FLY HIGH!!!
From the PrinciPal’s desk…
Dear Students,
It is a great privilege to welcome you all back after the vacation to this temple of learning - THE BHAVANS, for the
second term of the academic year 2019-2020.
It is indeed painful to bid adieu to free times and summer holidays where children were engaged in their own world, free
from the pressure of learning, indulging themselves in their preferred activities. Breaking the holiday routine and bring-
ing them back out of their comfort zone is indeed a difficult task. However, all good things have to end for a fresh and
new beginning.
Now it is the time to gear up and stay focused on studies. I have great confidence that all of you are well prepared with
renewed vigor and enthusiasm to meet the challenges ahead and emerge victorious in studies and related activities.
Dear students, you have the great privilege of studying in Bhavans. Treasure this opportunity. Thank your parents who
made it possible and the Almighty for the innumerable blessings that you all are receiving. Study SMART not only for a
better employment and all other comforts, but also for knowledge, wisdom, humanity, and humility. With a kind and noble
heart and mind, give back whatever you can, to the society where lots of less privileged human beings reside. As chil-
dren, you complain about lot of things that are missing in your lives. Complaining about not getting enough time for com-
pleting assignments and projects on time, about not getting leisure, not getting expensive gadgets, disliking and wasting
food so on and so forth, the list never ends. Nevertheless, we fail to appreciate the noblest things we are getting
through the hard work of our parents and elders. Please do remember that there are scores of illiterate children who
are not getting a morsel of food for their survival in this universe. Always develop an attitude of gratitude for whatev-
er privileges you are getting.
I know all of you have great potential. Utilize it in an efficient manner. Always set a goal in your life for self-
improvement. A learner without a goal will remain stagnant. Draft a timetable. Strictly adhere to it. If you have good
planning, proper scheduling, perfect implementation and hardwork, success will never elude you; instead will knock at
your doorstep. There is no shortcut to success. Hardwork, clear vision and smart study are the key to success. As a stu-
dent, you should prioritize your studies and activities perfectly. Refrain from the tendency of postponing studies Ana-
lyze your study methodology and correct your faults, if any.
Revision is also mandatory for students to excel in academics. Allocate adequate time for revising whatever you have
learnt from school. Practice loud reading regularly. It is an easy way to memorize your lessons properly and efficiently.
Yoga and meditation also play a key role in our routine. Practicing small yoga exercises makes your body more flexible,
balanced and strong. Meditation sharpens your intellect, relieves your stress and anxiety, makes you more focused, and
clears your mind from unwanted thoughts. Toxins from our body can also be flushed out by doing yoga exercises regular-
ly. Simple breathing techniques are good for the respiratory system as a sound mind in a healthy body is a pre-requisite
for a well-balanced life. Good amount of rest in the form of sound sleep is very essential to carry out next day’s work.
Last but not the least; a well-balanced diet is also vital for the normal functioning of our mind and body. Avoid junk
foods and aerated drinks. Replace it with homemade food, fresh fruits and healthy salads. Excessive indulgence in video
games and WhatsApp also drain your energy and steal away your precious time and make you an internet addict and
tempt you to surf unwanted sites. So plan your studies smartly, cleverly and execute it to excel in your studies.
My dear teaching fraternity, please venture out of your comfort zone and do something innovative which would make our
students enjoy their learning and related activities. Stay committed and focused in your work. Do your duties with dedi-
cation, devotion and diligence to make your teaching an enriching, meaningful and fruitful experience for students.
Thanks to all my colleagues and I hope with their devotion, support and commitment, our students will have a delightful,
fun-filled, blissful and a successful academic year ahead.
GOD BLESS U ALL.

Better ‘ME’ for a better ‘US’
Somehow right from birth, ‘reputation’ has been fed to us before ‘character’ had even been introduced. By defini-
tion, character is who you are and reputation is what the world perceives of you.
Contrary to what the world has been advising, I would like to believe that it is better to earn a bad name and live a
good life than to earn a good name and live a bad life. We are always contained by the social construct of having to
earn a good name in school, college and workplace. It is taught to us to be the good lad to our teachers, colleagues
and every passerby who acknowledges us. A good name from everywhere, from everyone, every single time; a good
name at any cost. The first introspection for most of us is ‘What will the world think of me- if I do this/ if I don’t do
this?’ Do we ever think, ‘What will- I become/ happen to me- by doing this or not doing this?’
The secret of fulfilling life is to ensure that your personal good always contributes to the greater good.We should be
able to live our lives through empathy and sympathy and not on the basis of what is preached to us. LIVE and LET
LIVE and not LET LIVE and LIVE. After all, if one doesn’t figure out how to live, how will one help others live better
lives?
What’s astonishing is, more than the desire of earning a good name, the fear of being known by a bad name is what
drives us. Ironically, when you commit to ‘earning a bad name but living a good life’ you end up living a good life
AND earning a good name. Live 20% and let live 80%.
Stand up for yourself, the World will stand by your side.

kindergarten wing of Bhavans Smart Indian School celebrated a perfect scenario of ‘Fun
in the Sun’ day in September 2019. Summer is a season that makes everyone want to
spend doing various activities outside. The heat during summer can be a little harsh
as well. People seek refreshments like cool drinks, ice creams and go to the beach to
beat the heat. By celebrating this day, Bhavans Smart Indian School worked towards

SHOW AND TELL AT BHAVANS
Stories and props have the effect to sparkle little mind’s imagination and there’s
nothing like narrating stories to instil the art of story narration in the nurturing
minds. Grade 2 students of Bhavans Smart Indian School excelled in this task of
storytelling for the given theme of this year. The theme taken to explore their
storytellers in them was ‘Wonders of the World’. Wonders around the world always
remain a wonder for the specialty of architecture and history. In this manner, the
art of narration of our efficient children remained a wonder through their dexterity,
precision and style of description.

examinations next week served a great relaxation to the students. Fun, laughter and finger-
frolicking meals have to come once in a while with the dear ones of school. Following up with
this, around 200 students along with the teachers hit the fun-filled spot at 9 PM and it lasted

BHAVANS 14TH FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS
Nothing grows on jagged rock. Sublime feats are a corollary to exalted vision that
thrives on fertile minds. Like the sun-whipped oasis on a desolate landscape, Bhavans
is an oasis for quality education on the sun-scarred desert of sorts of an educational
landscape in Kuwait. Bhavans 14th Founder’s Day
Celebrations, held on 13th September 2019 at
Smart Indian School, Kuwait, bore all the
hallmarks of a compelling show- a throwback to
the school’s incredible evolution over the
years. After the recital of verses from the Holy
Quran and the rendition of the Kuwait National
Anthem by the school choir, Chief Guest, H E Dr.
Shamir Ali , Ambassador of Guyana to Kuwait, Mr. N. K
Ramachandran Menon, Founder and Chairman, Bhavans Middle
East, Mr. Sooraj Ramachandran, Vice Chairman, Bhavans , Middle
East , Mr. T Premkumar, Principal, Indian Educational School and
Mr. Mahesh Iyer, Principal, Smart Indian School conjointly lit the
ceremonial lamp in the diffuse haze of golden light.
As the 14th Founder’s Day Celebrations drew to a close, Bhavans looked poised on the
threshold of a more prolific journey, reinventing itself to embrace fresh challenges.
The forecast has never been so bright.
