Pure Romance 2020 Incentive Requirements Guide US

11.11 Violating Policies and Procedures or Engaging in Illegal, Fraudulent, Deceptive or
Unethical Behavior

We expect all Consultants to live our values. It’s important for you to follow the highest standards of ethics, honesty, integrity and
professionalism when dealing with Customers, Hostesses, fellow Consultants and employees. We may, at our sole discretion, take any
of the following actions if you violate any of our policies and procedures or engage in any illegal, fraudulent, deceptive or unethical
behavior:

 Place your account on hold and suspend your authority to operate your Pure Romance business

 Impose a fine (which we may withhold from your commissions, bonuses, etc.)

 Reassign one or more Consultants in your Downline to another Sponsor

 Terminate your Consultant Agreement immediately

 Reduce your current Consultant Level (temporarily or permanently)

 Report criminal behavior to law enforcement

 Take legal action against you

 Take any other action that we believe is appropriate and practical to fairly resolve any harm or potential harm caused by
your behavior

11.12 Acts by Members of Your Household or Business Entity

You will be held responsible for violations of our policies or procedures committed by any:

 member of your immediate household

 business entity (i.e., a corporation, partnership, LLC, etc.) with which you are associated

If this happens, we may take any of the actions described under “Violating Policies and Procedures or Engaging in Illegal, Fraudulent,
Deceptive or Unethical Behavior” against you, including possible termination of your Consultant Agreement.

11.13 Investigation Period When Terminating An Agreement

 On occasion, Pure Romance may suspend access to a Consultant’s account while investigated the potential of terminating a
Consultant Agreement. Pure Romance will not compensate or provide consideration for bonuses, incentives or other aspects
of the compensation plan that may be impacted by this investigation period.

 An investigation period is not always required. If the severity warrants Pure Romance may immediately terminate a
Consultant Agreement.

 The Pure Romance Corporate Office can terminate the relationship with a Consultant as explained in the Consultant
Agreement. The following provides examples of instances the Corporate Office would elect to terminate a relationship with a
Consultant, but is not limited to:

o A Consultant has violated any provisions of her Agreement, including the provisions of the policies and procedures
set forth in this Incentive Requirements Guide and the Consultant Agreement in its current form, which may be
amended at Pure Romance’s sole discretion.

o The Consultant has violated any laws, regulations, or standards of fair dealing.

o The Consultant has not conducted herself in keeping with the brand image of Pure Romance.

o Unresolved Customer complaints.

o Fraud or unethical business practices.

This can be for the amount of time the Pure Romance Corporate Office is investigating any conduct allegedly violating the Consultant

Agreement or a sanctioned amount of time as defined by the Pure Romance Corporate Office.

11.14 Termination of Agreement

Termination of a relationship with Pure Romance will result in the following:

 Termination of the Consultant's Agreement and Pure Romance business.
 Loss of party leads or opportunity leads.
 Loss of Good Standing status.
 Charging a Consultant for Party Complaint orders shipped out to her customer from the Pure Romance Corporate Office.
 Any other measure expressly allowed within any provision of the Consultant Agreement or that which Pure Romance deems

appropriate to equitably resolve injuries caused partially or exclusively by the Consultant’s policy violation or contractual breach.
 In situations deemed appropriate, the Pure Romance Corporate Office may institute legal proceeding for monetary and/or

equitable relief.
 Either the Consultant or Pure Romance may terminate this Agreement upon fourteen (14) days advance written notice.
 Terminated Consultants may not re-enroll as a Consultant at any time.

11.15 Profiting from the Pure Romance Network

Consultants and their immediate family members are not permitted to sell marketing materials, supplies, coaching, training products
or other goods and services related directly or indirectly to Pure Romance to other Consultants for profit.

On occasion, nominal fees may be collected for the purposes of covering expenses for meetings, retreats, fundraisers or other events.
These fees should be not more than what is necessary to cover basic expenses and should not be for the purposes of profiting from the
Pure Romance network.

11.16 Direct Marketing to Customers of Inactive Consultants

Pure Romance reserves the right to communicate digital marketing promotions to customers who purchased from A Consultant that is
now inactive. The Corporate Office may connect customers of Inactive Consultants with an Active Consultant at its discretion.

