expressing,

All with magically sewed words and their

rhythm,

For poets, every breath carries a poem.

PREFACE


Every day, when I open my eyes in the
morning, I say ‗Alhamdulillah‘ which means
―Praise be to God‖. I thank the Almighty for

blessing me with another day on this beautiful
earth. I wander through my thoughts, and realize
that some days take us closer to our dreams
while other days inflict pain on us. There are

nights when I have retired to the bed with moist
eyes and an aching heart. There are mornings

when I have jumped out of the bed with a bright
smile. There are days when I have wished that
the happy moments lasted a little longer.
Nevertheless, nothing lasts forever, but life gets

better each day. Happiness and grief are not
straight lines. In fact, all our emotions are waves
with highs and lows. When we accept these

variations, it makes every day special, exciting
and pleasant.


Life is a self-discovering journey and its
beauty relies upon our thoughts, actions, and
vision. Only when we look beyond the darkness
of our lives, we can see the beautiful sunshine of

joy. When there is positivity within us, it reflects
in the lives of the people around us. It helps us

find happiness in every situation.

Our wisdom opens the door to the world

of opportunities. Love, compassion, and
understanding define our relationships. The
bonds we make mold our lives. A departed soul
may shatter us, but a caring person can heal us.


Poetry is a magical flow of beautiful
thoughts and ideas. Expressing deep emotions

and conveying the messages in a profound form
becomes possible through poems. It also teaches
us to look at the dark clouds of life by admiring

its silver lining.

I have always loved writing poems. It

helps me connect with my inner self and
understand my thoughts better. I believe that it is
a God given ability, a talent that I was born with.


Like our lives, rhythm and harmony are
also the bases for poetry. When the heart and
mind are in harmony, thoughts bloom in rhythm.

Our lives become the muse of the poems that we

write. This book is a collection of poems and
quotes that I wrote throughout these years.


For a person who has faith in the creator
& in himself, life is a beautiful story. Even when

we don‘t understand some of its chapters and
everything may feel imperfect and messed up,
we must be assured that everything is perfectly
scripted by the greatest author.


The beauty of life depends upon various
aspects that are interrelated and equally

important.

Life is the greatest of all gifts. For this

reason, I have called this book ‗Sila‘ – which
means ‗gift‘ in Hindi.

To the almighty, who has scripted my life
so beautifully and given me infinite blessings.

To Ashraf Abbas Ali,my father, my

biggest role model and strength. He has taught
me all the values of life and has given me the
best of everything. His life is a synonym for

selflessness, generosity and simplicity. He isn‘t
around, but his presence is felt every time.


To Late B.M Hasan Hajee,HH & Co. and
Late Judge U Hamabba, my grandfathers who
have been an inspiration & blessing to me and
many others out there.

Hopes and waits patiently

HE SAYS "BE"


I looked at the mountain of my dreams and
sighed,

Feeling hopeless and helpless, I cried.


I questioned my mind for building it so
thoughtlessly,


When achieving it was impossible, definitely.




My directionless soul feared,


My mountain of dreams shattered,

But my heart calmly whispered,


"Your dreams may be big, but for the one who
grants them, they are nothing at all!"


When HE says "Be", it will surely be.

He has promised: "I'll give you, ask me.‖

I‘m weak, my fears are plenty,


But my faith is stronger, because

He is the Almighty!




It‘s soothing to live with this faith,


But we are ignorant, we fear, we break.

His promise is "Ask and I shall give you‖,


So why do we fear,


If He wills, all dreams come true.

Physical, emotional, intellectual & spiritual.

Spiritual change must be first strived for,


Because with it comes emotional maturity &

emotional control,


& with all these in perfect coordination, physical

Don't fuss,

Don’t worry,


Just smile & stay calm

And watch life unfold all that's meant for you.

UNKNOWN HAPPINESS


Behind that unknown happiness in your heart &
plenty of blessings in your life,

Lies the sincere prayers of hearts that really

care for you,

And the prayers of those beautiful souls in whose

lives you’ve made a difference.

WANDERER


Not knowing the path,

I'm just walking where you are taking me.


Lost all hopes,

Now, you are the only hope for me.




A wanderer in the dreams of life,


An ignorant of wishes,


Searching for the real purpose,

Trying to understand the true meaning of life.


Wrong doesn't thrill me,

Right doesn't stay still in me,


Neither here nor there,

I don't know what you have planned for me!

Trusting you is all that I have done,


Walking the way you showed me.

