IN LOVING MEMORY A TRIBUTE TO A PASTOR REV. ANDREW D. NANCE He was a man of God who stood tall and true. Endeavoring with every breath to do whatever our Father told him to do. He faithfully taught us the wonders of God’s word, he prayed for the nations and leaders and his church family too, because he knew it would be only God who can bring us through. Oh, how grateful we are for our Pastor, now in the presence of the Master. We will be so happy to see him when we get home too. So, we can thank him again, for the role he played in our lives and showed us what to do. We are extremely grateful that God shared you with us for a season. Though we bow to His will now that you’ve left this earthly home, and we know that HIS timing is for a reason. Lovingly submitted, Delores Williams

1 st Lady Chestina Nance A Limb Has Fallen A limb has fallen from the family tree, I keep hearing a voice that says “grieve not for me, remember the best times, the laughter, the songs, the good life I lived when I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Continue transition no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls. I love you all dearly, so keep your chin up, until that day we are together again.” Loving Submitted, Delores Williams & family Andrewnette Davis Your life was a blessing, your memories a treasure, you are loved beyond words, missed beyond measure. You may be gone from my sight, but you’re not gone from my heart. I will hold you in heart until we can hug in heaven. Loving Submitted, Delores Williams & family Deacon John C Davis A token of Love & Remembrance To the one we will never forget, his memory to us is a treasure, his death a lifetime of regrets; Miss you forever and always. Loving Submitted, Delores Williams & family

Walter Green Church Organist You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You. 29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 118 28-29 Loving Submitted, Delores Williams & family Tina Green In Loving Memory Those we love don’t go away they walk with us everywhere, unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear. Loving Submitted, Delores Williams & family Grace Johnson Remember I’m there in your Heart I know there is sorrow where laughter once played and lingering tears causing gladness to fade but there’s a sweet comfort our memories impart. So always remember I’m there in your heart. Loving Submitted, Delores Williams & family

In Loving Memory My Dear Aunt Hortense Cannady I FIND GREAT PLEASURE IN REMEMBERING MY AUNT HORTENSE CANNADY ON HER CHURCH’S 100TH ANNIVERSARY SHE MAY NOT BE HERE PHYSICALLY, BUT HER SWEET, SWEET SPIRIT IS. ONE THING I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL WOMAN OF GOD, IS HER SMILE. I HAVE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS THAT; ONLY JESUS CAN GIVE YOU JOY. MY AUNT HORTENSE HAD JOY, JESUS PROMISED IT, AND HE DELIVERED. HE NEVER PROMISES HAPPINESS, HAPPINESS IS AN EMOTION. HE PROMISED HER HAPPY DAYS, AND I TRIED MY BEST TO SHARE HAPPY MOMENTS WITH HER. MY AUNT AND I TRAVELED TOGETHER, WENT TO CHURCH TOGETHER AND WE DINED OUT TOGETHER. I HAD HER DOING THINGS SHE DIDN’T EVEN LIKE; DRINKING COFFEE AND EATING CABBAGE, SHE WOULD SAY, “GIRL ONLY YOU COULD GET ME TO DO THIS,” AND LAUGH. THE MOST PRECIOUS MOMENT WITH HER WAS AT MY YARD SALES. SHE SAT WITH ME FOR HOURS, AND I WOULD HAVE NO SALES, SO SHE WOULD TRY TO PURCHASE STUFF TO HELP. I LOOKED IN HER EYES AND TOLD HER, “ITS NOT ABOUT MY SALES, IT’S ABOUT MY QUALITY TIME WITH YOU.” REST ON MY PRECIOUS AUNT HORTENSE, YOU CAN EAT ALL THE CHEESE PUFF YOU WANT NOW. I WILL FOREVER BE THANKFUL FOR THE TIMES WE SPENT TOGETHER. I KNOW YOU KNEW HOW SPECIAL YOU MADE ME FEEL, BECAUSE I TRIED TO MAKE IT CLEAR EVERYTIME WE WERE TOGETHER. LOVE YOUR NIECE, DOLLENE

A LETTER OF LOVE TO MOUNT CHURCH BAPTIST CHURCH As we embark on our 100th Church Anniversary here at Mount Hope; I give all praises to our Lord and Savior for Blessing me with my father, Flint Dock Hunt, Sr., Aunt Lula Hunt, Uncle Jeff Hunt, Sr. for caring for me enough to bring me to church and introducing me to our Lord and Savior at a young age. I am committed to Mount Hope as a member. Fellowshipping and praising our Lord and Savior. As an adult I was baptized, saved, and brought my children. My children were also members of Mt Hope. God called my youngest daughter home (Sierra Ward) the love of my life. Later in the pandemic he called home my nephew Shawn Hunt, sister Kimberly Hunt and last but not least, my amazing mom Dorothy Hunt. Lord thank you for this amazing Journey and placing these amazing people in my life. Never to be forgotten! Love Forever, Tonia Hunt Until we meet again! Our Eternal Father called our father, mother, brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew and cousins’ home to Glory. Truly you are missing from our circle of love until our Heavenly Father calls us home to rest. Rest in Paradise until we meet again. Lovingly Submitted, Doris Hunt

IN LOVING MEMORY IN LOVING MEMORY “Mother Alberta Hope” Lead Me Guide Me Lead me, guide me along the way For if you lead me I cannot stray Or just open my eyes that I may see Lead me oh Lord Won't you lead me? I am tired and I need thy strength and power To guide me over my darkest hour For just open mine eyes that I may see Lead me oh Lord Won't you lead me? Lead me, guide me along the way Lord if you lead me I cannot stray Or just open mine eyes that I may see Lead me oh Lord Won't you lead me? Lead me oh Lord Wont't you lead me? The Broken Chain We did not know that day, that God was going to call your name In life we loved you dearly and in death we do the same That day, It broke our hearts to lose you, you didn't go alone, for apart of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you are always at our side, Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again “GOD IS LOVE” 1Corinthians 7 7-13 With Love, Delores, August, Janet, Valerie & Family

Hortense, a great soul like yours never dies, it lives on in my heart. You were a blessing in every sense of the word. It feels like much longer than it actually has been, and yet that is still too long. I love you as if you were still here with me, laughing during good times and crying during the bad ones. I miss being able to talk to you first thing in the morning and last thing at night about God, our family, friends and the different occurrences we encountered on this journey called life. countless others will concur. It was a privilege having shared my life with you. Your light shines on, and your presence is eternally near. Rest In Peace, sister, my friend, my deepest love to the sky I send. Love, Alice Trying to express my grief is so hard to put into words, and farewell is too final. Nothing could ever cut so deep as this aching that I feel, but one comforting thing is knowing that you are watching over me and that we will meet again. My love is eternal. Hortense I was truly blessed to have had a sister like you and
