OIL EXTRACTION PUMP REPAIR KIT

similar Mercury Marine products, have the work performed by an authorized Mercury Marine dealer technician. Improper

instructions.
NOTE: After completing installation, place these instructions with the product for the owner's future use.

Replacing the Impeller
Replace the impeller every season or after 500 hours of service. Impellers may require servicing earlier if the unit has been
run dry, damaged by debris, or damaged by the use of incompatible fluids.

1. Remove the three screws securing the cover.
2. Remove the cover plate and O‑ring.
3. Using your fingers, remove the worn impeller.
4. Clean inside of the pump head and remove any debris which will obstruct the impeller’s operation.
5. Apply 2‑4‑C with PTFE to the inside of the pump head and to the outside diameter of the impeller.

6. Align the flat section inside of the new impeller with the flat section of the motor shaft.
7. Place the O‑ring on pump head, align the screw holes, and replace cover plate.
8. Replace the three screws and tighten securely.
Bearing Replacement
Check the pump motor shaft for any lateral movement in the shaft. Any extra movement of the shaft indicates a worn bearing.
If there is movement, the bearing needs to be replaced.
1. Remove the nuts, washers, and small O‑rings from the rear of the pump housing cap.
2. Slide the hose connection assembly out of the motor assembly.
3. Remove the seal—Ref. e ‑ Components Contained in Kit.
4. Remove the seal cover—Ref. f ‑ Components Contained in Kit.
5. Remove the bearing—Ref. g ‑ Components Contained in Kit.
6. Replace the bearing, seal cover, and seal in the order shown in the Components Contained in Kit illustration.
7. Insert the motor assembly into the hose connection assembly.
8. Align the screws with the screw holes in the rear pump housing cap.
9. Install the small O‑rings, washers, and nuts.
10. Tighten the nuts securely.
