The most easily recognized form of sculpting is clay modelling, that is, the crea-
tion of a 3-dimensional piece of art typically using some type of clay. Manipulating
(squishing, squeezing, pulling, pushing, etc) a piece of clay helps develop the child's large
and small muscles – improving dexterity. Fosters hand-eye coordination. Builds a child's
ability to focus his/her attention span. Using dough and playing with others, helps chil-
dren understand the importance of sharing.

A clay modelling competition was conducted on 8th December 2019 for our lovely tiny

tots of BPWS. Students were free to choose the topic for their clay models. They brought
their favourite play dough and worked with the same to make their clay models. The
students participated in large majority and were very excited to play with their clay.

Puppetry as a teaching tool provides teachers with one of the most effective aids in the
classroom. Puppets are a good way to deliver information to students and help them re-
tain it. Using puppets to engage early learners offers multiple benefits across the curric-
ulum and for social/emotional development. Since time immemorial puppetry has prov-
en itself to be a powerful medium of storytelling which not only leaves an impact on the
students but also strengthens their language skills.
Keeping the importance of puppets in mind, a puppet show was organised for the Kin-

dergarten students on 12th December 2019. The story of “The sky is falling” was present-

ed through the puppets. The students were in for a special treat with this puppet show

which captured their attention and opened doors to their imagination. It was a joyful

learning experience for the students of Kindergarten. The students thoroughly enjoyed

watching the story unfolded before them.

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring.
Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, Pearls of BPWS celebrated the festival with enthusi-
asm on December 12th, 2019. The school was beautifully decorated and everybody was
dressed in red, white and green (Santa’s favourite colours). The students sang melodious
carols and danced beautifully to wish their teachers and classmates. The significance of
the festival was explained to the students through the Christmas story. To inculcate the
spirit of sharing the students shared their food with their friends, staff and with all the
caregivers of the school. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the
faces of all the children.

The UAE School Inspection Framework is based on comprehensive performance standards that de-
fine the essential aspects of quality education. Each standard is broken down into specific indicators
and elements, and detailed descriptors and illustrations guide inspection judgements and school im-
provement. Keeping this in mind and to ensure the quality of education and to meet the standards
and criteria’s explained in the Inspection frame work, BPWS conducted a session on the third phase
of Performance Standards that consists of EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT, the class
was taken by Dr. KT Nandakumar, Principal BPWS. He explained about how effective teaching
should be done in class room, and how we can meet and ensure the standard of the expectation of the
inspectors. The important points about the school performance from the point of view of inspection
team was explained. Teacher behaviour, questioning technology, how the teacher is engaging the dif-
ferent level of students, the usage of resources, ICT, were the main focus of the session.

Creating a survey can take a great amount of time. It often involves seeking input and
feedback from many different people to ensure that you are asking all of the necessary
questions. By sharing the views, parents may well be providing useful insights for the
school. ... Using effective channels of communication and getting parents involved in de-
cisions helps to build strong relationships and encourages involvement in the child's
learning and progress. The results can provide valuable feedback and important in-
sights, both of which are necessary to ensure you are providing a service that is valued
by your parents, and prospective parents. BPWS conducted the Parent satisfaction sur-
vey at the end of the first term closing to ensure better understanding about the school
from the parents view point, below is the survey result.