11.17 Sharing Training, Messaging and Other Trade Secrets

When sharing suggestions, tips and other information propriety to Pure Romance, Consultants are required to share content within
password protected sites or within private groups dedicated to helping other Pure Romance Consultants. This information should not
be shared for general public access without the prior written consent of the Corporate Office.

12. REPORTING POLICY VIOLATIONS

If a Consultant observes a violation by another Consultant, she should submit a written description of the violation directly to the
Consultant Relations Department. Details should include dates, number of occurrences, persons involved, and any supporting
documentation.

13. PARTY COMPLAINTS

 If the Corporate Office receives a party complaint or inquiry regarding an unresolved issue with a customer, a Consultant
Relations Department Representative will notify the Consultant via phone and email. The Corporate Office resolves all
customer complaints within 24 hours.

 The Consultant Relations Department will attempt to contact the Consultant to resolve the situation. If the Consultant does
not respond within 24 hours, the Corporate Office will resolve the complaint.

 If a customer’s backordered products are sent out on a Consultant’s behalf, the account will be charged the FULL Retail value
of the products, including the shipping and handling cost. The Consultant will not receive the Buying Discount off of the cost
of products sent to customers, so it is in the best interest of the Consultant to directly resolve complaints received from
customers.

 Amounts owed by a Consultant will be deducted from bonuses, Overrides, and/or credit on file.

 If the Pure Romance Corporate Office must ship items to a customer, the charges will be deducted from the credit on file
account. If there is an inadequate amount of credit on file account to cover these charges, the balance due will be added to
her account. A balance due will remain on the Consultant’s account and ordering rights will be restricted until the balance is
paid in full.

 To avoid delivery issues with customers, it is recommended to always require a signature confirmation for packages you ship
to show proof of delivery (signature on receipt).

 In the event receipt is disputed and there is no signature proof of delivery, the Consultant will be asked to re-send the
product to the customer. If a delivery confirmation can be provided, the Corporate Office will allow the Consultant to resolve
the situation with the customer.

 In cases of severe fraud or unethical business practices, the Corporate Office will terminate the relationship with the
Consultant.

 To regain Good Standing status and the benefits that are achieved with this status, a Consultant will be expected to operate
without additional customer or Consultant complaints.

 Continued complaints may result in the relationship being terminated by Pure Romance.

 A Consultant receiving five party complaints, or the total retail value of complaints is greater than $250, will be placed on 90-
day probation. If an additional complaint is received during the probationary period, the Consultant may be terminated.

 A Consultant receiving party complaints with a total retail value greater than $500 will result in immediate termination.

 All party complaint rules are subject to Corporate discretion.

14. GRIEVANCES AND COMPLAINTS

To report grievances and complaints with another Consultant regarding any practice or conduct in relationship with her respective Pure
Romance businesses, the Consultant should contact the offending Consultant’s Sponsor or upline.

If the issue is not resolved, it must be reported in writing to the Consultant Relations Department. Pure Romance will not mediate any
personal grievances or complaints.

14.1 Criticism and Professionalism

We strive to provide our Consultants, business partners and employees with an environment of empowerment, education and fun. We
value feedback and ask that your criticism always be constructive and professional. You agree to conduct your Pure Romance business
with integrity and to refrain from making negative, disparaging, false or misleading comments about Pure Romance including its
income potential, owners, investors, business partners, vendors employees, other Consultants, or any other direct selling company
(including that company’s Consultants, compensation and products). You also agree not to anything that is likely to harm us, our
reputation and goodwill or any other Consultant.

When associating yourself with Pure Romance, we ask that you carry yourself with professionalism whether it be visiting a restaurant,
holding an event, driving with Pure Romance promoted on your vehicle, traveling to World Conference, attending a team meeting,
holding a party and so on.

15. PERSONAL INCOME TAX REQUIREMENTS

15.1 Social Security or Tax ID Number Required

For Pure Romance to comply with IRS regulations, we must have a Social Security Number or Federal Tax ID Number to provide the

required 1099 reporting. This information is held in the strictest confidence and used only to comply with governing laws and for
protection of your Pure Romance business.

