years of enjoying the "Motown Sound. “Prior to bringing his
talents to Detroit, Duncan was a sports anchor and Reporter at

broadcasting career began in 1978 in Baltimore, Maryland, at
the Veterans Hospital. It was there that he developed his on-

experience helped him land a spot doing Sports at WEAA-FM
on the campus of Morgan State University under the watchful
eye of legendary Hall of Fame broadcaster Larry Dean. Ronnie
got his television break in 1983 at WJZ-TV in Baltimore as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor.
Since that time his broadcasting journey has taken him to multiple spots including Phoenix, Arizona,
Indianapolis, Indiana, Columbus, Ohio, and Cleveland Ohio. Throughout his career, Ronnie has been

coverage of the infamous Flint water crisis, Ronnie was granted an exclusive one-on-one interview with
former Gov. Rick Snyder from his apartment. That along with other breaking news stories lead to WNEM
receiving the Associated Press award for Outstanding Coverage of the crisis. Throughout his career,
Ronnie has maintained a desire to give back to the community he serves and he plans on becoming a
familiar face throughout Southern Michigan and beyond. He volunteers and does charitable works with
the Epilepsy Foundation, The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Veterans Administration, The Boys & Girls

51st Year of the Varsity “M” Club

The Varsity “M” Club, Inc., Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1971 to recognize and honor former
student athletes, coaches and administrators who have made extraordinary contributions to the Morgan
athletic program. To accommodate the absence of a category for team accomplishments, the Varsity “M”
Club and the Morgan Department of Athletics partnered in 2016 to establish the Varsity “M” Club Athletic
Hall of Fame Team of Distinction Award to acknowledge entire teams that have made outstanding
achievements in athletics. The Team of Distinction Award is the highest honor that a Morgan athletic team
can receive, and it honors those teams that have distinguished themselves as instrumental to the legacy
of a particular Morgan sports program by having achieved an outstanding accomplishment or unique
recognition not made by another team in its respective sport. The recipient(s) are selected by the Athletic
Director and Hall of Fame Chairperson, and approved by the Hall of Fame selection committee by majority
vote. The Morgan State University Athletic Excellence Fund is a recognition partner, providing financial
support for the official Team of Distinction Award plaques.

51st Year of the Varsity “M” Club

I
Fair Morgan, we love thee, so tried and so true,

Our hearts at they name thrill with pride;
We owe thee allegiance, we pledge thee our faith,

A faith which shall ever abide.
Chorus

We pledge thee our love, we pledge thee our faith,
Whatever the future may bring,

And thus our devotion, fidelity too,
And homage we pay as we sing.
II

Fair Morgan, as onward the year quickly fly,
And thou livest in memory sweet.

We bring thee our laurels whatever they be,
And lay them with joy at thy feet.
Chorus
