Harnessing the Inner Light

Sudden changes can always bring an unexpected jolt to all of us and this Corona has done

just that. Many have used this opportunity to bond with their old friends and some have
been lucky enough to be locked down with their family and have been able to have enriching
experiences. A few have been innovative and are learning new skills like mandala art, or
improving their culinary skills. Some are giving their house a makeover, some learning and

some reminiscing their good old days but for many it has been a difficult time, a time of
uncertainties, anxiety and the fear of the unknown. However, many of us are worrying
ourselves to new illnesses, but do not want to quit our bad habits and therefore slowly
allowing ourselves to be captured by the thoughts and uncertainties of our brain resulting
in emotional stress and instability.

Yet, amidst this growing anxiety, some of us are still working from home, exercising at
home, doing household chores, watching movies, TV shows or reading books. The power of
positive thinking is definitely something we do not give enough credit to and more often
do not even attempt to practice.

Positive thinking doesn't mean that you bury your head in the sand and ignore life's less

pleasant situations. Positive thinking just means that you approach unpleasantness in a
more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen sooner or later,
and the worst shall pass, as it always does.

Positive thinking helps one constantly and so count on what’s shining out there. It will help
to manage stress, to improve one’s health and to increase one’s life span. More importantly it
will help us to look forward to merrier days and live every single day with utmost contentment.
It gives us courage to face the unexpected in these challenging times. Positive emotions
broaden your sense of possibilities and open your mind, which in turn allows you to build
new skills and resources that can add values to your life.

By reducing your self-limiting prejudices, you will effectively release your brakes and
experience growth like you never would have imagined. Essentially, you can change your
entire life simply by harnessing the power of positive thinking.

To put it simply: seek joy, play often and pursue all forms of adventure that brings a smile
on your face. Your heart & brain will do the rest.

Virtual Environment Day Celebration

Half a year has passed since an invisible foe forever took away our freedom of movement
and we had to chain ourselves to the four walls of the house. But as always exclaimed by
our ancestors one decomposes for the nourishment of the other. Up until the end of 2019
we all were on a global mission to save earth. This day; 5th June was always celebrated
with resolutions to make our earth greener and cooler.

With this most significant and inevitable thought in the minds, under the leadership of
the newly elected student council, the students of Smart Indian School came together

with informative virtual presentations to educate their friends and parents on the
importance of biodiversity and our responsibility as a true human towards nature.
Upholding the theme of the year, ‘Time for Nature’ and ‘Celebrate the Biodiversity’, the
students from Grade 6 to 11 participated in a photo concoction competition blending

pictures of the plants grown in their own flats and balconies.

Father’s Day Celebration

Parents are the most precious gift of God to us. It is an honour to be able to show our
parents the love that they very much deserve, and for us to do so, special days have been
created especially for them. While mothers have Mother’s Day, which is celebrated all
over the world on different dates, father’s have Father’s Day, which is again celebrated
worldwide on different dates with the majority marking it every year on the third Sunday
of June.

As a token of gratification; honouring this parental bonding and love, students of Smart
Indian School made their Father’s Day special by engaging themselves in various
activities. He is always the unsung, upraised and unnoticed member, yet the most valuable
asset of any son or daughter. Imbibing and upholding these great thoughts in them, the
children of Smart Indian School honoured their fathers in the most elegant way on this
father’s day.