15.2 1099

A Pure Romance Consultant is considered an Independent Contractor and not an employee of Pure Romance, and therefore the
Corporate Office does not issue a W-2 form.

Pure Romance is required by federal law to report to the IRS and to send you a 1099 form when you:

 Purchase more than $5,000 at wholesale prices (which is defined as Retail minus your Buying Discount).

 Received any trips, gifts, prizes, awards or Override Bonuses with a value total more than $600 during the calendar year.
 Pure Romance will not withhold taxes of any kind, including income taxes, FICA, FUTA, or other statutory withholding or

employment taxes applicable to employees. As required by law, the Company will report to the Internal Revenue Service all
payments made to you. You will comply with all tax laws applicable to employees or self-employed individuals, including the
filing of necessary tax returns and the payment of all income, employment, or self-employment taxes.

15.3 Federal Law for 1099s

 1099 forms will be mailed to eligible Consultants no later than January 31st each year.

 Consultants must report income or loss to the federal government whether or not they meet the above parameters.

 Pure Romance cannot supply a breakdown of profits for the year.

16. PURE ROMANCE INTERNATIONAL

16.1 International Eligibility

The contests and qualifications detailed in this guide are applicable to Consultants registered with Pure Romance, LLC within the United
States and Pure Romance (Puerto Rico), LLC within Puerto Rico. Consultants registered in other countries should review the guide for
that specific country.

16.2 Cross-Border Sponsoring

Although there is a strong desire to support Consultants in all corners of the globe, the rules, regulations, and risks associated with
allowing Consultants to conduct business in foreign markets must be explored for each country. Therefore, we ask that Consultants
sponsor only in the country in which they are currently enrolled.

Should a Consultant wish to sponsor an individual in a country in which Pure Romance does not currently offer support, the sponsor
must contact the Corporate Office before processing a Starter Kit purchase. These requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Pure Romance reserves the right to refuse Starter Kit requests from countries we cannot currently support.

Pure Romance supports Consultants in the following countries:

 Pure Romance, LLC within the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada

 Pure Romance Distribution (South Africa) Pty Ltd

 Pure Romance (Australia) Pty Ltd

The United States, Puerto Rico and Canada are considered as one entity as it relates to cross-border sponsorship for Pure Romance.
Consultants residing in the United States may sponsor individuals in Canada, and Consultants in Canada may sponsor individuals in the
United States. Consultants residing in the United States that have Consultants in their downline who reside in Canada, will be subject to
adjustments to account for differences in Retail prices, compensation plan variations and currency exchanges when receiving bonus
payments on Canadian Consultants.

To retain your Pure Romance Consultant Agreement, a Consultant must remain a permanent resident in the country in which she is
enrolled. The Consultant Agreement does not transfer to another country. Should a Consultant wish to move from one country to

another, she must notify the Corporate Office.

16.3 Moving from One Country to Another

Individuals residing in other countries cannot participate in cross-border sponsoring. Meaning, a Consultant in South Africa cannot
sponsor an individual in the United States. Since Pure Romance does not allow cross-bordering sponsorship, Consultants moving from
one country to another, may not place a new Consultant from one country in the downline that resides in a different country.
The Consultant will be required to enroll in and sign a Consultant Agreement for the new country. To maintain a team in both
countries, the Consultant must meet the monthly minimums and adhere to the other guidelines for downline maintenance in both
countries, as detailed in the Incentive Requirements Guide for each location.

16.4 APO and FPO Residents of Countries Not Supported By Pure Romance

Individuals living on an APO, FPO or other based supported by the United States Government in countries not currently supported by
Pure Romance, may become a Consultant provided they have product delivered to the base address. Pure Romance cannot ship
products to an individual that resides outside of base.

