"Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) dates back
thousands of years and has remained mostly
unchanged throughout time. Its primary premise is
that vital life energy known as Qi flows through the
body. Any Qi imbalance might result in sickness and
illness. An adjustment in the opposing and
complementary forces that make up the Qi is
regarded to be the most typical cause of this
imbalance. These are referred to as yin and yang."
All of these advancements in traditional Chinese medicine's
applied science are the result of a thorough and effective
investigation of medical science's fundamentals. This has
given everyone a better grasp of the structure, difficulties
associated with the human body's functioning, and study
into the structure and function of anomalies in the body,
also known as pathological alterations.

HISTORY
Traditional Chinese
Medicine in Modern Era
Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, along with massage, diet, herbal medicine,
bleeding and moxibustion, evolved over the next few decades to become a mainstream medical
practice in China. Traditional Chinese medicine was regarded to be plagued with superstition in
the 17th century and there was a fall in interest in traditional treatments. Acupuncture fell out of
favour with the rise of Western medicine in the twentieth century and it was eventually abolished
in China in 1929.
Acupuncture and other traditional remedies were resurrected by the new government in 1949
and research center began to establish in China in the 1970s a New York Times journalist was
treated with Chinese Medicine. He was so delighted with this treatment and recuperation that he
wrote an article about it, which gained acupuncture a lot of attention and speculation in the west.
Most Chinese hospitals now provide fully integrated Western and Chinese medicine. Patients
may, for example, have western medical procedures and be prescribed Chinese herbal medicine
to aid in their recuperation or they may be treated with acupuncture and massage to reduce
discomfort. This fusion of Western and Chinese medicine exemplifies China's amazing medical
progress.
When a new framework or group of ideas is formed in Chinese medicine, unlike in Western
medicine, the old way of thinking or framework is not thrown out but rather combined with all
the other concepts so that a practitioner can have multiple ways of treating a problem and if one
approach does not help the patient, the practitioner can approach it in a different manner.

SOYBEAN
Soybeans (Glycine max) are the source of soy. Beans
are a type of legume native to China. Soy protein, soy
milk, and soy fibre can all be made from them. Soy
includes isoflavones, which are changed to
phytoestrogens in the body. The molecular structure
of phytoestrogen molecules is similar to that of
oestrogen. These phytoestrogens can sometimes
mimic the effects of oestrogen. In some situations,
phytoestrogens can reduce estrogen's effects. High
cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease,
diabetes, menopause symptoms, and premenstrual
syndrome are all treated with soy (PMS). Many other
ailments are treated with it, however there is little
scientific evidence to back up many of these claims.
HOW SOYBEANS ARE USED
AS FOOD ?
SOY MILK:Soy milk, which like cow's milk, is beneficial to
those who cannot digest or are allergic to cow's milk. Soy
milk has the same amount of protein as cow's milk, but it is
lower in calcium. Making soy milk is as simple as gradually
stirring 8 cups cold water into 2 cups soy flour. Allow to sit
for two hours. In the top of a double boiler, bring to a boil,,
then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 40 minutes.
Allow to cool before straining through gauze. In a blender,
combine 4 tablespoons sugar (or honey), 4 tablespoons
cooking or salad oil, and 12 teaspoon salt. To produce two
quarts of soy milk, add cold water. Refrigerate securely
covered for a few days before using.
Dried Soybeans:Dried mature beans must first be
soaked before cooking. Soak 24 hours in cold water.
Refrigeration is necessary to prevent fermentation. Cook
beans in their soaking water (it contains vitamins), either
simmer for 4 to 5 hours in a saucepan (add water if
needed), cook at 15 pounds for one hour in a pressure
cooker, or simmer 8 to 12 hours in a slow cooker.Cooked
soybeans can be used sparingly along with grains or
other veget ables. They can be mashed and used as an
extender in hamburgers and meat loaf. They can be put
in a blender and added to bread or cookies.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which has
been practised in China for thousands of years,
is pushing the digital frontier to improve
accuracy and accessibility, with increasingly
complicated and accessible treatments
generating greater demand. TCM has been
used in China for thousands of years as one of
the oldest health and wellness systems. TCM
tries to build immunity and improve well-
being, whilst other medical regimes focus on
disease treatment. Technology in traditional
Chinese medicine is also evolving with the
progress of time. Among the technologies
used in traditional Chinese medicine is in
acupuncture therapy.
Technology in Acupuncture
Acupuncture consists of 2 types, namely
therapy using needles and lasers.
Acupuncture is known as a treatment based

