Technology

Ask us about technology time savers, what is here and what is
new for technology (including support for remote working)

Technology Engagement & Consultancy (TEC) provides
technology support to make it easier to do business as part of
the SJP community and improve the client journey. We
provide the advice and guidance necessary to make the right IT
decisions for your practice. Wherever you are on this journey,
we will support you in this process.

Business Assurance

The Relationship Managers are part of the BA team and are
field based. They are a link between BA and the Partners, PSS
and FMT. Their role is to improve QoD across the locations
for which they have responsibility. Geoff Gaunt heads up the
team in the North and Central and is responsible for all
locations in Scotland, Leeds, Manchester and Solihull.
Jane Maddocks is responsible for Newcastle and
Liverpool. The day to day activities involve running QoD
workshops, consulting on individual cases, provided 1-2-1
support for Partners/PSS and providing support for Transition
Partners. A large part of their work involves upskilling and
development of PSS in respect of QoD issues.

Technical Connections

Technical connections provide Partners with access to the best
technical and accreditation support in UK financial services.
They do this through appropriate and relevant Accreditation
services, Professional development including Chartered value
support, and free access to industry leading self-select options
through Techlink.
Kelly is here to support you with these activities and ensure
every Partner understands the benefits this service can provide
to them and their Clients.

Marketing Consultancy

The Marketing Consultancy collectively look after the locations
within the Northern area to help deliver strategic marketing
consultancy.
They work closely to implement a structured marketing
knowledge development programme to increase core
marketing skills and capability across the Partnership,
Partnership Support Staff and with Partnership Development
Managers. Helping Partner Practices to develop their own
marketing plans, campaign initiatives and to access the
Cirencester services.
Vanita and Natalie also work with the central marketing team
to maximise the deployment and impact of the Corporate
Marketing Strategy including on areas such as corporate
campaigns and with existing and new proposition launches
(e.g. Tax Year-end Private Clients, Rowan Dartington,
Entrepreneurs Club, Client Banking & Intergenerational
Wealth).

Head of PSS

Carolyn is responsible for supporting the learning and
development of the PSS, with particular focus on the
Accreditation Framework, Quality of Documentation and
Quality of Business Submission. As we all know, the PSS are
vital and so valuable to our business. Highly skilled, efficient,
happy and loyal PSS result in increased productivity and
reduced errors across the business.
Carolyn offers one to one clinic sessions, larger scale forums,
and practice visits to support Partners, Advisers and PSS.
Carolyn also provide support with administration centre case
escalation issues.

Private Clients

The Private Client Consultancy Team are here to help partners
secure new business and retain existing business from high net
worth clients. We do this by working alongside partners where
a client has £2 million with SJP, or an investable wealth
opportunity of £2 million.
This can take the form of meeting the client alongside the
partner to discuss the additional benefits for Private Clients
that SJP can offer, discussing the case with the partner to
analyse planning ideas that will fit the case or making referrals
to other people, whether within the Private Client division or
the wider business, that will give a partner the best chance of
securing or retaining the client.

HR

The aim of the Practice HR Consultancy Service is to be
Partners’ first choice for professional HR information,
guidance and consultancy solutions helping them to grow their
business. The service helps Partners to maximise their
productivity and grow their business through their people,
optimum structures and efficient working practices.
The service is delivered across multiple channels, including
guidance and sample documents available from dedicated
intranet pages; a telephone-based consultancy and mezzanine
service for everyday HR questions and issues; and a face to face
regional consultancy service to work with Partners in meeting
their specific practical and strategic HR-related objectives.

Flagstone

Flagstone is an FCA Regulated online Cash Platform enabling
clients to access over 40 Banks and their own accounts in one
place through one application.
Clients can not only maximise the interest they can earn on
their cash but also spread it across multiple institutions to take
full advantage of their FSCS Protection. As the Adviser you will
also have full oversight of the Clients total cash holdings.

Partner Finance Consultancy

The Partner Finance Consultancy team are here to support and
guide Partner’s through their business needs when it comes to
Business Sale and Purchase, Business Restructures including
mergers/de mergers, buy ins/buy outs, Private Client
Transfers and Business Development Loan requests. Our
experienced team offer a range of services including bespoke
121/group consultancy clinics, location hosted workshops and
peer group sessions, as well as a support service to assist with
immediate queries and questions.

Transition

The Transition Team are here to support a Partner and their
business in the initial period, to make the move across to St
James’s Place. The Transition Partnership Development
Managers (PDMT) will work with Advisers and Partners, to
understand what their goals are and - through working with
them on their Business Plan – provide specific development,
training and support to allow them to build a sustainable
business here at SJP.
They are also Regulated PDM’s who will work through all
areas of the SJP T&C regime to move Advisers and Partners to
Competent Adviser Status. Once CAS is achieved and the
business shows sustainability, the PDMT will then pass the
Partner across to the location PDM.

Academy

The Academy delivers highly productive wealth advice professionals
to the Partnership. Our role is to identify, engage, train and develop
diverse and driven individuals into qualified and competent wealth
advice professionals.

We are looking for candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds,
who are keen to change career and either join an existing practice as
an Adviser or set up their own practice.

We work with a number of Partners who are interested in
developing a succession plan for their business by bringing an adviser
in, or simply to set up a client sharing initiative to help them with
their servicing strategy.

The Academy cover the cost of the training, as well as an available
package for Academy Advisers of £6,000, and Academy Partners
£30,000 of financial support.

The initial training stage lasts for 6 months in a classroom setting,
and candidates will use this time to pass their exams and build their
skills, so they can become client facing from month 7.