Accepting the things as they are,


Because I know, only you know what's best for
me.


Oh, Almighty, hold me like you always did,

Don't let me down, I know You never will...


I trust that, only dreams good for me you will
fulfil.


Open my eyes only to what you want me to see.

ART OF PATIENCE

The feeling of hopelessness,


Is the test of faith.

It is the time we strengthen our faith and learn,


The art of patience.

It is not easy,


but it is the noblest of all traits.

I SEEK YOUR FORGIVENESS


Oh, Creator,

Help me to stay away from the things you said
"No" to,


Help me get closer to the things you said "Do",


And when I'm lost in the beauty of this
mesmerizing world,


Remind me that it is nothing but a lie.




I commit a hundred sins,

But your forgiveness comes in a thousand folds,


Now my heart repents for every wrong action,

I‘m thankful that you‘ve kept it alive with

regrets and realization,

and have not made it dead with ignorance.


Let me not to be that doting sinner relying on
your forgiveness every single time,

Rather make me among those slaves of yours,
who stay away from wrong, and constantly have

you in their heart & mind.




When it gets hard to remain steadfast with your
commands,


Remind me of the rewards you‘ve kept for your
loyal slave,

Remind me that no one except my good deeds,


Will follow me to my grave.




Forgive me, please do forgive me,


Your forgiveness is the only way I can be set
free,


From all those countless sins done by me.

Guide me, please guide me,


In this world of countless mesmerizing lies,

Only with your guidance, the truth I can see.

DEAR HEART


Please learn to stay calm and mildly happy,

"Extreme happiness", – is not for this world.


Please don‘t befriend loneliness,

For, you are not alone, your creator himself is

taking good care of you,

Please don't get attached to anything or anyone,


Here nothing is promised, nothing is permanent,

Please don't give space for hatred or jealousy,


They will destroy you completely.

Just stay pure & true,


That‘s the only way peace will be gifted to you.

Please don‘t expect anything,


That's the road to disappointments,


Please don't lose hope,

Without it, you will be weak.

Please have loads of faith,


With it, you`ll have everything,

& you will never be lost.

THE JOURNEY


There were no confusions, no cautions,

The road I took, was free from diversions.


All through the journey,

Destiny was giving me clear directions.




I travelled far without fear,


And I knew the destination was near,


There were just a few miles ahead,

And the journey would come to a beautiful end.




On the way, its directions abate


I questioned Destiny: "Why did you forsake?"

It replied "Look ahead, my dear,


now you have diversions to take!‖

I asked: "Now whose directions should I
abide?"


Destiny replied: "Now you are your own guide,

Your hearts calling will be clearer,


It will make you a happy wayfarer".




Feeling lost I said: "I'm in a quandary,


Please direct me".

Destiny smiled and replied: "It's your journey,


You need to know, you need to go.‖

When I stood at a point which had diversions
ahead,


I looked back at the beautiful straight stretch I
had travelled.


With a mind full of confusions and a heart full of
fears,


My soul searched for answers in the prayers.




Destiny then called out & assured,

―Gain ground without fear


No matter which road you take, goodness will be
there.


Don‘t wait for my direction,

Have faith in your decision


And hope for a beautiful destination.‖

DREAMS


They said: "How can that happen?

Don‘t dream so big,


Life isn't a fairytale".




She replied: "Yes, life isn‘t a fairytale.

Fairytales are written by human beings like me

and you.

But my dreams are prayers that can be accepted

and answered by the Almighty Creator,

If He wills, all my dreams will come true".

INSPIRATION







When positivity sparkles within you,

It radiates in the lives of people around you.



They will look at you and wonder how.


Over and again after being trampled and torn,

You will become that amazing masterpiece,


That their hands can‘t touch & their minds can't
comprehend.




Your battles will help you to conquer,


Something greater than you always wanted.

Your patience will shower you with plenty,


Because you have waited,

You will create a remarkable history,


Because "I don't give up" was the secret in your
story.

When you are let down, smile;


When you lose, continue the race;

When life makes no sense, keep going;


Because Legends have a tough story.

WHEN YOUR WINDS ARE CLIPPED OFF,
FLY


When you feel your wings are clipped off,

And you are bleeding,


When you feel you are caged


And your soul is resisting,

Take a flight with that wound


Wait not for its healing.

And when you fly,


Your wounds will still keep hurting.

But let your dreams keep you going,


Slowly in great heights, you will start soaring

And eventually, success will start smiling...

