System Operation/Flex Adjustment
The Sm;)e Perfected light features unique
positioning technology.
The upper and lower flex sections utilize three
different flex materials working together to
provide angular and azimuth adjustments that
allow you to position the light head is an
infinite number of positions and do so without
drooping or slipping.
Up/Down Angle
Use the lower flex section to achieve the bulk
of your desired up or down angle. Place one
hand on the clamp while gently pushing the
control housing up or down to the desired
angle. You can fine tune the up/down angle
with the upper flex section by grasping the
front of the control housing and gently
pressing the light head up or down to achieve
the desired position.
Rotation Angle
The light is specifically designed to fit the
shape of the lens/mouthpiece. For the best
fit, the rotational angle of the light head
should be parallel to the plane of the
mouthpiece. To adjust the rotational angle,
gently grasp the light head and the upper flex
section and twist the flex tube to the desired
angle.

System Operation
White Light/Blue Light
The light emits two light spectra. There is one for teeth whitening and the other for shade guide
matching for before and after differences.
430-470nm “Cool Blue Light” for Sm;)e Perfected™ Teeth Whitening
The “Cool Blue Light” emitted by the light is the ideal spectrum for energizing and accelerating the active
ingredients in the Sm;)e Perfected Whitening Gel. When exposed to moderately high amounts of light in
the 430 to 470-nanometer spectrum, these active ingredients accelerate their release of hydroxyl
radicals, which act to break down stains on tooth enamel.
The whitening mode is selected by setting the timer to the desired treatment duration (typically 20
minutes) and pressing the start button, assuring the light is emitting blue light only.
55000K White Light for Consistent and Accurate Shade Matching
The Sm;)e Perfected™ light emitting diode is specifically engineered to produce white light, which
replicates daylight (color temperature 50000 Kelvin) so your shade guide matching is accurate and
reproducible regardless f the ambient light.
To put the light into shade matching mode, press the Blue/White button until the white light is
illuminated. To return to the whitening light mode, press the button until the blue light is illuminated.
Test Mode
Two presses from the blue light will activate the test mode. It is used to check that the light is working in
both spectra.

The Sm;)e Perfected™ Whitening Process
Sm;)e Perfected™ is the most advanced smile rejuvenation treatment system available. It will make your
smile fresher, brighter and whiter. It is decidedly and distinctly different from other whitening systems
because it delivers better results more rapidly and with greater safety than other less advanced
methods. The Sm;)e Perfected™ process harnesses patented technologies borne out of a million dollar
research and development program including:
1) An impregnated Sm;)e Perfected™ silicon tray designed for unprecedented penetration of
hydrogen peroxide into the tooth enamel. The silicon tray also causes the hydrogen peroxide to
release at a more uniform rate over time. This acts to eliminate the tooth sensitivity typically
associated with other power and take-home whitening systems. It also conforms to the shape
and position of your teeth even better than other products.
2) The Sm;)e Perfected™ Light: A State-of-the Art cosmetic light that accelerates the whitening
process through interaction with the silicone tray and the pre-loaded gel, which is a pH stabilized
whitening gel. The light uses advanced light-emitting diode (LED) technology, which is more
effective and vastly more efficient than older, incandescent technology. The Sm;)e Perfected
advanced light design does not require fans or other forced cooling systems or methods
associated with older technology.
3) The advanced design of the Sm;)e Perfected™ light used with the light head case to about 1200F
above normal body temperature; the temperature remains at the level through the Sm;)e
Perfected Whitening process. This is the optimal temperature to produce molecular excitation of
the whitening gel through the tray and onto the teeth. It is also cool enough so as not to cause
any discomfort or risk radiant or contact burns typically associated with older technology.
4) The Sm;)e Perfected™ process employs a narrow blue-light spectrum---just what is needed for
acceleration of the formation of hydroxyl radicals from the whitening gel (the hydroxyl radicals
are the components that permeate the tooth enamel and break down stains). This is important,
since with Sm;)e Perfected™ there is no UV light exposure or risk of over heating the teeth, as is
the case with some other whitening methods.
5) A unique light-guiding Sm;)e Perfected™ mouthpiece that disperses blue light over all tooth
surfaces via its built-in optical lens. This technology allows you to close your mouth during the
Sm;)e Perfected™ Whitening procedure and eliminates the need for uncomfortable lip and cheek
retractors. It also acts to create a teeth/tray fit that is actually superior to custom made trays, as
the tray allows for adequate gel.

