Michael is always there to support the Land and Design team and through a very
busy bidding period of 1st Quarter 2022, he has been there to guide the team in his
'unflappable' and considered way.

Jordan has been working hard to drive down prelim costs on site. He is working well
with sites & Plant to minimise costs as much as possible by pointing out what we are
overspending on & what we need to do to keep these costs to a minimum.

STRATEGIC LAND - CONTRACTS EXCHANGED

It is my great pleasure to inform you that as of last Friday we exchanged contracts
on 9 acres of Strategic Land adjacent to our Broadleigh Park, Tavistock site. We have

planning application. It is assumed we could end up with a site between 70-100 units.

For illustrative purposes the land is shaded red and Broadleigh Park is shaded yellow.

MICHELMORE’S 5K

Michelmores have their annual 5k run this year, which hasn’t
happened for the last 2 because of Covid. We have in the past
got a group from Cavanna to do this, so hopefully we can do
so again this year. All in aid of a great charity and good fun!!
We work closely with Michelmores so it would be good to
support their event. Entrants can jog or walk the 5k. Jeremy
Dymond, Land Appraisal Manager will arrange some training
runs after work for those that are interested.

get to know us a little better

The family council is a team of 14 members - we thought you may enjoy getting
to know us a little better - more members write-ups to come next time.

Hello to all ...

The Cavanna Family Council is a leadership and governance forum that exists to unify the wider family and the business in their
shared purpose. This role was previously done by the 3rd generation running the business. Our shared purpose can be explained
by; our way of doing business - The Cavanna Way; that we are financially successful; continuing a family legacy and family traditions;
to ensure customers and suppliers like dealing with the company because or how they are treated and due to it being family owned.
There is a strong emotional bond among the family in relation to the company and it’s business. Family are proud to tell others that
they are part of the Company. Family members have a strong connection with the company. The business and all of it’s employees
are incredibly important and at the heart of the desire to maintain the family connection with the business.
We will also build family professionalism in support of guidelines, policies, agreements, and decision-making processes that lead
to long-term family and enterprise success. NEXT TIME: More write-ups and an update on what we have been up to so far.

Ben Cavanna
Youngest child of Peter, P.D. and Mona’s eldest son. I have four grown children, five
grandchildren. Mostly retired from photographing Artists at work, and rare books, maps
and antiques for auction houses. I have my eldest grandson Jonah living with me full
time, an at times wild and mostly lovely new chapter in both our lives. Growing veg at
home is a lockdown joyful re-discovery. Can also be glimpsed in muddy fields at festivals
coordinating Artist Liaison and providing Solar power.

Ben Rowntree
As the first guinea pig to embark on the Cavanna management internship in 2015,
I now reside in the land department bidding to fill the company pipeline. I live in a Cavanna
Home in South Brent with my wife Sarah and our beautiful two young children who keep us
on our toes. Getting outside and being active is good in my book. Travel is a passion which
we hope to pass onto the children. Which of the following careers have I had? A) Teacher
B) Professional Rugby Player C) Fire Fighter D) All of the above

Colin Drummond
I’m the youngest of the four children of the founder’s youngest child. The majority of
my working life has been spent in academic publishing of microbiology journals (lots of
cheerful stuff about antibiotic resistance and HIV). I will have been married to Felicity
(also a shareholder) for 30 years later this year. As we don’t have children, I have lots of
spare time, which recently I’ve been devoting to imagining cruel and unusual afflictions
for President Putin.

28

David Cavanna
Martin and Barbara’s eldest and big brother to Mike and Jen. My partner, Mel, and I have a 2
year old daughter Isla who certainly keeps us on our toes and seems to have inherited many
of the family traits. Still trying to work out if that’s a good or a bad thing! My career began in
event marketing, initially working on the Olympics in 2012, before moving into marketing and
sales operations consultancy. When not at work or on parental duty, I can mostly be found
playing bass in a slightly better than average covers band.

Jenni Cavanna
Granddaughter to Pat, P.D.’s 4th child. I live in Southampton with my 3 children Eloise (14), Milly (14) and
Johnny (13). I have a diverse career history; I pursued my passion for horses, taking the opportunity
to travel. Then took a sales and account management path, across a multitude of sectors, working
within the NGO Charity sector; entrenched homelessness and alcohol services, TGWU union
representative for Health & Safety. Over the last few years I have been a full time carer for my
daughter, and worked on local initiatives. As well as being an adult helper at our Young Farmers club
‘New Forest Commoners’ breeding Newforest ponies and producing seasonal pork and lamb.

Jonathan Cavanna
I’m ‘young’ Jonathan, brother to Jane, Jeremy and Julian. Having been on the Board for 30+yrs, up to
12 months ago, you may have heard a bit about me already, I hope at least some of it was good!
I’m an engineer by training, mostly in the field of research. Annette and I have 2 children, Robert
who works in our Land and Design Dept, and Alexandra who is on the way to becoming a Clinical
Psychologist. My 2 main interests for the Company are its Competitiveness, and that its culture
continues to live up to the challenges in The Cavanna Way.

Julian Cavanna
Youngest (and best looking) brother of Jonathan and Jeremy, my initial career was in basic
academic research before transiting into ‘head hunting’ in the biotech/pharma/life sciences
sectors in consultancy, as a freelancer or within the HR functions of companies. Most recently,
I have sent my wife, Juliet, out to work (she is a Consultant Paediatrician) to allow me to

Kevyn Dixons a star!!
We have recently exchanged on our property at Equinox 2 and have
been dealing with Kevyn Dixon. Kevyn has been fantastic throughout the
process, guiding us through making difficult decisions and never rushed
us. We would highly recommend Kevyn & Cavanna to anybody looking to
purchase their new home. 5 star service and we look forward to working
with Kevyn to completion.
Well done Kevyn and the Team!

WESTWARD HOUSING GROUP

Westward board members are impressed by our new homes in
Exeter. Tithebarn was built in partnership with Cavanna Homes,
East Devon District Council and Randall Simmonds LLP. 22 new
affordable homes with 18 rented and 4 shared ownership. The
district heating system is critical at this time of fast-rising energy
bills as well as being good news for the environment.

And remember -
we need a lovely
photo of Trigger

on his holiday

TRIGGERS TRAVELS

Well after Trigger’s lonely hearts column last month, we’ve had a
better response this month to Trigger’s Travels. All we need you to do
is take Trigger away with you on holiday – whether that’s in the UK or
abroad, and get a photo of him at your destination. The charity and
social committee will then select the best photo each quarter, and the
winner will get to select a charity of their choice to receive at £50
donation.

Jeremy Dymond took Trigger to Florida
Christine Cavanna (Shareholder) took Trigger to Cape Verde
Amanda Weeks took Trigger to Menorca.

Amanda was this quarter’s winner and will be able to nominate a
charity of her choice to receive a donation. Keep the pictures coming,
we love to see your travels – whether it be in the UK or abroad.

Please cheer Trigger up and take him with you!