DARE TO DREAM


You may be living in a hut,

But what's wrong in dreaming of living in a
palace?


You may be riding a bicycle,


But what's wrong in dreaming of driving an
expensive car?




You may be just an anonymous,


But it doesn't mean you can't be famous.

If you think it's impossible,


How can you make it possible?

If you are afraid even to dream about it,


you don't deserve to own it.




If you have condemned yourself to sit on the
throne,

Why do you cry sitting on a chair?


If you really want to succeed,

Then why don't you dare?




You say it's your dream,


Then why don't you see it?

You said it's what you want,


Then why don't you get it?




If you think you can‘t,


You won't!

If you think you are poor,


You can never be a millionaire.

If you think, yours is just an autograph,


So will it be.

It's all in the mind.


You end up being what you think you are.

If you have the courage to dream,


Then surely success isn't far.

Because, ―Dreaming big requires courage


Not capacity,

Courage gives birth to capability.‖

DEAR PAIN


When my world was bright,

You switched off the light.


When I carelessly sat on the branch,

You cut it off and told me "fly!"




As darkness prevailed, I wondered "why?"


It seemed reasonless for taking away my smile
and letting me cry.


"All that happens – happens for good", – they
said


But for me, it just made no sense.




Dear pain, today as I step into the brighter side
of life with progress,


I realize, you took away the good from me to
give me the best!

Yes, you did cut down the branch that I had
clung to


And let me not rest,

But all this was to help me fly high


And bask in success!

I WILL FLY


Every bird that flew high,

Started off with doubt on its wings,


A little fear in the heart

And the strong belief that


"No matter what, I will do it,


I will fly".

LIFE IS GETTING BETTER


A Hundred promises to self –

"I won't hurt you again"


And then wiping off your tears, you said the
same all over again.


"I'll heal your heart",

Now that was just another broken promise,


"Ok, from tomorrow",

Yet another pending saying!




Now does that mean you are never going to do

it?

Does that mean, you are never going to heal?


Does that mean you are never going to change?

Oh, not at all!


With every decision to move forward, you‘ve
begun the journey,

With every promise you made to self, you‘ve
stepped up a little more,


Not accomplished, true.

But at least it‘s not as worse as feeling hopeless

& deciding to remain there forever!




Every bruise is carving you,


Every situation is making you stronger

Every regret is making you wiser,


Don‘t worry! The truth is every single day

―Life is getting better.‖

Every soul fights a battle

To achieve the victory of "goodness"


Overcoming the bruises of failure.

This victory isn't "one time"


It comes with continuous daily progress

Aiming towards betterment


Seeking all forms of development.


Only in its achievement,

The soul finds real contentment.


Like any other battle

The battle of change too comes with hard work,
sacrifices and dedication


But when you win against "I can't", "it's hard &
impossible", the battle becomes easy


And the happiness of victory is real.

THE DOOR IS NOT LOCKED


A glance at the closed door

Conveys: "you can't get through".


Don‘t turn back and leave.

For you never know if it‘s just shut for all others


But waiting to open up for you.




Knock once, maybe it will open!


If not, do it again.

It may be taking a little time,


But without knocking, don‘t go back in vain.




A slight push is also fine,

What‘s life if you haven‘t tried?


Don‘t just glance at the shut door,

Because without an attempt, everything is
denied!




The door that looks closed,


May open up to a million good things,


Walk up to it; it is just closed,

The door isn‘t locked!

PART - 3




WISDOM




Don’t try to conquer and control your thoughts,

it's going to lead to mental conflicts. Instead, try
to befriend them so that you can have pretty
good negotiations with them and ask the

negative ones to stay away and the positive ones
to radiate and flow.



Money and worry adhere,


Talents with expectation,

One thing with the other.




The birds may have wings to fly,


But the hunter has an arrow.

The poor man does not have to worry about the

safety of his money,

But worries about the morsel of food he would

get tomorrow.




It is the law of nature:

Every person has his share of worries,


Its magnitude may differ,

But no man is entirely happy,


How could he even be so..

THE RESTLESS MIND


When escaping from the internal struggle seems
easier,

The external world is ready with a war.


Loosing is just not acceptable,


Even the thought of it makes you mad!




The mind is starving,

The eyes are simply crying,


Searching for peace,

Really needing it.


Problems may be small,

Solutions still easier


Yet everything seems unmanageable,


The world looks dark.

The mind is small,

But when it is restless, it is cruel.


It tramples the world,

shatters the dreams,


JUST WITH A THOUGHT.