FAQ’s
How white will my teeth/smile get?
Two layers of tooth structure determine the color of your smile. The lighter outer layer is the enamel and the
darker inner layer is the dentin. The composition of these is determined by genetics and environmental factors
as the teeth are being formed. Your teeth will never be whiter than when you were a child. For most individuals
this is very white. The patented process attacks and removes even deep stains that have accumulated in your
tooth enamel—the light outer layer of tooth structure. As a result, most individuals will experience a significant
improvement. However, no noninvasive cosmetic whitening treatment can whiten your dentin. If your tooth
enamel is unusually thin or translucent or if your dentin is especially dark, you may be able to achieve the level of
brightness you desire without dental veneers placed by a dentist.
White Spots?
White spots represent areas of the teeth where earlier changes in the mineral content have occurred. This
alteration can be caused by genetics, nutrition, poor dental hygiene, or unbalanced fluoride intake during tooth
development. White spots can become evident after orthodontic braces have been removed. The Sm;)e
Perfected™ whitening process can reveal white spots previously hidden by stains. This effect usually fades in 24-
48 hours. Continued use of the Sm;)e Perfected™ whitening pen and regular fluoride therapies, including
brushing with fluoride toothpaste, will usually help remedy the appearance of these white spots.
Dental Restorations?
Sm;)e Perfected™ works best on natural tooth structure. While Sm;)e Perfected™ whitening does remove surface
stains from dental restorations such as crowns, veneers and white fillings, it is not intended to make them
whiter! The color of these structures will remain as they were installed unless they have accumulated stains.
Sm;)e Perfected™ will still give you a brighter overall smile but a dentist should be consulted if you want to
replace the restorations to match the Sm;)e Perfected™ whitened teeth.
Teeth Sensitivity?
Sm;)e Perfected™ technology makes it possible to get excellent cosmetic results without the tooth sensitivity
typically associated with other whitening systems and procedures. However, on a very rare occasion tooth
sensitivity can occur. This is usually a mild and brief side effect generally subsiding in 24-48 hours. Treatment
with an over-the-counter analgesic such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen may provide temporary relief. Normal
gentile brushing with any multi-action toothpaste is recommended. Sensitivity lasting more than a few days may
reveal a dental condition that you should bring to the attention of your dentist.
Blanching and Irritation?
A slight blanching or whitening of the gum tissue is normal. Usually lasting 30-60 minutes, this blanching
represents a healthy healing phase induced by the antiseptic properties of the whitening gel, which reduces
bacteria levels in the mouth. Patients with gingivitis, periodontal disease (collectively know as gum disease) or
compromised gum tissue may experience some post treatment soreness. Applying a small amount of Vitamin E
oil to the affected areas will accelerate the healing. If significant discomfort is encountered during the
procedure, the patient or dental professional should remove the silicone tray and continue the treatment at
home using only the Sm;)e Perfected™ whitening pen.
Minor inflammation, chapping or irritation of the lips may also occur in very rare cases. This can be treated with
the application of lip balm, petroleum jelly or vitamin E oil. An over-the-counter anti-inflammatory such as
ibuprofen or acetaminophen may be used to provide relief in extraordinary cases where symptoms last more
than two hours; use as directed on the label of the medication.

Appendix
There are NO user-serviceable parts
There are no bulbs or other devices in your light, which will “burn-out”. The Sm;)e Perfected™ advanced light
emitting diode technology outlasts conventional light bulbs to an extreme degree. Should one of the diodes or
any other part of your light ever fail, contact customer service at www.smileperfected.com.
Sm;)e Perfected™ will arrange to repair or replace your light.
Normal Operating Temperature
The Sm;)e Perfected™ advanced design and LED technology of your light allows it to operate without fans or
other forced cooling methods. The extremely efficient thermal design allows the case temperature of the light
head to rise to about 1100F and remain at that temperature as long as the LED’s are illuminated. The
temperature is quite safe and will not deform or affect the clear lens/mouthpiece.
