watercolour. This year we observed a move away from Kiwiana themes to more contemporary

about the quality and diversity of art on offer was extremely positive, with regular visitors

TPiece Art Award is a $3,000 cash prize
recognizing an outstanding artwork from
the show’s collection. The award, operating 2

Prior to the show’s start, the NZ Art Show 1. Voting for the
judging panel selected 10 finalists from the Brendan Foot

The RT Nelson Emerging Artist Award was
established in 2012 and made possible by

Promotions: ASB and Ronald McDonald House
This year we collaborated with Platinum Partner ASB on a number of exciting projects
resulting in a charitable outcome for Ronald McDonald House Wellington.
ARTISTS LIVE AT WORK
In the two weeks leading up to the show,
two artists were stationed in two Wellington
branches of ASB bank whilst demonstrating
their craft: Bruce Mortimer did some charcoal
drawings in the Lambton Quay branch and
Tatyana Kulida painted portraits and still-lifes
in the Willis St branch.
In addition, both artists demonstrated their

ART AUCTION FOR
CHARITY
For the second year in a row a charity art
auction was held, with three artworks going
under the hammer. They included the artworks
created by Tatyana Kulida and Bruce Mortimer
when they were ASB Artists in Residence, and
a work created by Dside especially for the
auction. Proceeds were donated to Ronald
McDonald House Wellington.

Jane Hart and Jo Hughes are core members of the
curatorial and judging panels. This year they were
joined by guest judge Dside as they pored over around
thousands of artworks to present a diverse range of
styles and media for the ten finalists for the Brendan
Foot Supersite Signature Piece Art Award.
VOLUNTEERS
Scores of personnel are required in the days leading
up to, during and after the show. Many of them are 4 5
volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that the show
runs smoothly. Thank you, we are truly grateful for your
commitment.
