MY GRANDMA
A candid conversation between a grandchild and his grandma.

CHILD: Grandma, are you a teacher?

GRANDMA: I don’t know. However, people come to me for some relaxation or relief.
C: What is there in a teacher which is not in you?

G: It is your job to find out dear child.

C: I see the same patience, smiling face, motherly touch, humility and words of motivation in all
my teachers.
G: A teacher is one who understands the needs of the listeners and gives more time to inculcate
human values into the learners along with academics.

C: What can you say about this mango seed?

G: Can you imagine that this simple mango seed will grow into a huge tree one day and give
thousands and thousands of sweet mangoes to millions of people in future and spread shade, peace
and harmony.

Can you imagine where this strength of becoming a huge tree is concealed in a very small mango
seed?

Start imagining your life in this mango seed. Be confident about your talents and use the opportunities
that you come across and flourish and grow like a huge mango tree facing all the odds and hail
others with your sweet fruits of humanity.
Take all the challenges of your life as opportunities and turn all your worries into happiness with
your unique approach of positivity. Consider you are a seed, full of potentials to grow big and give
shadow to millions as a successful leader and a successful human being.

C: My grandma was not less than a leader, teacher, a human being with full of positivity,
motivation, inspiration and support. Just like my favourite teacher my grandma is my best teacher
even now .She was not qualified academically but she had all the necessary qualities that few of
the present day teachers have .They all are our GURUS. Let’s love and respect all our gurus.

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwaraha,

Guru Saakshat Par Brahma, Tasmai Sree Gurave Namaha
Wish you all a very happy Guru Purnima

BASTILLE DAY

Smart Indian School celebrated the National Day of France, better known as
Bastille Day or Le Quatorze Juillet. The event dates back to the French Revolution
started in 1789 in the history of France. The virtual celebration kicked off with the

French National Anthem – ‘La Marseillaise’. The enthusiastic students started the
preparations from June. They made posters and lapbooks showing the rich cultural
heritage of France. It was a great experience for each and every one.

The children participated in the activities cheerfully and grades 1 to 5 took part in
colouring activity of the French flag. The digital platform shimmered the colours of
the French flag in the students’ costume. The national anthem was also sung in the
way the French follow it by having their unique hand posture. The students from
grades 6 to 11 took part in quiz competition and two students from grades 6 to 8
explained the importance of Bastille Day. The day turned out to be a memorable and
enlightening one.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING FOR STAFF

Smart Indian School turned the lockdown days productive for its staff by organizing
in-house training sessions. The initiation to equip teachers with new knowledge and
skills came from the management and the days of confinement were thus turned
beneficial for its staff. Each member of the team was given a turn to lead these ses-
sions that enhanced the overall development of the teaching fraternity at SIS. The
training sessions that demanded a lot of research and development helped the
teachers evolve from a teacher to a trainer. The training sessions were interactive
and each session concluded with a question and answer session where all got an
opportunity to express their thoughts and opinions.

TALKMASTERS

To hone the public speaking, leadership, communication and presentation skills Smart
Indian School initiated Talkmasters for all the members of the team. It is a replica

of Toastmasters which sharpens the power of speech. The teachers are divided into
teams and each team has mentors under whom the members of the team are trained
to upgrade their speaking skills. The members are delegated with several roles and
it also enhances their leadership qualities. It takes place on all days and this has
helped teachers to improve their oratory skills.
