1969 Chrysler 300

The father and son car collecting, restoring and trading
duo of J.P. and Shawn Bergeron are the ones that brought
this 1969 Chrysler Three Hundred Luxury Liner to Redcliff
when Shawn traded his 1985 Dodge Shortbox for it in
Edmonton. That was followed by a trade of J.P.”s 70 Cuda
Convertible to Shawn. The smooth ride this car offers is
unmatched by any modern car and it doesn’t end there.
It has power everything from the seats to the convertible
top. Hide-away-headlights, A/C, Tilt and Telescopic
Steering and lets not forget the big 440 under the hood.
Back in the day it was common to see a car like this
heading down the highway with the top down, six happy
people on board and a huge camper trailer in tow.

1957 Ford

In 1953 Ford started work on a retractable hardtop
system that was supposed to be fitted to the 1956 Lincoln
Continental Mark II. However, by 1956 it wasn’t ready so
Ford decided to fit the top to the 1957 Fairlane 500, hoping
to get their development money back. They did it for
three years but never recouped their costs.
In 1976 Cam & Ylonda Jordheim went to Calgary looking
for a Mustang and came back with this 1957 Ford Fairlane
500 Skyliner instead. In the early 90’s Cam was headed to
the Hansen’s Ford Picnic Car Show near Chaplan Sask and
the original 312 V8 threw a rod and windowed the block.
It missed the water jacket and continued to run. That little
incident led to the install of a 1984 5.0 litre Mustang engine
with AOD.
In the last few years Cam stripped out the interior and
took the body to bare steel, from that point I gave him a
hand on the body and paint. Once painted, Cam put it all
back together with a brand new interior. As a professional
aircraft mechanic Cam finds this stuff kind of low stress
because a little mistake won’t make you fall out of the sky!

stall converter, a 3:73 posi gets the power to the ground. The it still pulls trailers like a beast.

1955 Meteor Rideau

This Meteor Rideau Club Sedan is owned by Stan Schreiber
and is 1 of only 661 built for 1955. It was purchased new at
Wheat Centre Motors in Vulcan, Alberta.
Equipped with the factory 272 Y-Block and 3 speed
transmission, this car is in excellent running condition. Stan
wasn’t very happy with the noise it didn’t make so he put
dual glasspacks on the exhaust to make him feel like a kid
again. They say you can’t go back to the fifties, but Stan
was lucky enough to have never left.
Stan acquired it in 2012 and is the third owner, the second
owner had initiated a complete frame off restoration
which is now being completed by Stan and his son Jason.
Another lucky thing for Stan is that his son Jason got the
car bug and became a professional bodyman/painter
so when he gets time to paint the car back to the exact
correct Buckskin Brown paint, he’s in luck.
The most amazing thing about this car might be the
upholstery work; it was completed at the factory in 1955
and is still the upholstery that is in it today! The condition
of the interior is unbelievable.

1947 Chrysler New Yorker

After 40 years of owning a car I can completely relate to wanting to keep that
car in the family. That’s exactly what Les did when his chance came up to keep
this 1947 Chrysler New Yorker in his family.

Powered by a “Spitfire” flathead 8 cylinder engine, this car also has a “Fluid Dive”
automatic transmission. It has two options that I was quite surprised to see, one
is dual zone climate control and the other is a third brake light.
