Presidential candidates 2016 pdf

A brief look at the American Presidential candidates 2016

In the up coming American election there are five possible candidates remaining for
the job of President of the United States, arguably one of the most important jobs in
the world. There are three Republican candidates, Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and John
Kasich . The Democrats have Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. They are all fighting
to win the most delegates. So let’s take at look at who would be the best and who
would be the worst.

For the Republicans we have:

Donald Trump

From the Republican party comes a self made billionaire worth just over 5 billion
$US, Donald Trump. Some people consider Mr Trump as a complete joke but If you
just take the time to look a little deeper you will find a completely different story.
Some of his policies I agree are a little bit extreme but some of them have real
potential. For example, his policy on building a wall between America and Mexico
is probably never going to happen and is frankly racist. However, his policy on taxes
which could encourage companies to come back to America and lower tax rates for
poorer people have potential . As of April 2016 Donald Trump has won 743
delegates.

Ted Cruz

Our second candidate fundamental Christian. Ted Cruz is also from the Republican
party. He was born and raised in Texas he attended a Christian high school for his
early childhood. Ted Cruz would be a complete disaster as President as many of his
policies disempower government. America would turn into a free for all, the
government would no longer provide support for homeless and disadvantaged
people. His policies would also reflect a dangerous brand of uber conservative
Christianity. This would be bad news for the rights of women and gay people. As of
April 2016 Ted Cruz has won 532 delegates.

John Kasich

John Kasich is one of the last Republican candidates remaining in the race. He’s seen
as a bit of an underdog, An Ohioan native, he has a history as a Fox talk show host.
Kasich Is an old fashioned politician with few interesting policies. His policies include
lifting the budget sequestration caps on military spending, while cutting waste in the
Pentagon, which I think would just waste more money on Americas already very
large military. His low cost energy policy is potentially more interesting but has not
captured the attention of the delegates. As of April 2016 John Kasich has won 143
delegates.

Bernie Sanders

The large percentage of older Americans have been and still are very suspicious of
anyone who calls them self a socialist. Sanders is a self proclaimed socialist which is
one of the main reasons that he is attracting the attention of younger voters. Since
2007 Sanders has been the senator of Vermont. In April of 2015 Sander officially
announced his campaign. Sander is the most liberal candidate In the race. Some of
his policies Include; making public collages free. Sanders would also like to make
Medicare a service for everyone and finally he would like to increase taxes on
companies and large enterprises.

Hilary Clinton

The front runner for the Democrats is Hilary Clinton, the wife of former President Bill
Clinton. Clinton is best known for her time as Secretary of State ( 2008-2016 ) under
the Obama Government. At the present moment Clinton leads her rival Bernie
Sanders by about 200-300 delegates. Although Sanders is gaining momentum after
recent controversies such as her very significant financial backing from merchant
banks like Goldman Sachs. It remains to be seen how her lesser-known controversies
will affect her White House bid. Some of those controversies include the attack in
Bengazi, Libya . In which a US ambassador was killed due to lack of protection. Some
of Clintons policies Include opposition to the trans-pacific trade agreement and
raising capital gains tax. Despite being the first female candidate Hilary Clinton is not
popular with younger women who don’t like her ties to big business. As of April
2016 Hilary Clinton has won around 1700 delegates.

Donald J Trump
