Back in my Junior year of high school I didn’t really know what I wanted to study in college. I was thinking of doing something with coding but I felt that it would be too stressful and time consuming. I thought my senior year would be exactly the same as the previous years where I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life but it was not what I expected. Around the start of senior year I realized that I wanted to study something related to animals. I went snorkeling during the summer and I enjoyed that so I am now thinking of doing something with marine biology. Near the end of senior year I got my open water diving certification which I never even imagined doing last year. The two classes I wanted to take, marine biology and computer science A, were cool. I didn’t expect to be able to go to grad bash with my friend from another school. Other than that my senior year was about the same as the other years. Reflecting on this year
May 2, 2023 Dear Mateo, Hey! We’ve been friends for over 10 years now and I just wanted to thank you for always being there for me. We haven’t hung out too much these past years since high school started. But when we did, it was always a blast. We went to grad bash together which was epic. And that Dungeons and Dragons you started is something I look forward to every couple of weeks. I can’t wait until you get the open water diver certification in the summer so we can do some scuba diving together. Once again, thank you so much for everything you’ve done. Sincerely, Nicholas Macias
Bad Memory Back in 3rd grade I had a teacher that was always mean to me for some reason. Everyone thought she was a funny and nice teacher. But, for some reason she would always get me in trouble for the smallest things. One time I yawned and she pulled me in front of the class to complain about it. But one time when she was trying to be funny she came up to my desk and threw all my stuff on the floor. She had then got my pencil and snapped it in half. I started crying and said it was my favorite pencil while everyone else was laughing. I don’t remember what the joke was or what happened afterwards. I just know I was really sad after that. From this experience I learned that some people will just dislike you no matter what you do. You can’t change how people think about you sometimes.
The Future For the most part high school went exactly as I thought it would. I guess my only fear was that people would think I’m weird but I don’t think that was the case. I was mainly looking forward to graduating high school and making some friends. I haven’t made any really big decisions during high school so the biggest decision would probably be not trying to make friends. I’m not sure if it was the right decision. My plans for the future would be finding a job I like and my own home. I would also like to finish the game I’ve been working on some time in the future. Getting better at playing the drums is another thing I would like to do. Though I have a very long term plan for the future which is making some sort of wildlife rehabilitation center.
