who tells the story in his own words.
What interested you first, the general subject of virtual reality or
that Google had this thing called the Cardboard?
I’ve always been interested in new technology and I believe VR
is really going to take off in 2016. I was reading an article about
how a doctor used Google Cardboard to save a child’s life and
thought it was really interesting because usually, technology in
its early stages lacks applications. But VR, however, started with
actual uses.
What did you know prior about virtual reality?
Since 2013, I’ve followed the Oculus Rift’s development and any
news about VR, but that was my first exposure to the technology.
From a business point of view, what would you guess was the
motivation behind a big company like Google offering this basically
super-cheap unsophisticated DIY product?
I believe it was intended as strong encouragement to the devel-
oper community to invest time and ideas in this technology.

Yes, definitely.
