters or rekindle old friendships in the spirit of sisterhood. How good and how pleasant it is for sisters to dwell together!! Dr. Kay Williams-Dawson is the Senior Pastor of the Cathedral of Praise Church in Miami, FL. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, she is the founder and CEO of Cathedral House, Inc., a social services agency providing counseling, anger management and parenting classes along with supervised visitations for the 10th and 11th Judicial Circuit Courts. Dr. Dawson is the Program Manager for DREF Research Matters for All of Us, the Immediate Past President of the Miami Alumnae Chapter and the Southern Regional Chaplain for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Because of her love of “Women’s Causes”, she is a member of the Metropolitan Dade County Section of NCNW and the Chaplain for the Southern Pearls Chapter of TLOD. She was recently appointed to the Miami-Dade County Interfaith Advisory Board by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
