November 26, 2022
Dear Friends,
Welcome back to Festival of Trees! We are thrilled to once again be in the company of
wonderful neighbors and friends. Tonight, we come together to celebrate and support our
beloved Oliver Wolcott Library which has been the intellectual center of our community,
providing library services to our town for more than 155 years.
We have much to be thankful for this year. Thanks to each of you OWL is thriving!
Highlights from 2021 include:

• 50% increase in total circulation with more than 117,000 items circulating.
• 98% increase in physical visits to OWL with more than 34,626 patron visits.
• 180% increase in adult event engagement and 382% increase in children’s event

engagement.
These statistics show, firsthand, how much you love OWL. Thank you for your patronage,
your devotion, and your donations. YOU are the heart and soul of our library!
Unlike many libraries in our state that are 100% funded by taxpayer dollars, OWL relies
on private donations from our community for more than 50% of its annual funding. Your
generosity tonight allows OWL to offer every library event and program, free-of-charge,
for the remaining 364 days of the year.
Heartfelt thanks to the Festival Team of more than 100 volunteers, OWL staff and the board
of trustees for their incredible effort in planning and executing a party of this scale! And,
new this year, our amazing Week of Wonder online auction. Bid online for an incredible
array of curated items including many dinners and parties! Visit owlauction2022.ggo.bid
NOW through Saturday, December 3rd when the auction closes.
Thank you for loving your library and for your generosity on this very special night!

Sincerely,

Emily Dalton Bill Honan

Pagoda Party at Teno’s Tallmadge House

HOST: Teno West
Saturday, May 27, 2023 ~ 5:00 - 8:00 PM
35 Guests

The Tallmadge House has been the site of many historic events. Shipping trade with
China was significant to Litchfield, and as a principal trader, Benjamin Tallmadge
brought an authentic Pagoda back to be placed on his property. Long story short –
it was sold and taken away but now, thanks to Peter and Jeff Tillou and Teno West,
the Pagoda has been restored to its original location. What better excuse for a
party than to celebrate its return and learn more about its history at the same time.
Teno’s parties are legendary and this one will be just as great. Featuring Asian
hors d’oeuvres such as dim sum, spring rolls, dumplings, wontons along with fancy
cocktails. Did someone say Mai Tai’s? Don’t let this ship sail away without signing
up for the voyage.

of of Ham and Leek Quiche, Lasagna – both veggie and meat - Apple Cabbage
slaw, Sausage stuffed baked apples, Curried Chicken Salad, Poached Salmon and

company of our genial, talented hosts.
