Leo thrives outdoors and benefits from the
daily routine of beginning his session outside.
He explores a wide range of experiences and

will wear the required outdoor clothes with
support from an adult to get dressed.

Bundle 6 - I understand and follow simple instructions.

Leo has an interest in books and nursery rhymes. One

of his favourites is ‘Incy, Wincy Spider’, Leo can point

to key word provided in the book when asked and fill in

the missing word of the rhyme when prompted.  Leo

was practising putting the spider in and on the spout

following demonstration from an adult. .

Leo also has interest in ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.

He pointed to a range of foods when prompted.

excellent opportunities to introduce

simple instructions and develop
understanding of words in a

meaningful context. “Leo up the
steps” “Leo down the slide”.

opportunities.  An adult demonstrates a
technique alongside introducing a word
eg. “stamp”. Leo imitates the action and
hears the word repeatedly to make the
