WHO IS SANEA?

The South African National Energy Association (SANEA) is a not for profit
company founded in 1924. SANEA represents a hub for objective thought
leadership on energy and related matters. In so doing, SANEA stimulates
original thinking to catalyse transformation of the South African Energy
Sector.

To benefit our stakeholders, we will draw on our local, regional, continental
and global networks to provide credible interventions that

Engage influential role players
Stimulate objective thinking and critical assessment
Encourage knowledge-sharing and debate
Strengthen the professional energy network
Enhance awareness of energy issues in South Africa
Promote talent development

SANEA’s primary objective is to enhance the level of understanding and
the quality of debate on energy matters, thereby contributing to improved
decision making and provision of more equitable and sustainable energy
systems attendees.



SANEA VALUE PROPOSITION

SANEA is the only association in the South African energy space that is
technology neutral and is able to give an equitable and balanced voice
to all technologies in Energy. This provides a platform for robust and fair
discussion on the energy landscape and topics related to the energy
transition.

SANEA offers members and sponsors opportunities to:

• Access reliable and credible research and information on the
Energy sector

• Access relevant training and skills development programs within
the sector where members can gain CPD points

All members contribute to the achievement of this objective through
their membership subscriptions and their active engagement in
SANEA activities.

UNLOCK CONFERENCE

The South African National Energy Association (SANEA) will be hosting a
virtual conference on 21 – 22 October 2021, not only to celebrate World
Energy Day but to show how powerful collaboration can be in the Energy
sector and to further explore the possibilities of energy sustainability in
Af rica.

How can we ‘UNLOCK’ the opportunities available in South Africa and
Africa? Thought leaders, from across the Energy sector, will identify and
unpack the various and dynamic initiatives and projects in the energy sector
to unlock the opportunities for:

PEOPLE - to ensure we have the right skills
IMPACT - though projects
IMPLEMENTATION - through enabling environments
INNOVATION - of new pathways and business models
INTEGRATION - of effort and approach to speed up the just energy transition

WHAT WILL BE DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS ENERGY CONFERENCE?

SANEA will host this two day digital conference that is engaging and
interactive but it will also use this powerful platform to launch the 2021/2000
South Africa Energy Risk Report and to host the 2021 Annual Energy Awards!

This event will be a unique online experience for delegates and partners,
where interaction will be taken to another level in the digital world. We
will be stepping into this new world that we find ourselves in and using
technology to keep inspired, engaged and invested. All delegates will

participate in interactive gaming and activities, and will have the opportunity
to win prizes and be first on the SANEA Leaderboard.

SOUTH AFRICA ENERGY RISK REPORT

At this event, SANEA will also be launching the
2021/22 ENERGY RISK REPORT which highlights
energy risks, shares case studies and makes
recommendations which not only unpack the
risks facing the energy landscape but highlights
the potential opportunities as well.

By changing the release date of the SANEA
Risk Report to later in the year it will enable
organisations to make better decisions when
realigning their strategies for 2022.

The two action filled days will also be further enhanced with the 2021
Energy Awards being hosted during the conference being World Energy
Day, the SANEA Board felt that it would be appropriate to acknowledge and
recognise energy leaders across a wide spectrum of activities and projects, and
for our leading thought leaders to be acknowledged on this significant day
where energy sustainability is being elevated across the World.