17. PATTY BRISBEN FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN’S SEXUAL HEALTH

17.1 Hosting an Event

The Patty Brisben Foundation for Women’s Sexual Health thanks you for your interest in planning and hosting an awareness and/or
fundraising event. We truly appreciate your efforts to further the mission of the Foundation: To enhance women’s sexual health and
well-being through research and education. As you begin to develop your event plan, we ask that you provide as much information to
us as possible prior to your fundraising event. This both maximizes your success and maintains the integrity of the Patty Brisben
Foundation for Women’s Sexual Health. Plans for your fundraising event must be reviewed and approved by the Patty Brisben
Foundation for Women’s Sexual Health at least eight weeks prior to announcement and distribution of promotional materials. To
request approval for your fundraising activity, please contact the Foundation directly at [email protected] or
513.697.5934.
Third-party fundraisers and special events are neither coordinated by nor the responsibility of the Patty Brisben Foundation for
Women’s Sexual Health. Because the Patty Brisben Foundation is not able to supervise each event, it cannot take responsibility or
assume liability for any third-party fundraiser or special event.

18. GLOSSARY OF TERMS

18.1 Definitions & Terms

A

Active status (also Active Consultant, Activate, Activation, and Active)
Consultants must be in Active status to be eligible for Pure Romance’s rewards, bonuses, and incentive contests.

There are two ways to become an Active Consultant:

1. Reach a retail minimum within a certain time frame after signing up.

2. Purchase a Business Starter Kit that includes automatic Activation.

Once Active, Consultants must maintain minimum ordering requirements to remain in Active status. These requirements
differ from year to year and from country to country, so check the Incentive Requirements Guide for the most up-to-date
information.

Advancement Bonus
When a Consultant advances to Sr. Consultant and Director levels for the first time and maintains those levels for a period
of 90 days both the Consultant and her sponsor will receive a cash bonus.

Auto Activation
When a Consultant purchases a Premium Business Starter Kit her account is automatically activated.

B

backorder
An order for out-of-stock products that will take additional time to fulfill. This term currently refers only to products the
Corporate Office has out of stock; “corporate backorder” is also an acceptable term.

Consultants will occasionally refer to “backorders” as orders for products they do not currently have in their inventory and
must ship to the customer later, but this terminology is dated. The current term for such an order is an “open order.”

Bestie Party

Your first party with someone else as the hostess, not you - it can be a friend or a party lead from Launch or Encore parties.

booking

A Pure Romance home party or online party that a person has agreed to hold for you in the near future.

Buying Discount
This is the discount that is applied to a Consultant’s order. Buying Discounts are determined by the Consultant’s Level or
account status at the time an order is submitted.

Business Starter Kits
A collection of products and business supplies a woman purchases to start her Pure Romance business. A Consultant’s
business anniversary is determined by her “kit purchase date,” and her Buying Discount is generally determined by her “kit
purchased.” There are three kit types available to purchase: Standard Kit, Deluxe Kit, and Premium Kit.

Business Supplies
Consultants have access to a number of Business Supplies when placing a Consultant order. These items can be useful in
supporting and promoting a Pure Romance business. A Consultant’s Buying Discount is not applied to the purchase of
Business Supplies and they do not count towards monthly Retail sales totals.

Center for Sexual Health Promotion
Part of the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction at Indiana University. Any references to Pure
Romance’s affiliation with the university should refer to the center and not to the Kinsey Institute.

chargeback
A chargeback occurs when the credit card company or the cardholder disputes a charge to their credit card.

clitoral stimulation
A small mass of erectile tissue in the female that is situated at the anterior apex of the vulva, near the meeting of the labia
majora that, when stimulated, can lead to to strong sexual arousal and powerful orgasms.

commission
The money a Consultant makes from personal website sales.

compensation plan
The description of Buying Discounts and bonuses that the Corporate Office provides to Consultants.

complementary selling
Recommending products that pair well together (a cleaner and a lubricant with a toy is a classic example). Formerly known
as cross-selling.

connection call, connection hours
Terms used describe when a Consultant makes themselves available to connect with a lead or discuss business with
someone on the team.

Connection Card
A postcard located in every Pure Romance catalog to help Consultants gather the customer’s information as well as their
wish list. Also available for separate online order as a Business Supply. (As of 2016, not available in catalogs in Canada—
only online.)

