Lesson 8: Account History / Closed Trades
This tutorial will give you a better understanding of how to manage your trades and
how to monitor your closed trades.
All your closed trades are listed in the terminal window section and the account
history tab.
When you right click, you will see a drop-down menu that will help you to organize
this section of MT4. You can choose from any of the four options available to view a
specific time frame. At the bottom of the drop-down menu you can adjust the
columns to display your closed trades.
The most useful feature of this tab panel is the facility to generate reports. You can
run a report for any time frame you require and save it for future reference.
The report comprises three basic sections. In the closed transaction section you can
get an overview of all the trades closed for a certain daily or monthly period of time.
The open trades section displays all the positions that were active when the report
was generated. The third section is called working orders; it shows all the pending
orders that have been placed and have not yet expired. You will learn about pending
orders in another tutorial session.
If you need a summary of your account statistics - such as withdrawals and deposits
- you’ll find it at the bottom of the report; it also shows the time frame.
The profit and loss of closed trades are abbreviated to P/L - as well as the floating
profit and loss of your active trades. The equity of your account can also be seen; it
is calculated according to the formula: Balance + / - Floating P/L + Possible Credit
Bonus, along with margin and free margin.
