About Us

The Stuart Canvas Group has been serving the haulage industry for over 40 years. Over these
years the haulage industry has changed significantly and the group has changed with it,
investing heavily in new machinery and technology. This allows us to design and
manufacture nearly all types of covers from a number of materials.

We can offer a wide range of haulage products including; tension curtains, rollover sheets, net-
ting, filter sheets, tarpaulins, load restraints, trailer covers, temporary buildings and

retractable tunnels. All of our products are made to measure to enable us to meet your
specific needs.

Stuart Canvas Ltd, A & J Bennett Ltd and Mudfords Ltd form our group which is built apon an
ethos of producing quality product which are proudly manufactured in the UK. The group has

60,000sqft of purpose built manufacturing facilities across 3 sites in Warrington,
Sheffield and St Helens. This provides us with high levels of quality control with quick

turnaround times.

We can offer a range of haulage curtain options. Using only the best panama weave PVC,
we have been producing curtains for the transport industry for over 40 years. We have built
a reputation for producing bespoke products to suit your requirements.

Tension Curtains Our pocketed curtains are made from
910 gsm PVC with eyelets every two feet.

Tension curtains offer the perfect place to advertise to thousands of people as your lorry’s
make there way up and down supply chain routes across the UK and beyond.

We can offer a full in-house design and manufacture service for tension curtains to ensure
they really stand out on the road.

We can sign write company logos and wording which you require directly on to the curtains
by our highly skilled in-house expert team of sign-writers.

We can also offer a full-colour digital print service. This allows for large high definition images
and complex designs to be printed on the curtain material. All of the printing design work is
completed in-house to ensure that our highest levels of quality control are met.

Our teams in St. Helens, Sheffield and Warrington have the capabilities to produce one off
designs to entire fleets.

Rollover & Filter Sheets

Rollover Sheets
We produce replacement rollover sheets from high quality grade PVC which is durable,
weatherproof and UV stabilised to reduce colour fading. Our rollover sheets are made to
measure to ensure the correct fit for your tipper unit. Made from a minimum weight PVC
of 580gsm up to 900gsm. Our covers are competitively priced and won’t be beaten on quality.

Filter Sheets
Our filter sheets are made from breathable material which is highly durable and are made with
reinforced roped hems. Our filter sheets are ideal for the transportation of sawdust and other
fine materials. Filter sheets can be used in conjunction with PVC rollover top sheets to create
a secure and weatherproof cover.

Fitting
We offer a full fitting service for all rollover covers and tension curtains. This can be done in
either our Warrington or St. Helens units or on your own site. Please contact us for more

Trailer Covers

At Stuart Canvas we can produce trailer covers to suit any size from a standard boxed to
bespoke to pick up. All of our covers are made-to-measure and produced to the highest
specification. Our waterproof trailer covers are competitively priced and made from a
minimum weight of 580gsm to a maximum of 900gsm PVC.

The covers can be produced in a variety of colours and as standard will come complete
with reinforced hems, eyelets and shock cord. We can provide branding on the cover with
our MUTOH printing machine to promote your business, either printing directly onto
white PVC or using high-quality vinyl stickers on coloured PVC. This is an excellent
opportunity to promote your company logo or website.

For local customers, we can arrange a site visit to measure your trailer, or simply have
someone bring the trailer to one of our units in Warrington, St. Helens or Sheffield to have
a member of our technical team to measure.

Ratchet Straps & Lashings

At Stuart Canvas we can produce and supply a large number of strappings, ratchets and rope
to suit any of your needs and requirements.

Our straps are made to measure in our factory and we can add ratchets, hooks or loops to
whatever lengths you require. All our straps use high quality materials and are finished using
cross thread to ensure maximum durability. We manufacture from 800kg to 5 tonne breaking
force and items can be made to order to ensure you have the preferred colour, load rating,
attachments and specification.

Stuart Canvas can offer a range of Load Binders, Interior Straps Netting, Chains and Lashings.

We can also offer a range of polypropylene rope, which is rot and shrink resilient, it is also
resistant to chemicals and ideal for handling in both the wet and dry, we offer a solution to
any load restraint and handling need.

Netting

Truck Nets
We produce PVC fine mesh net made to the customer specification, this can include additional
ropes and lettering. The typical main uses for this kind of netting are covering skips and during
waste paper transport. We have also produced net for sawdust and chippings transportation.

Truck net can be used in conjunction with a rollover PVC cover to create a waterproof seal.

Brick Nets
These nets are strong and durable and with 21/2” square knot to knot netting, mounted on 8mm
border rope with cords spliced to border at 1m approx. centres. Brick nets are useful for many
applications, including the transportation of bricks, compost bags and other such compact
products.

Skip Nets
We also work with the construction industry to supply netting for skips. Made to measure with
bespoke printing options available.

Pallet & Stillage Covers

Our Pallet, Stillage and Dunnage Covers are ideal for protecting products in storage or during
transit. This type of solution allows products to be fully weather protected and is ideal for
outside storage.

Our covers are designed to allow easy access and allow the stillage to be stacked.

Our pallet and stillage covers are widely used across the automotive and construction industry
and have proven to offer significant return of investment to our clients who offer supply chain
services.

All our covers are reusable and is a fantastic way of promoting your green credentials. Using
our protective covers is a great way to reduce shrink wrap usage, as they can be used time and
time again.

Covers can include various branding, cost centre coding and document pouches for product
identification. We have also branded products with a “reusable cover” stencil, to identify assets
and ensure items are reused and returned to the relevant site/ branch.

Retractable Tunnels

Our retractable tunnels offer great protection from the elements when unloading goods. They
can serve as an extra storage facility, whilst offering an economic weatherproof shelter which
is easy to operate and manoeuvre if required.

Tunnels can be branded to promote companies or goods and the main PVC body comes in a
variety of colours to suit. Items are ideal to maximise storage space and can be produced on
wheels (fixed or swivel) or in a fixed / lift proof tracking if required.

Commercial Inspection Pit Cover

Stuart Canvas has designed a solution to safeguard operatives against accidents & injuries
surounding open inspection pits.

Our system operates with a retractable tunnel running along the pit jack guide, offering easy
deployment & prevents operatives from entering or falling into the open pits. Our pit covers can
be produce as stand-alone framework (paint optional) or complete with a branded cover.
Protection padding can also be supplied to allow vehicle cabs to be manoeuvred safely.
