Lord’s Artist: Isha Shrivatsava
messenger!!   ~ By Komal
Mehra

He was sitting down the lane,
under the heavy showers of rain.

draped in torn apparels,
he was singing lonely carols.

his cheeks drenched in tears,
his eyes embraced with fear,
he had no one of his own,
to call his peer.

he just stared at people..
passing by...
he had no word to say,
but to cry.

glaring at him...
i couldn't wait...
faced towards god...
and questioned his fate..
oh lord!!
why is he so lonely,
so forlone..?
why he has no one
of his own?
hearing this...
the poor old man ..
came to me...
and said,,,
"this is what ...
i am to be..."
"this is lord's gift to me.".
"for all that i have with me..
i am really grateful to thee..."

to this ...i had nothing
to say...
but to face towards god...
and thank thee...
for what i am ..

Hello. I am Mahi Verma. I am 9 years old, and
I love running.

I ran my first race when I was four years old. I

have run five 5K races and several 1 mile
races so far.

Some of my very happy moments in life are

when I am jogging alongside my dad. My

daddoo is a good runner.

I am looking forward to the day when I will

run a full marathon (26.2 miles) along with

my dad. I know how proud my dad will feel

that day!!!

school. To solidify her academic accomplishments, Sana was inducted into the National Honors
Society, Math Honors Society - she was elected treasurer, Science Honors Society, and Spanish

Special thanks from Sana Sadikot

ICS has been a part of my life for the past six years. It has taught me many skills
and has left a long lasting impression on me. I have learnt a great deal about Indian
culture and festivals through events such as India Day, Holi, and Dandiya. It has given
me a chance to spread my passion for dance to younger children, because ICS believed
in my skills and in me.

I would like to thank you for the generous scholarship of $250, which I plan on
using to purchase a new laptop to help me with my schoolwork.

I will be majoring in Cell Biology/Neuroscience and minoring in Health
Administration through the Honors Program at Rutgers University. I hope to become a
doctor and I will continue to be an active member in my community in college and
beyond.

Thank you for choosing me as a recipient of the ICS Academic and Cultural
Award in Excellence.

Sincerely,
Sana Sadikot

emotions. So it brings me immense pleasure when I am able to instill
the same emotions onto others. I started dancing when I was three
