The library develops and maintains print
and digital information resources to
support teaching, learning and research
activities of the university community.
The collections comprise subjects in civil
engineering, electrical engineering,
mechanical engineering, information
technology, education, management,
science, social sciences, languages, and
self-development. The library has
extensive holdings of about 287, 451
copies of books, 10 titles of printed
journals and 33, 731 units of audio-visual
materials.

The collections are mostly open access.
The collection is classified according to
the Library of Congress Classification
Scheme (LCC).
The digital collection includes 24
databases, 4 e-books services, more than
278 titles of e-journals subscribed by the
library and over 5,000 scanned
documents such as journal articles,
conference papers and exam papers in
pdf formats.

Reference services

Reference services support the university's teaching, learning, and research activities,
by assisting users to build skills in accessing and utilizing the information e ectively.
Users can discuss with the librarian to get some guidance on the information searching
techniques based on the users’ needs.

Information Literacy Skill Class

This class conducted by a librarian specifically on library services and facilities usage.
The discussion topics include materials searching techniques through the library
catalogue and information searching through the online databases.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service which helps users to borrow library materials that are
unavailable in the Tunku Tun Aminah Library but can be obtained from other local
academic libraries and the British Library. Reference materials that can be borrowed
through this service are books, journal articles, and conference proceedings and
standards .

Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI)

This service consists of the latest journal content page and new arrivals listing
dissemination. The latest journal contents page dissemination service is particularly for
academic sta in which the selected digital journal content pages will be composed
directly to the inbox of respective requesters' e-mail. Whereas the new arrivals listing
dissemination service is provided to give alert or current awareness to the users by
compiling and publishing the listing of new materials received.

Library Catalog

The library catalogue OPAC enables users to search the bibliographic records and the
status of library materials. Besides, users can also check their library’s account using these
computers.

Open Carrel

The library provides open carrels especially for users who want to study alone and
need privacy.

Wi-Fi Access
The entire library building is equipped with wireless internet access or Wi-Fi.

Laptop Lock

It is provided to keep users’ laptop safe and secured.

There are 150 units of the computer with

located at Level 2, 3 and 4.

Printing Service

Printing services located at the Circulation Counter, Level 1. Printing charges are RM0.20.

Self Check Out Machine
A self-service machine where’s users can borrow open access books.

2 units of seminar rooms located at Level 3, known as Lestari Room, which is
equipped with LCD projector and white screen. Each room can accommodate
up to 80 users at one time. Reservation can be made at the Circulation
Counter, Level 1.

Al-Shirazi Scholar Room
This room is mainly for postgraduate students and academic sta s.
Located at Level 3.

24 Hours Reading Room
Located at Ground Floor and Level 1. Equipped with study tables, electric
sockets and wireless internet access for user who wish to use this facility during
or after the library's opening hours. Accommodate up to 300 users at one time.

Journal Room
Located at Level 3 and accommodate up to 50 users at one time.

Located at Level 3 which is equipped with LCD projector and white screen. Accommodate up

Tunku Tun Aminah Library. Its operating 24 hours.

Iqra’ Room
118 units of individual carrel rooms provided for those who want more privacy. Located at Level 2
and 4.

Hikmah and Eksplorasi Room

40 rooms for discussion and study groups. Hikmah Room accommodates up to 6 users per session,
and Eksplorasi Room up to 10 users. Network point and electric socket are provided. Reservation can
be made at the Circulation Counter, Level 1.

Information Searching Room
Located at Level 2, provided 50 units of the computer to access the online databases, e-journals,
e-books and library catalogues. Internet searching is allowed for research purposes only.

Each book in the library has a unique call number. A call number is an address that tells you where
a book is placed in the library. It consists of the following information:
