Leong Cheng En, piano Ce qu'a vu le vent d'Ouest C. Debussy (1862-1918) No. 7 from Prelude Book 1 Leong Cheng En, currently a final year student having Bachelor of Degree in Music in University of Malaya. His hometown is at Kampar, which is a district of Perak. He started learning piano when he was at the age of 5 but took a few breaks from the learning process until 12, that time which he failed his ABRSM Grade 7 Piano. It took some time for him to regain motivation to continue his music journey. He is now under the tutelage of Dr. Feng-Hsu Lee for his principal study classical piano performance. He is a versatile musician by involving actively in the Gamelan performance.


Tan Wei Xin, piano Danzas fantasticas, Op. 22 J. Turina (1882-1949) III. Orgia My name is Tan Wei Xin. I am currently a Year 3 music student in University of Malaya. Hailing from Parit Buntar, a small town in Perak. I have been learning piano since I was 7 years old. I am majoring in Classical Piano and currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Wang I-Ta. I had the privilege of participating in a piano master class led by the renowned pianist and musician, Mr. Ng Chong Lim. Additionally, I contributed as a soprano member to the UM Choir ensemble for the performance in the UM Music Showcase 2023. Moreover, I had the opportunity to participate in the "MCE International Choir Festival 2022, Conductor's Symposium" which was led by Thomas Caplin.


Thang Ran Xuan, piano 1 Selections from Mother Goose Suite M. Ravel (1875-1937) III Laideronette, impératrice des pagodes (Little Ugly Girl, Empress of the Pagodas) V Le Jardin féerique (The Fairy Garden) Ran Xuan is a third-year student of Bachelor in Music at UPM. She majored in piano and minored in cello. Currently, she’s under the guidance of Dr Elaine Yap Sin Yee. She had taken part in UCSI University International Festival and Piano Competition 2020 and was awarded a silver award in the Young Artist Category.


Kelly Lim Wan Xuan, piano 2 Selections from Mother Goose Suite M. Ravel (1875-1937) III Laideronette, impératrice des pagodes (Little Ugly Girl, Empress of the Pagodas) V Le Jardin féerique (The Fairy Garden) Kelly Lim Wan Xuan was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur and is currently a thirdyear student of Bachelor of Music (Hons.) at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is now learning piano duo performance under the tutelage of Dr Yap Sin Yee. She started learning piano at the age of 10. Back then, Kelly actively joined a piano duet performance with one of her friends every year during the annual concert organized by her previous piano teacher, Ms Clara Lee Mun Wan before she moved to Rawang. Therefore, she was slowly developing her passion for piano duet playing and kept engaging herself in piano duet performance which always made her find it very fun after many words of encouragement from Ms Clara. Previously, Kelly also performed many classical piano pieces for her Lunch Time Recital since she entered UPM in her first year of university. Besides that, she has also been in the midst of preparing for her upcoming ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Examination recently with her private piano tutor, Mr Lee Pui Yen.


In the past, she participated in Asia Music Piano Competition 2015 which was held at UCSI University and was awarded a bronze medal in the young artist category. Kelly and her other members of UPM Music Department Choir also participated in MCE National Virtual Choir Competition 2021 during the lockdown which was organized by Young Choral Academy and won a silver-A medal in the open category. Apart from that, she got herself involved in a lot of music community programs/projects too and was one of the committee members in UPM Music for Community and served as an assistant in “Come Together: A music Project of Hope and Happiness” community project organized by UPM Music Department. In this music community project, Kelly also played a role as a soprano singer for this song, "Come Together" composed and written by Muhammad Haziq Bin Muhyidin.


Joan Lew Ying Hui, piano Étincelles, Op. 36, No. 6 M. Moszkowski (1854-1925) Joan Lew Ying Hui started her piano playing at the age of 9 and has been serving for church service and choirs as a pianist since young. She won Gold prize in the preliminary round, and subsequently the 3rd prize in the final round of the Malaysian Piano Competition organized by the Euroasia Association of Performing Arts. Currently, she is studying at Universiti Malaya to pursue her Bachelor Degree of Music, majoring in Classical piano under the tutelage of Dr. Poon Chiew Hwa. She also performed in the music showcase performance organized by Universiti Malaya as piano solo and piano duet in 2022 and 2023. She had the privilege of attending a piano masterclass with esteemed musician, Dr. Poom Prommachat.


Ng Xing Yi, piano First movement from Sonata in F major, Hob. XVI:23 J. Haydn (1732-1809) Ng Xing Yi obtained a Diploma in Music from the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA), started working as a music teacher in 2019 and also served as a pianist in her church. Currently pursuing her Bachelor Degree in Music at the Universiti Malaya, majoring in classical piano under the tutelage of Dr. Poon Chiew Hwa. She joined the Yin Qi choir in 2019 and is currently the Alto section leader. She was involved in multiple productions including concerts and recordings under Yin Qi Chamber Singers in 2022. She was also one of the conductors in the “10 Christian Conductors Concert” organized by Yin Qi in February 2023.


