Wilma Casal: I’m very much lookingforward to the release of AncestralShadows in a few weeks, the dance movie Ijust mentioned. It’s about three women who meet theirancestors and break free from roles andmovement patterns that have been passeddown throughout generations.Ancestral Shadows talks about breakingfree from social structures in which womenare still playing an inferior role.I can't wait for the beautiful work of all theWOLF & SWAN artists to be seen soon.In summer 2025, we will release Dance Is InThe Air, a film collage with sculptures of airdancers in the streets of New York.Conducted by the rhythms of the city, theyare met with joyful applause or simplyoverlooked.Their play is accompanied by dancers ofWOLF & SWAN Company and the question:What drives us. The film shows how theWomenCinemakers
world around us influences our perception andfeelings and how these form a silhouette.Furthermore, I am currently working on a solodance film called Bird Song In Silence. Itportrays a bird, which represents the innocenceand vulnerability of all living creatures, which aredependent on us humans implementing a realand long-term change. And very close to my heart is our next stageproduction, Dragonblood, an interpretation ofthe famous Nibelungenlied. From a feminist perspective, my piece reflects onan unmarked and soft-washed crime that lingerson our stages and thus remains sociallyacceptable.A parable about moral responsibility. The premiere is planned for winter 2025 in NewYork.WomenCinemakersAn interview by Francis L.
