1.0 Introduction of proposal for book portfolio
A book portfolio is a portfolio that is specifically designed to showcase a person's best work.
Architects, photographers, artists, and other professionals in related fields can use a book
portfolio. They are generally composed of enormous photographs that are dispersed
throughout the book in order to present the best work in the most appealing manner possible.
Book portfolios are typically built with a hardcover or perfect bound binding because these
types of binding are the most expert, but it can also depend on the type of book portfolio
you are aiming to make.
Book portfolios are often more edited, more well thought out, and provide a more thorough
reason for each choice of image that is exhibited due to the high expense and difficulty of
updating or fixing them compared to internet and e-book portfolios since they are printed.
Printing is the best way to realize your true creative vision and guarantee that potential
buyers see your work as it was intended to be seen because it is not limited by screen or
device size.
It is recommended that portfolio books include between 20 and 40 pages and relevant images
of you working on a project or its results. To ensure that your artwork is as clear as possible
to the viewer, use high-resolution photos.
2.0 Concept and Scope
2.1 Concept (Mixed Media)
Different mediums or elements are combined to create a single work of art known as mixed
media. Mixed media art, for instance, is a piece of artwork that blends an acrylic painting
with fabric and paper.
Mixed media gives the flexibility for the newer materials in conjunction with older
materials to be explored, and a wider range of products, arts and crafts can be created.
Painting with Mixed Media excels in its extensive demonstration of a variety of methods,
including painting, sketching, layering, collage, texturizing, graffito, creating the look of
peeled paint, nonprinting, frottage, rubbing, slicing, weaving, and more.

2.2 Scope
The scope of a subject is the amount to which it is covered in a book, programme,
conversation, lecture, etc. The work I completed for my Diploma in Digital Arts at
Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, including the basics of drawing, typography, digital
imaging, illustration, 2D animation, and 3D animation, will be featured in the book portfolio.
There will also be personal projects based on my interests and my profession as a graphic
designer; some of the related topics will be combined under a single broad heading.
2.2.1 Traditional Drawing
The three types of traditional drawings that will be presented are portraits,
landscapes, and objects, with portraits having the most examples of each.
Pencils, colored pencils, pens, and watercolors are just a few examples of
the art materials utilized.
2.2.2 Animation
Animation is a style of visual art that creates the illusion of movement by
displaying successive images quickly. Each frame or graphic is displayed
repeatedly, sometimes 24 times per second, to create this effect. Drawing
for animation, 2D animation, and 3D animation will be divided into three
categories for the portfolio's animation part.
We learned how to add gesture and expression to our drawings in the
drawing for animation course. We also looked at how to make visual
sequences by emphasising structure and movement in the body. This
showed us how to create characters and sketch them in lively positions.
2D animation is the practise of mimicking movement in a two-dimensional
space. Characters, animals, FX, and backgrounds are all covered. Even
though this approach is sometimes referred to as "traditional animation,"
current 2D production has moved beyond pencil and paper hand-drawn
procedures to the use of digital techniques using computer programmes
like Toon Boom Harmony or Adobe Animate. Sketching, character
design, storyboarding, and scene animation are additional abilities
acquired through 2D animation.

2.2.3 Typographic
Typography is the design or choice of letter shapes that will be arranged
into words and phrases and printed as blocks of type on a page.
Typography is the art of positioning letters and text so that the reader can
easily read, understand, and find the material visually pleasing. It involves
typeface appearance, style, and structure, with the goal of evoking
particular feelings and communicating particular messages. Every type of
design, both print and digital, depends on it. In graphic design, typography
serves two fundamental objectives. The first is to encourage legibility,
while the second is to assist in expressing a design piece's message, tone,
and mood. Aesthetics play a role in typography's additional purpose.
2.2.4 Digital Imaging
Digital imaging is a broad phrase that refers to the electronic capture of
images, their transformation into a collection of numbers, their storage in
a computer, and their manipulation by computer programmes. In contrast
to the 10–20 minutes it takes to set up and process film imaging, using
digital imaging enables us to obtain images nearly instantly. There are two
types of digital image files: raster and vector. Knowing each format's
characteristics might help you choose the one that is best for your project
because each format has benefits and drawbacks that apply to different
scenarios.
2.2.5 Illustration
An artist's visualization is called an illustration. Each picture aims to
clarify facts. It might be a collage, a drawing, or a picture. It is irrelevant.
as long as its objective to represent facts and information in a visual
manner is maintained. An illustration is not the same thing as a work of
art. Art paintings do not relate to any knowledge, whereas illustrations are
used to graphically explain concepts. They can be interpreted in several
ways. A story's artwork may either enhance it (like a newspaper photo
does) or fully replace the need for prose (like an infographic).
3
3.0 Layout
Layout design is the process of arranging text and graphic components on a page or screen
in a way that will catch the reader's attention and effectively communicate information.
Creating visual points of interest that lead the reader through a piece of material without
obscuring its message, good layout design is both dynamic and clear. Text, picture, line,
form, and white space are the five components that make up a layout design. The Mondrian
layout, circus layout, multi-panel layout, silhouette layout, big-type layout, alphabet-
inspired layout, copy heavy layout, frame layout, rebus layout, and image window layout
are only a few examples of the different page layout styles.

Conclusion
In order to attract potential employers, it is necessary for persons in the creative business
to showcase their greatest work in a book portfolio of 20 to 40 pages. The illustrations in the
book should be large, clearly described, and meticulously made in line with our aesthetic.
I've decided to use the notion of mixed media for my own book portfolio.
Relevant subjects should be chosen for a book portfolio to be planned more effectively.
The facts about the book portfolio's owner, such as their biographical information and
educational background, as well as the projects they have worked on, are some of the most
crucial components. My book portfolio will cover a range of work, including conventional
art, digital drawing, animation, typography, and digital photography. For added distinction,
other hobbies and accolades might be included.
Last but not least, layout preparation is crucial since it determines how viewers will see
our portfolio. Each element on a page may be arranged in a way that directs the reader's gaze
in the direction we desire. The interest of the audience may be maintained with an attractive
and simple layout.
