The 2016 Conference Venue and Host Hotel are located in the heart of Old City. This means
there is a plethora of historical sites to check out within a walkable, 1 mile radius of the Host
Hotel. A few highlights:
Liberty Bell:
This iconic symbol of American Liberty is housed in a glass building at
6th Street & Market Street. You can line up and go through security to
view the bell up close but if you’re in a rush, it’s also fully visible from
the sidewalk.

National Constitution Center:
The Center features range of exhibits, live performances, and
programs that illuminate constitutional freedoms and immerse you
in the extraordinary story of “We the People”.

Betsy Ross House:
The Betsy Ross House, the birthplace of the American flag, is alive with the sights
and sounds of the 18th century. Tour the house and learn about Betsy through

Independence Hall
In 1776, the Second Continental Congress signed
the Declaration of Independence here. Eleven
years later, delegates to the Constitutional Convention created
and signed the enduring framework of government—the US
Constitution.

Christ Church & Burial Ground:
Christ Church is known as The Nation’s Church because Revolutionary-era
leaders worshiped there. The Burial Ground (3 blocks away) is the final
resting place for prominent national leaders, including Benjamin Franklin.

Elfreth’s Alley
“America’s Oldest Residential Neighborhood”, the 32 buildings along Elfreth’s Alley
were built from 1720s-1830s, and reveal the stories of everyday life in the spaces
that America’s founders knew. Learn more through the guidebook available at
the museum.

Carpenter’s Hall
This historic building was a meeting place of the 13
colonies that became the US, the location of the first
bank robbery, and the house of America’s first spies.

Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University:
Visitors to the Academy get face to face with towering dinosaurs, meet
live animals, and explore a tropical garden with live butterflies. The