Consultant
A woman who sells Pure Romance products at parties and through her personal Pure Romance website.

Consultant Agreement
Every active Consultant must sign a Consultant Agreement. This document includes important information on how Pure
Romance products may be sold and expectations Consultant can count on from the company.

Consultant Level
This refers to how far a Consultant has advanced in the compensation plan levels starting at Consultant and progressing to
Sr. Executive Director.

Consultant Relations Department
The Consultant Relations Department refers to the department that receives calls from Pure Romance Consultants. (The
Consultant Relations Department is called the Customer Service Department when it receives calls from customers.)

Consultant Online Office
The site where Consultants can log in to place orders and receive updates and training. COO is also used as an
abbreviation.

Corporate, Corporate Office, Pure Romance Corporate
Capitalize when referring to the entity: I work at Pure Romance Corporate. References to Pure Romance’s offices around
the world should specify the city: The training will take place at the Corporate Office in San Juan. See World Headquarters
and warehouse for more on how to describe buildings owned by Pure Romance.

corporate backorder
Products that are out of stock at the Corporate Office. When a customer wants a product that is on backorder, she may
need to wait for a few days or even months to receive it. (Not to be confused with open orders, which are orders placed by
a customer that the Consultant doesn’t have in stock the night of the party.)

credit on file
An account with the Pure Romance Corporate Office that can be used toward Consultant orders. Keep “credit” singular for
all uses of this term.

Example: The refund will be issued as a credit on file. The balance will be applied to your credit on file account. Credit on
file cannot be redeemed for cash.

cue cards
Printable cards that are available on the Consultant Online Office to assist new Consultants in learning about our products
and product categories and how to demonstrate them.

D

daily sales
An additional sale or discount offered to Consultants in addition to their Buying Discount. Daily sales can happen multiple
times per week and are communicated via email and the COO.

direct deposit
The electronic transfer of a payment directly from the account of the payer to the recipient's account.

Distribution Center
Pure Romance currently has five warehouses: in Loveland, Windsor, San Juan, Johannesburg, and Sydney. On first
reference, use “the Pure Romance Distribution Center in [city]”; on second reference, “distribution center” or “warehouse”
alone and uncapitalized is acceptable.

downline
The team members a Consultant sponsors into the business. A Consultant can have multiple downlines. The Consultants
that she personally sponsored make up her first downline. The Consultants that were sponsored by the Consultants that
she sponsored make up her second downline (and so on). These women are also informally referred to as daughters and
granddaughters.

E

E-Card
A type of email sent through the Media Center.

edutainment
Entertainment designed to be educational.

Enrollment Form
An Enrollment Form is used to capture new Consultant information when Business Starter Kits are purchased at special
sponsoring events. This information is automatically captured when a new Consultant purchases her kit online.

Encore Party
This is a Consultant’s second party that she hosts inviting again friends and family that weren’t able to attend her first
launch party. The Launch and Encore parties should be used to book the next Bestie party.

experience selling (also selling to the experience)
The collective term for two strategies for increasing sales in the shopping room. See complementary selling and upgrade
selling for more.

F

Family Expansion program

Consultants can request to have their monthly Retail sales minimum requirement waived for a period of two calendar
months to receive an Override Bonus. This program is applicable for the birth of a child, or placement of a child for
adoption or foster care. Lifestyle Bonuses that require minimum sponsorship as well as trips, and/or other special
incentives offered seasonally are not included in this waiver

Free Product
When you earn Free Product, Pure Romance gives you credit you can use to purchase Pure Romance product. Since this
product costs the Consultant nothing, it can be sold for 100% profit

functions, speeds, patterns
“Functions” is the catch-all term for “different types of vibration on a toy.” Functions can refer both to “speeds”
(faster/slower rates of consistent vibration) and “pulsing patterns” (vibrations that follow a pattern of pulses and
increasing/decreasing speeds). So, a seven-function toy might have three speeds and four pulsing patterns.

Future Leader
A group of Consultants who are offered an exclusive invitation to participate in a special mastery program. The program is
a series of classes and knowledge checks to help a Consultant take their business to the next level of leadership by
helping them excel in their career and achieve their goals. The Future Leader program is offered one time per year and
the program lasts six months to one year based on the time of year it is offered. Graduation from the program is typically
at World Conference.

