Grace and Peace to you, Sisters and Brothers!

As you know, I spent the months of August and September meeting with groups from the church
during a series of Listening Sessions at the parsonage. I am still combing all of the great information
that you all were willing to share with me, but I already can tell you that at least three threads of
thought concerning the future of the church have emerged from our time together.

I believe that these themes will provide us some direction as we move into 2020:

A focus on spiritual formation and development, most likely through a series of short-term Bible
studies and small groups.

A clearly defined local mission field and the addition of some outreach efforts in that area.
The development of a culture of generosity to create not just a sustainable budget but to
encourage an increase of trust in the abundance and faithfulness of God in all areas of life.

These are just three ideas of many, and they can take many shapes and will take some time to
develop. Please note that all are in line with the vision statement that was adopted for 2016-2020,
which call for spiritual growth measured by an increase in worship attendance and an increase in
participation in small groups; mission and teamwork, measured by an increase in the number of
people served; an annual review of technology and an increase of awareness of the St. Paul’s
Foundation and the funds available there.

I want to thank all of you who were willing to take a Sunday afternoon to come into my home and
meet with me and all of you who made appointments to meet with me individually. I trust that God
has given each of you dreams and a vision for the future of our church, and I am still open to hearing
those. If you did not have a chance to attend a listening session and you have something to share,
please feel free to call me at (325) 660-5017.

It is important for me that you know that I am accessible to you, especially as the time of Olivia
Kay’s birth draws near. She is due on November 24, and it is likely that my maternity leave will begin
in mid-November and continue through mid-January. My family and I will continue to participate in
the life of the church in many ways during that time, including being present and active on Sunday
mornings as much as possible. We are looking forward to that time of getting settled with our new
addition — and with introducing her to all of you!

But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves yet, my friends! God has much for us to do together in
the next couple of months, and I look forward to every bit of it as we begin taking steps to hit the
ground running in 2020, always pursuing our mission to love God, follow Jesus and serve others!

Much Love, “I trust that God has given each of you dreams and
Pastor Amy a vision for the future of our church…”

Message from the Finance Committee ad hoc team

First, thanks to all who helped, in whatever way you chose, with the Cowboy Gospel Band’s
performance, the dinner the and the auction event. Thank you to the kitchen help and the cooks.
Thank you to the ticket sellers and all of you for purchasing a ticket. Thank you to the ad hoc team.
Thank you to all who brought items for the auction and for all who purchased the items. Thank you
to Pastor Amy for your help with the advertising and to everyone for your prayers. Due to all of your
efforts the event was a big success. We cleared $2,072.50. Again thanks to all for an evening filled
with fun and fellowship. All who stayed to the end discovered that the surprise was a six-quart
freezer of home-made ice cream and after, it was auctioned; all present enjoyed a bowl of it.
Everyone’s participation was greatly appreciated.

DIAPER SHOWER

Baby Olivia Kay Feltz is on her way in just a few short weeks! In preparation for her
arrival, her mom and dad, Pastor Amy and Jason, mentioned that diapers were the
most needed item at this time. So, on Sunday, Nov. 3, between services, in the Nar-
thex, you will have an opportunity to bring packages of diapers or attach gift cards to
the “diaper wreath”, as a “Diaper Shower” takes place. Any size and any brand are ok.
