14. Appendix 5 – Use of Personal Mobile Phones
As you are all aware, personal mobile phones are not to be used during working
hours.
Office staff should not have mobiles in their work area; they should be stored safely
and left on silent at all times. Mobile phone usage is distracting and is causing
mistakes to be made.
Warehouse staff should leave all mobiles in the lockers provided on the warehouse
floor. Mobiles are distracting and if you are involved in an accident whilst on your
phone you are not covered by company insurance. They are also distracting and are
leading to mistake being made.
Going forward, the use of personal mobiles whilst at work will lead to disciplinary
action, up to and including gross misconduct/dismissal from your position within the
company.
The only exceptions to this rule are when you are invited to share the company
social media feeds which should only take a matter of minutes. Also, company &
management mobiles for work purposes.
Please sign below to indicate that you understand the above statement.
This document will be added to your employment file.
Regards,
Matt