G-spot stimulation
The G-spot is characterized as an erogenous area of the vagina that, when stimulated via fingers, a toy, or a penis, for
example, can lead to strong sexual arousal and powerful orgasms.

games and commercials
During a party, a Consultant may play games to keep the guests engaged and to spur specific business goals. Not all of
the games are currently called “games,” though! Below is a list of the types of games and commercial that can be played
at a party:

 A booking commercial is a game that encourages guests to book a party.

 An icebreaker game allows a Consultant to learn guests names and judge the comfort level of the guests.

 An income-boosting game encourages more guests, bigger orders, and future business.

 A sponsoring commercial educates party guests about the Pure Romance business opportunity.

Good Standing
Official designation for a Consultant who has no accounts or complaints to settle. See the Incentive Requirements Guide
for rules of maintaining Good Standing status and requirements.

Group Retail Sales
The combined sales of a Consultant and her first through fourth downlines.

H

hostess
A woman who has a Pure Romance party and receives hostess credits toward free product.

Note: Sometimes, the general public is confused about the role of a Consultant vs. a hostess at a party. Whenever
necessary, try to use language that clarifies the distinction between these two roles (i.e., don’t describe a Consultant as
“hosting” a party).

hostess incentive
The credit the hostess earns at her party that goes toward Pure Romance products. Formerly known as hostess credit and
is also known as hostess rewards.

hostess packet
A packet that a Consultant gives to a hostess to assist in preparing for the Pure Romance party. The hostess packet
contents vary with each Consultant.

I

Inactive status (also Inactive Consultant and Inactive)
A Consultant who does not meet the ordering requirements will fall to Inactive status. An Inactive Consultant can re-enroll
by purchasing a new Business Starter Kit.

Incentive Requirements Guide
A document outlining the expectations and guidelines Consultants should follow to continue receiving incentives.
Formerly known as the Policy Guide, it is also called the IRG.

Incentive Trip
A vacation earned through meeting sales and sponsoring requirements. Pure Romance offers several Incentive Trips each
year.

Inspire
Pure Romance publication featuring business tips and recognition.

inventory
Product Consultants purchase to sell at parties directly. As you build your business, you will find that carrying more

inventory and showing more products during the party will increase your overall success. Inventory cannot be sold if it has
been opened.

Inventory Advantage Program
The overall term for a series of programs that allow Consultants to order large collections of inventory, then pay for the
product in installments. (Formerly known as the Inventory Credit Program.) There are three types of Inventory Advantage
Programs, each with its own set of requirements: the New Consultant Inventory Advantage Program/Special Inventory
Advantage Program, the Monthly Special, and the Pick Your Own Program. Participants in the Inventory Advantage
Program purchase an Inventory Advantage Kit.

Kegel exercises
Kegel exercises can strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.

L

launch party
A Consultant’s first party, often supervised or aided by her sponsor.

Leadership
Anyone at Director level and above or anyone on a Position of Prestige is considered part of Pure Romance’s Leadership.

leave of absence
A Consultant experiencing medical or family issues can request a leave of absence of up to three months, during which
they do not have to meet minimum ordering requirements.

LGBTQ+
LGBTQ is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning. These terms are used to describe
a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. The plus that is usually included after the acronym encompasses a list of
other identities that fall under the LGBTQ umbrella.

Lifestyle Bonus
A bonus awarded monthly to Consultants who achieve certain personal sales and sponsorship minimums. The minimums
and the amount of the bonus vary by level.

Living With Change

Market Training
Pure Romance visits a number of locations throughout the year. A Market Training is a special visit that is not associated
with a national or global tour.

Media Center

National Convention
A national event devoted to motivation and recognition. The U.S. version of National Convention was replaced by World
Conference in 2013. Currently, National Convention refers to multi-day events that take place in South Africa and
Australia. When referring to these events for a U.S. audience, specify “Australia National Convention” and “South Africa
National Convention” to avoid confusion with the defunct U.S. event.