Wong Siow Chi, flute/ saxophone Madrigal for flute and piano P. Gaubert (1879-1941) Petit mari petite femme G. Bizet (1838-1875) from Jeux d’enfant (arranged for flute, violin and piano by Wong Chee Yean) Wong Siow Chi is currently a second-year student at the Department of Music at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She takes the flute as her major instrument and is under the guidance of Mr. Foo Chie Haur. She also holds a Diploma from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris as a saxophonist. She is also a flutist in the Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra. Besides, she also joins the UPM Jazz Band as a saxophonist.


Teh Shu Ting, violin Petit mari petite femme G. Bizet (1838-1875) from Jeux d’enfant (arranged for flute, violin and piano by Wong Chee Yean) Teh Shu Ting was born in Seremban, is currently a second-year music student at Department of Music of Universiti Putra Malaysia, majoring in violin under the guidance of Mr. Gerald Ng Kea Chye. She began playing violin at the age of 11 with Ms. Liyana and Mr. Azam Fadley. In 2021, she holds Grade 8 from Trinity College of London. She also learned piano with Ms. Lee Yet Mei as a minor instrument and holds Grade 7 from Trinity College of London.


Esther Heng E See, piano Madrigal for flute and piano P. Gaubert (1879-1941) Petit mari petite femme G. Bizet (1838-1875) from Jeux d’enfant (arranged for flute, violin and piano by Wong Chee Yean) Esther Heng E See, from Miri, Sarawak, is currently a second-year music student at UPM, majoring in classical piano under the guidance of Mr Wong Chee Yean. Besides piano, she plays flute as her minor instrument. Esther started learning piano at the age of 5 with Ms. Kathryn Chiam, later continuing with Mrs. Susie Hii. She completed her ABRSM Grade 8 piano examination at the age of 15 and Trinity ATCL at the age of 18. In addition, she actively participates in church’s music service. Throughout the time, Esther participated in few competitions. She has won silver award in the preliminary round of the Euroasia Piano Competition 2020 and first prize in the 2020 National Music Competition (19-22 years old category) organised by USCI Malaysia.


Kelly Yong Kai Li, piano From The Garden of Eden W. Bolcom (1938- ) III. The Serpent’s Kiss Kelly Yong Kai Li is currently a final-year student at Universiti Malaya, under the tutelage of Dr. Poon Chiew Hwa. She received her Associate and Licentiate performance diplomas with distinction from Trinity College London in 2015 and 2016, respectively. She is a collaborative pianist, working with choirs, worship teams, vocalists, and instrumentalists. She was the president, conductor, and pianist in SMK Chung Hua Miri. Under her leadership, the choir achieved multiple championship wins from 2014 to 2018. Additionally, she attained the Best Conductor Award in the Miri Inter-School Patriotic Song Choir Competition in 2017. She had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with numerous talented pianists from around the world, including Luu Hong Quang, Jacqueline Yeung, Krzysztof Slomiak, Loo Bang Hean and Ng Chong Lim.


Ng Hoong Nie, piano Gargoyles, Op. 29 L. Liebermann (1962 - ) III. Allegro moderato IV. Presto feroce Holding the Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) for piano, Hoong Nie is currently a final year student from University of Malaya, majoring in classical piano under the tutelage of Dr. Feng-Hsu Lee. He had won prizes in numerous piano competitions and was awarded the POSCO Asia Fellowship in 2021.He had piano masterclasses with Anna Fedorova, Dr. Poon Prommachart and Mr. Ng Chong Lim. He also showed great musical versatility by actively involving in other music ensembles such as choir, symphony orchestra and other piano collaborative work. He is also a percussionist of the Kinta Valley Wind Orchestra, Ipoh.


Janelle Lee Sze Ean, soprano 1 Duetto buffo di due gatti G. Rossini (1792-1868) Born and raised in Seremban, Janelle Lee is currently a first year music student majoring in Classical Voice under the tutelage of Dr Ang Mei Foong. She previously studied and obtained her ABRSM Grade 8 Classical Voice under the guidance of Mr Woon Chi Choong. Besides singing, she also plays the piano. She obtained her ATCL Diploma in Piano Performance under Ms Jenny Woon Su Yien. Since coming to UPM, she has been actively singing in many recitals and playing with many vocalists and instrumentalists as a piano collaborator.


Jessica Khor Li May, soprano 2 Duetto buffo di due gatti G. Rossini (1792-1868) Jessica Khor Li May is a first-year student from the Bachelor's Degree of Music, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She is currently majoring in classical vocal under the tutelage of Ms. How Dim Sy.


Tan Lih Wen, piano Duetto buffo di due gatti G. Rossini (1792-1868) Tan Lih Wen began her musical journey at the age of six. Now she is a first year music student in UPM Music Department. She is now learning under the guidance of Dr. Elaine Yap Sin Yee. Besides piano, she plays cello as her minor instrument. For Lih Wen, music is a never-ending journey. She is full of expectations for the future, hoping to continue to deepen her musical expression and explore into a broader musical field.
