It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Zagaleta, an oasis of privilege and
luxury in the beautiful foothills of the Ronda mountains overlooking Spain’s
Costa del Sol, just minutes from Marbella and Puerto Banús.

Zagaleta is an innovative, eco-friendly, low-density, landmark estate founded
in 1990 by Enrique Pérez Flores. It integrates a maximum of 400 homes into

Our name is derived from the old Castillian word “zagala” meaning “young
shepherd girl”. It is fitting that Zagaleta is named after the women who once
populated this land and used it as a route connecting Marbella and Ronda.

The Old Course

Originally designed by renowned golf architect Bradford
Benz in 1991, the prestigious Zagaleta Old Course was
redesigned in 2016 by Marc Westenborg. His brief was
to create a championship-standard course on a verdant
carpet that follows the undulating contours of the hills
on the estate.
The intimate course follows a lush valley within an
amphitheatre of wooded hills and rising peaks, where
deer graze in the lush scenery and mesmerising views
to the sea and Marbella come into view as the game
progresses. This is a course of classic elegance and
panoramic picture postcard surroundings.
Immaculate greens are reached via fairways dotted
with bunkers, water features and natural and man-
made hazards. The result is a highly rewarding golfing
experience that challenges advanced players while
nurturing those new to the game.

The New Course

This par-70 course was inaugurated in 2005 and truly
merges golf with nature thanks to designer Steve
Marnoch, who took great care to ensure the course
blends in with its beautiful surroundings.
The New Course is a playful but dramatic 18-holes of
wonderful obstacles and sharp doglegs. It offers more
dramatic gradients than the Old Course, adding a new
dimension to the course’s character and providing
unforgettable sights along the way.
It was also very important to give the New Course its
own unique feel to offer a different golfing experience
to that of the Old Course. As a result golfers enjoy a
genuine choice of courses to suit any mood or skill
level on this 36-hole parkland oasis.

Clubhouse Society

The two clubhouses are the social hubs of Zagaleta,

a series of bars and lounges, a pavilion for special

Zagaleta’s lakes and in the surrounding landscape,

The immaculate Zagaleta Riding Club is like an
elegant country home, offering first-class equestrian
facilities in a peaceful, verdant setting. This is a

Expert coaching is available for children and adults,
from beginners to advanced riders up to competition