National Training
A multi-day training event usually held in Cincinnati.

O

open house
An open house is another type of event you can hold as a Pure Romance Consultant. At a Pure Romance open house, you
are welcome to invite anyone the age of 18, not just those who identify as a woman. The Consultant may display mild
products, such as lotions, creams, bath and beauty products, and massage aids. Any phallic-shaped items should be kept
in a bin under the Consultant’s table. If a customer asks to see your phallic-shaped products, they may allow them to look
in your bin and handle the products. Under no circumstances is the Consultant allowed to hold or demonstrate any of the
phallic-shaped products. If the open house is in a public place, these policies apply to bedroom accessories as well. You
must post a visible sign that mentions that the catalogs contain explicit material.

open order
When a Consultant does not have the product on hand that the customer would like to purchase. Formerly known as a
Consultant backorder.

opportunity meeting
A meeting to offer the Pure Romance business opportunity to new potential Consultants.

opportunity packet
A packet given to a potential new Consultant that is interested in the Pure Romance business opportunity. These vary by
Consultant but generally include: the Pure Romance Opportunity Brochure, the current starter kit sale flyer, the Kit
Comparison, and business cards. Also known as the Golden ticket.

outside order
Any order placed with a Consultant through their personal website before, during, or after a party, or throughout the year
outside of a party ID. This can also include orders collected before a party and additional orders after a party.

outstanding balance
The amount of money a Consultant owes the Pure Romance Corporate Office.

Override Bonus
A bonus issued to a Consultant based on the performance of her downline. A Consultant’s Override Bonus level is
determined by her Consultant level.

Party ID

party lead
This is when a customer requests a Pure Romance party and is assigned to a Consultant.

party planning (and party planning calls)
The series of telephone calls or in-person visits a Consultant makes to help her hostesses prepare for a party. Formerly
known as hostess coaching.

Patty Brisben Foundation for Women’s Sexual Health
Patty Brisben Foundation on second reference. Avoid PBF if possible—this acronym dilutes awareness of the brand. The
foundation’s focus is women’s sexual health (not women’s health or sexual health; use all three words).

pelvic floor
The muscular base of the abdomen, attached to the pelvis. The health of these muscles plays a vitally important role in
sexual arousal and climax and other aspects of bodily functioning. The pelvic floor can be strengthened via Kegel
exercises.

personal website
The unique URL that is assigned to each individual Consultant allowing their customers to place orders on

PureRomance.com. When orders are placed through this link, Consultants will receive commission on that customer’s
order.

personal website order
Any order place through PureRomance.com using a Consultant’s unique URL.

personal Retail sales
Any order place through PureRomance.com using a Consultant’s unique URL.

Position of Prestige
Highly coveted spots on the Pure Romance President’s Club, Board of Directors, Senior Board of Directors, and Executive
Board of Directors. You can earn a Position of Prestige spot by meeting designated Retail sales and recruiting
requirements from the previous year, these requirements are laid out in the Incentives and Requirements Guide.

PrintCenter
A custom printing company that enables small business owners to purchase business cards and marketing materials for
their business. Pure Romance has a marketing partnership with the PrintCenter and regularly provides corporate-designed
materials for Consultants to use.

Pure Romance Commercial
A quick soundbite to tell people about Pure Romance when telling people what you do or about Pure Romance. It is a
tool to segue into booking a party. Formerly known as 30-second commercial.

Pure Romance World Headquarters
The Pure Romance offices on Plum Street in downtown Cincinnati.

replenishment order
When a customer runs out of a product, such as lotion or body spray, and places an order for the same product.

reenrollment
An inactive Consultant can reenroll by purchasing a new Business Starter Kit. When she purchases a new kit, she will be
assigned a new Consultant ID number and her career sales will start over as a new Consultant. She will still have to meet
activation requirements to be considered an Active Consultant again.

Retail
The full price of items Pure Romance and its Consultants sell to customers. When Consultants place an order, the Retail
total (before their discount and not including items in the Business Supplies category) is used to calculate eligibility for
special sales and incentives.

