INNOVATIONS
Innovation is the key to development in any field. As people say one should have an innovative mind because it
contributes to the society in the best possible way. As the famous saying goes, “Necessity is the mother of invention”
which implies indirectly that it is very important to figure out a problem to come up with an innovative solution to it.
In order to encourage students to be more innovative, the CSI Student Chapter of SIES Graduate School of
Technology conducts a National level project competition, Innovations annually. It serves as a platform for young
minds to take this window of opportunity and bring forward their innovative ideas in the form of projects. Each year
teams from various institutes all over Maharashtra as well as other states, participate in Innovations in large
numbers.

COUNCIL SPEAKS
Kaustubh Salgaonkar
Literary Secretary | 2020-2021
“While I was a part of the dynamic student council of SIES GST, where
there’s a ton of energy and everyone is excited to jump in and contribute, I
have gained a lot of valuable experience and skills apart from managing
events and festivals. The student council served as a medium to have
difficult and uncomfortable conversations where we could talk about
race, gender, politics and still be friends at the end of the day. Being in the
student council, I also realized how valuable everyone else around me is,
and how valuable their opinions are, and this helped me to find the
weaknesses in my ideas and plans. There is a lot of peer learning involved,
where not only did I see a positive change in myself but also in my
teammates which then again pushed me to be better.”
Jay Pradhan
Cultural Head | 2018-2019
“Being in Student Council it was always a responsibility to constantly strive
as a team to enhance a comfortable and enriching experience of the
campus. You learn how to effectively collaborate with others and use
empathy to guide you in your decision-making.”
Ankita Dharurkar
Ladies Representative & Treasurer | 2018-2020
“My time in college was highlighted by my active involvement with the
Student Council. I have grown and learnt a lot in this period. Tackling
situations, handling finances and all other aspects of student life beyond
academics. The experience taught me a lot beyond the usual sphere and
you make excellent connections and memories!”
Mandar Sawant
Cultural Secretary | 2020-2021
“They say some memories are unforgettable, remaining ever vivid and
heartwarming. To partake a gist, my college journey is from being a shy
underconfident guy when I entered the college in FE to being the Cultural
Secretary of SIES GST ,I have come a long way and this wouldn't have
been possible without the Student Council. Student Council for me was an
escape from reality, it gave me a platform where I could freely express
myself, discover my personality and learn new things. These memories
are a lot closer than I could ever describe and I hope you can find the
same.”
