Grace and Peace to you, Sisters and Brothers!
Once again, when I look back on the previous month, I am amazed at the way God has worked
through the generosity of this congregation. Thank you, all of you, who participated in the food drive
for the St. Paul’s food pantry that takes place on the third Saturday of every month.
I am thrilled at the response from our congregation. Thank you, and thanks be to God!
As we look to December and the Advent and Christmas seasons, we find much that much more soul
nourishment awaits us.
First of all, I hope you will take some time to look at the Giving Tree that will grace our Narthex
on the first Sunday of Advent, December 1. That tree serves as invitation to purchase gifts for boys
and girls, ages 2-10, whose families seek assistance at our food pantry.
If you discern that God is calling you to participate in this Giving Tree effort, I ask that you bring your
gifts, unwrapped, to the church by December 15. You are welcome to donate wrapping supplies, as
well, for our clients to wrap the gift they have chosen.
The coming weeks will bring us many chances to celebrate God’s faithfulness as we serve those in
our community and as we worship together in these seasons of preparation and celebration. I
especially hope you have marked your calendars for our children’s Christmas program, which will
take place on December 8 at 10:30 AM. We will worship in one service that day and enjoy cookies
and hot chocolate after the service concludes, so bring a dozen of your favorite cookies to share!
On December 15, our Chancel Choir will present a beautiful cantata in the 9:30 AM service, and the
contemporary service will take place as regularly scheduled at 11:30 AM, so invite your friends to
both!
Feel free to issue invitations to our Christmas Eve service as well, which will take place on Tuesday,
December 24, at 5 PM. This candlelight service will include traditional lessons and carols, special
music presented by our Chancel Choir and friends, a celebration of Holy Communion and the
baptism of our very own Olivia Kay Feltz by the Rev. Dr. Eddie Rivera.
It is sure to be an evening to remember as we all exclaim together, “Joy to the World!
The Lord is Come!”
Much Love,
Pastor Amy