Retail Sales Bonus
Consultant – Director levels can earn free product with personal Retail sales of $5,000 -$7,499 in a month. All Consultants
can earn a cash bonus based on personal Retail Sales for the month of $7,500 or more.

Return Merchandise Authorization
(RMA on second reference) A warranty replacement request. Pure Romance accepts merchandise returns for damaged or
defective merchandise only. An RMA must be submitted within 60 days of the original purchase date. Defective items
approved for return will be exchanged for duplicate items only.

roll-ups
If a Consultant fails to remain Active, all the Consultants in her downline automatically “roll up” into the downline of the
Consultant’s sponsor.

sales tax
A tax on sales or on the receipt from sales. A Consultant charges sales tax in applicable areas on the sale price of a
customer’s purchased items including shipping and handling.

What a person is assigned at birth based on genitalia, not always consistent with gender identity.

sexuality

A person’s sexual orientation or preference.

sexual lubricant
A sexual lubricant is a liquid or gel that can be applied during or before sex to make the vulva, vagina, or anal area
wetter. Lubricant can also be applied to a penis or a sex toy to make them more slippery.

sexual orientation

An emotional, romantic or sexual attraction to other people.

sexual wellness
The ongoing journey of self-awareness in regard to one’s intimate and sexual wellbeing. The quality or state of being
healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.

shadow
Observe a more experienced Consultant’s party demonstration, meeting, or connection call.

Shopping link
A URL that is automatically generated when a Consultant enters a party in the Consultant Online Office; this link can be
sent to the hostess and guests to allow them to shop the party online. Use this term instead of Party ID, which is internal
jargon.

shopping room
A private ordering room provided to the Consultant by the hostess to keep customers’ orders confidential.

speeds (for a toy)
See ‘functions’.

Sponsor
A Consultant who signs a team member personally.

to sponsor (v.)
to bring a new Consultant into the business.

Square Reader
Square is a payment collecting resource with which Pure Romance has a partnership. With Square, a Consultant can
accept all major debit and credit cards and pay as low as 2.25% per transaction and has no monthly payments.

Teambuilder Bonus
Monthly bonus available to Advanced Consultants, Sr. Consultants, Associate Directors and Directors when the Personal
Retail Sales and Group Sales minimums are reached for the month. Bonus a set amount, not based on percentage of
downline production like other levels.

tracking number
The number associated with a shipment required to track the location and delivery information.

trade show/vendor event
An event such as a bridal show, job fair, or expo where Pure Romance or a Consultant might set up a booth to promote
their business.

upline
Someone who sponsored a Consultant into the business—from your sponsor on up.

upgrade selling
A term for recommending that a customer upgrade to a larger size or higher price point. Formerly known as upselling.

V

Vaginal Dilator Set

A tube-shaped device that’s used to stretch the vagina. They’re often made of plastic and come in sets with many sizes.
The kit includes different size dilators ranging from small (about the size of a finger) to large.

vaginal health products

Products that can help regain and maintain a healthy vagina.

VIP
VIP status is given to Director level and above, as well as the Executive Board, Senior Board, Board of Directors, and
President’s Club.

Warranty Exchange Form
The form that must be completed for any item being returned. This form can be found on the Consultant Online Office.

waterproof
Wherever possible, try to be specific about the level of waterproofing that applies to a toy (bath-friendly or shower-
friendly). Do not describe products that have no motors as “waterproof,” though if it makes sense, you can point out that
they can be used in the bath or shower.

Welcome Guide
The booklet describing the requirements for trips and incentives available to Consultants.

Who Do You Know list
A document used to generate a list of people you know to reach out to for booking a party, getting referrals, or buying
product.

“Why”
A term describing a Consultant’s purpose in joining Pure Romance. When described in training, it generally involves a
concrete manifestation of a financial goal that a Consultant can remind herself of when things get tough: My “Why” is
remodeling my kitchen. When Consultants describe their “Why,” it tends to be more vague: My “Why” is my children. My
“Why” is myself!

World Conference
A training and recognition event for Consultants from all over the world. The first World Conference took place in
Cincinnati in August 2013. World Conference replaces National Convention.
