The Beauty of Nature Often leaves us Spellbound

Swarnava Pal
S/o Subhabrata Pal
DP Process, MCPI

Introduction

“All things are artificial, for nature is the art of god”

When I think about the beauty of nature, immediately the vision of the tour through the vast tea garden, jungle,
mountain and their snow covered peaks floated in my mind. The beautiful tour in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh to
the perfect element.

We went to Guwahati is Assam on a flight. Even throughout the flight the image of the dancing cotton puff like clouds

is evergreen in my memory bank. When the plane was descending it was fascinating to watch the toy-like houses and
rivers which looked like thin strands of silvery ribbons. From Guwahati we went to the lush green forest of Kaziranga
and then entered God’s own Paradise, Arunachal Pradesh. It was the most prized possession in my memory.

The Beauty of Nature – Arunachal Pradesh

“In all things of nature

There is something

Of the marvelous”

-Aristotle

The Beginning of the journey: Assam

Along the banks of Bramhaputra Guwahati is a booming city in Assam containing many holy and religious places. We
visited one of the places full of historical, architectural and spiritual importance as well as a beautiful scenic view, the
Kamakhya Temple. It is situated on the Nilachal Hills also known as the Kamagiri Hills. The exquisite Hindu architecture
was fascinating. There is an ancient legend surrounding the Nilachal Hills. We also visited the Umananda Temple on a
picturesque island known as the Peacock Island. On the river the sun disappeared at the horizon just like →

“A time in the early evening each day

Where heaven reaches down to Earth

And we all are reunited again.”

The Forest of Kaziranga

“Behold the Beauty

Look beyond the winding trail

Peaceful forest path”

- James Milstid

From Guwahati we went to the well-known forest in India, the Kaziranga National Park. On seeing the beautiful lush
green vegetation and vast picturesque grasslands where the rhinoceroses were grazing from the bus window made
my heart skip with excitement. We went on a safari in a jeep. We spotted many animals and lots of beautiful birds
in the heart of the forest. We also saw many more one-horned rhinoceroses, the main attraction of Kaziranga. I was
spellbound by seeing some of the exotic creations of Mother Nature.

We need to conserve nature as constantly the beauty of nature is being demolished by the poachers who kills the
animals and every day, hundreds of trees are cut down in some part of the world or other.

The entrance to Arunachal Pradesh: Bhalukpong

“If you truly love nature

You will find beauty everywhere”

Surrounded by mystic blue hills and evergreen forest, Bhalukpong is situated on the banks of river Jia Bharali. It is a
nature lover’s paradise. The KamengRiver running in the forest makes the town even more attractive.Bhalukpung has
dense lush green forests and immense scenic beauty. We went for a walk along the banks of the river Kameng whose
bed was strewn with shiny white pebbles that glittered in the sunlight. It was enthralling to see the beautiful things
nature can produce.

The Journey upward

“The mountains are the beginning and end

Of all natural scenery”

- John Ruskin

135

The next day we continued our journey to the beautiful mountains of Dirangthrough Bomdilla.First we went to the Tipi
Orchid garden. It contains hundreds of vibrant and colourful orchids of the wildest dreams. Besides orchids there were
also exotic plants like Nepenthes and Opuntia.

On the way we saw the breathtakingly beautiful monastery in Bomdilla which had a layer of peaceful atmosphere
surrounding it. In Dirang also there was a huge and colourful monastery situated on a hill which we visited. The beauty
of the monastery further enhanced the mightiness of the mountains. Along the valleys of the mountains there were
rows of orange trees laden with juicy fruits. A small stream gurgled through the valley sounding like enchanting music.
Many people camped in the valley. You can visualize how beautiful and picturesque it looked.

The Heaven of beauty: Tawang

“To appreciate the Beauty of a snowflakeIt is necessary to

Standout in

The cold”

- Aristotle

The falling snow, the icicles reaching the ground like stalactites is an element of extreme beauty. Somehow in Tawang
one can feel close proximity to God. The dazzling white snow lying all over the surface of the earth glittered in the sun
light.

I was overwhelmed when we arrived at the Sela Pass and saw the Sela Lake for the first time. The frozen surface of
the lake was enchanting. Then we went to the Bumla Pass, the Indo-Chinese border. This place seems to suggest that
though man can create boundaries, there is no boundary for nature. It spreads it’s magic everywhere.

The Lake of Paradise: Sungaster Lake

We drove across the wonderful snow covered mountains and reached the SUngaster Lake or Madhuri Lake which
was formed by a natural apocalypse. The lake was extremely beautiful tucked away in a valley of the snow covered
peaks. Many ducks which we later knew to be Golden Ducks were swimming in the clear water. The lake seemed to
be carved out by God himself and the ducks were like Birds of Paradise in the heaven of nature.

“Not in any flowering tree

That springs from earthly sod,

But in the garden where they dwell,

The Paradise of God.”

- Christina Rossetti

At last I came back with the memories of boundless beauties of nature that I can never forget.
