Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. I am grateful for the chance to write to this first issue of the SSB Seni Travel magazine. Special thanks to the editors of Sekretariat Seni Budaya PMS' Creative Art Writing Department for taking the effort to collaborate with students enrolled in DTM 50163 Visitor Interpretation Service. May this collaboration provide polytechnic students with a good platform for obtaining experience and enhancing their writing talents. Each component addressed must therefore be addressed thoughtfully, as this publication will serve as a resource for introducing tourists to attractive places in Malaysia. The publication of this SSB Seni Travel magazine is an effort by the Sekretariat Seni Budaya to provide information on the art and culture of places in Malaysia and to act as a resource for the Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara and local tourist organisations. The enthusiasm and tireless effort of polytechnic educators will act as a catalyst for a yield in the commitment and excellence of educators in educating and assisting students. Hence, I believe that the publication of this magazine will encourage students to demonstrate their creative writing skills and abilities. In addition to developing their writing abilities, students learn to enhance their creative and critical thinking skills in terms of idea generation. Thus, the initiation of such a project will help students develop their abilities and prepare them for their future careers. Thank you. Preface iv In collaboration with students enrolled in DTM 50163 Visitor Interpretation Service, Sekretariat Seni Budaya PMS' Creative Art Writing Department aspires to develop a project on Malaysian art and culture in the form of a magazine. SSB Seni Travel magazine intended to emphasise the diverse art and culture of Malaysia's eastern coast community. We witnessed the richness of art and culture in each area we visited in this first edition of our magazine. It's a good thing we decided to visit the east coast during Ramadhan since it highlights more of their food culture and activities that locals normally perform during Ramadhan. We did study on the areas we wanted to see before traveling to the east coast. We are delighted to spend our Ramadhan month there. When we arrived to the east coast, we were intrigued by the art and culture that they had to offer. Our magazine strives to promote and provide information about local art and culture.

The crystal mosque is one of the tourist attractions located on Wan Man Island, Losong Panglima Perang, 21000 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. Construction on the crystal mosque began in 2006 and was completed in 2008. This building was inaugurated by Dato 'Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the time, the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia. It was constructed of iron and crystal glass, and it is capable of accommodating 1500 people at a time. A large number of visitors visited the mosque during school holidays and Muslim Eid, including Eid al-Fitr and Eid al Adha. Additionally, a number of facilities are available to visitors, such as internet access, wheelchair accessibility, and restrooms. Visitors need not be concerned about paying an entrance fee since there will be none. The mosque is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Any further enquiries, please contact: 09-6278888. Magnificient Kristal Mosque Muslim tourism researcher Din Duman (2011) argues that tourism is a purpose-driven activity. A person's purpose is of utmost importance in the framework of Islam. Accordingly, Duman(2011) states that, when an individual participates in tourism activities for the sake of Allah, the activity is considered an act of worship. Travelers and individuals may be fascinated by the experiences they receive while traveling and be able to experience both the dwarfism of their self and the grandeur of the nature that God created. 1 MASJID KRISTAL

The Terengganu State Museum was officially inaugurated on April 20, 1996, by the late Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafibillah Shah. There are four main blocks, a maritime museum, and five traditional houses located outside the museum, making it Southeast Asia's largest museum complex. The museum includes a main museum, a maritime museum, a fishery museum, four traditional houses, a botanical garden, and a Malay herbal garden. It was designed with a lovely garden landscape in mind in order to evoke Terengganu's glory, which continues to this day to be rich in cultural history. The building is located on a 27- hectare plot of land in Bukit Losong Kuala Terengganu. Terengganu's old castle has been incorporated into this complex's architecture. Among the many fascinating aspects of the Terengganu State Museum is the presence of the famous Terengganu inscription stone, also called Batu Bersurat. It was discovered by Syed Hussein Ghulam Al Bukhari in 1902 in Kampung Buloh, Hulu Terengganu. It is home to a variety of century-old artefacts and artworks, including textiles, historical artefacts, crafts, royal regalia, Islamic and contemporary arts, and weapons. A modern exploration of petroleum also forms part of the history of old and new Terengganu. Among the intriguing features of the museum is its large outdoor display area, which doubles as a peaceful and quiet landscaped garden that visitors are welcome to stroll at their leisure. Visitors interested in learning about Terengganu's history will find the museum admission fee to be reasonable. A Malaysian citizen can purchase a ticket for only RM5 for an adult and RM2 for a child. Additionally, non-citizens and foreigners are required to pay RM15 for adults and RM10 for children. Terengganu State Museum offers visitors a unique experience that is well worth the ticket price. Above Pictures from Terengganu State Museum Terengganu state museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Saturday to Thursday, but it is closed from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday due to Friday prayer, and it is also closed during Muslim Eid celebrations, Eid alfitr and Eid al Adha holidays. The company has been operating in Kuala Terengganu since 1980 and is a pioneer of the well-known batik industry in Malaysia. Noor Arfa’s success is based on the exciting and dynamic philosophy of its founders, Wan Mohd Ariffin Wan Long and his wife, Noor Hijerah Hanafiah who always wanted to uphold the batik industry to the world and help locals especially women to appear sophisticated, luxurious, and exclusive. The Noor Arfa Craft Complex offers packages where you can watch a batik painting demonstration as well as paint your own batik. They offer block making, glass crafting, Funland, and interesting packages including "Do It Yourself" and rental packages that include a seminar room, overnight packages, hall lease packages, wholesale, and international suppliers at Noor Arfa Craft Complex. A MUST-VISIT PLACE In Kuala Terengganu, Kampung Cina, DON'T WAIT, COME NOW! also known as Chinatown, has existed for more than 300 years, making it one of the oldest Chinatowns in Malaysia. Those who live here believe that there are descendants of those first Chinese who arrived and settled in Terengganu in the 16th century. We are still able to see a lot of old traditional buildings that are well preserved by the people here. These buildings serve as shops and homes for tourists and people who come here to visit. As well as that, some streets are decorated with umbrellas, murals, and nostalgic items for tourists to take pictures. A number of well preserved ancestral homes were also open for tourists to visit and learn about the way of life of the people that lived here a few generations ago. Visitors may also choose to enjoy some traditional food while listening to the history of Kampung Cina from the older generation. 7 CHINATOWN KUALA TERENGGANU

This area is well-known for its 'keropok lekor', as well as its many shops that sell 'keropok lekor', one of the most popular of which is Keropok Warisan Losong. In spite of the shop's long hours (8 am to 6 pm), it frequently closes early due to out of stock. Located on the side of the road, those who visit may not know which store to shop in. It is because all of the shops in this lot are well known for their distinctive 'keropok lekors'. It is common in this area to have the same prices, starting at RM 5 and rising to RM30. In these shops, crackers are sold at the same price as those produced in their factories.