acupuncture or known as laser puncture using
laser technology on the skin.
Laser Puncture Is Well- Figure shows laser puncture therapy
Known for Its Benefits
It is specially designed for those who are afraid of needles such as children, pain-sensitive patients and patients
aged or category 65 years and older. Not only that, with the use of laser, it is able to reduce the risk of scarring on
the skin which is suitable for those who are worried about scars. In addition, laser puncture can also enhance the
growth of body cells. And it also speeds up the treatment process because you don't have to poke it, in fact, you
just stretch it to the body. In fact, laser puncture has a specific effect on the target of acupuncture points, it can
reach the location of acupuncture points that are difficult to pierce or the location of points that are forbidden to
be pierced by acupuncture needles. More interestingly, this therapy can treat psychometric patients such as sleep
disorders, eating disorders, depression and other illnesses. Not only that, children with cerebral palsy, obesity,
autism and hyperactivity are also allowed to take this puncture laser. PAGES | 16

CURRENT ISSUE
The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-
19) pandemic caused by severe acute
respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 has
been rapidly spreading globally and
has caused worldwide social and
economic disruption. Currently, no
specific antiviral drugs or clinically
effective vaccines are available to
prevent and treat COVID-19.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can
facilitate syndrome differentiation and
treatment according to the clinical
manifestations of patients and has
demonstrated effectiveness in epidemic
prevention and control. In China, TCM
intervention has helped to control the
epidemic; however, TCM has not been fully
recognized worldwide. In this review, we
summarize the epidemiology and etiological
characteristics of severe acute respiratory
syndrome coronavirus 2 and the prevention
and treatment measures of COVID-19.
Additionally, we describe the application of
TCM in the treatment of COVID-19 and the
identification of small molecules of TCM
that demonstrate anti-coronavirus activity.
We also analyze the current problems
associated with the recognition of TCM. We
hope that, through the contribution of TCM,
combined with modern technological
research and the support of our
international counterparts, COVID-19 can
be effectively controlled and treated.

APPLICATION OF ANTI-CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019
TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE HERBAL FORMULAS
Jin Hua Qing Gan Granule
Jin Hua Qing Gan granule (JHG) have antiviral and
immune regulation effects (Jimilihan, 2020). However,
according to the current study, JHG plays an anti-COVID-
19 effect mainly through modulating cytokine storm
associated with COVID-19 mortality and acting directly on
the virus itself (Ruan et al., 2020). The arachidonic acid (AA)
metabolic pathway is mainly used to synthesize
inflammatory cytokines; thus, inhibiting the AA metabolic
pathway is beneficial to reduce the “cytokine storm.” Ren Y
et al. showed that JHG might be anti-COVID-19 by treating
the cytokine storm based on the AA metabolic pathway
(Ren et al., 2020). A recent retrospective analysis test
showed JHG can effectively shorten the duration of nucleic
acid detection and promote the absorption of pneumonia
inflammatory exudate without obvious adverse reactions
in patients with COVID-19 (Liu Z. et al., 2020).
Lian Hua Qing Wen Capsule
Lian Hua Qing Wen capsule (Lianhua Qingwen) is
developed from the two classical formulas Fang Ma
Xing Shi Gan Tang and Yinqiao Powder. In addition
to improving the clinical symptoms of COVID-19
patients through anti-inflammation, Lianhua
Qingwen can also act directly on the virus itself. In
vitro studies have shown that Lianhua Qingwen can
significantly inhibit the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in
Vero E6 cells and significantly reduce the production
of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6,
CCL-2/MCP-1 and CXCL-10/IP-10. On the other hand,
it affects the morphology of the virus at the mRNA
level (Runfeng et al., 2020). The efficacy of Lianhua
Qingwen in the treatment of H1N1 infection is similar
to that of oseltamivir in terms of disease duration
and virus shedding (Duan et al., 2011).

CURRENT ISSUE
Tumerous treatments in Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM) involve the use of
wildlife products, including some that
utilize ingredients derived from
endangered flora and fauna. Demand for
such endangered wildlife products in TCM
can threaten the survival of species and
pose serious challenges for conservation.
Understanding
Traditional Chinese
Medicine
to strengthen
conservation outcomes
Chinese medical practice is embedded in the cultural fabric of many societies in East
and Southeast Asia, and remains an integral part of everyday life and knowledge. It is
grounded in principles and theories that have grown over hundreds of years and differ
substantially from those of mainstream allopathic biomedicine.
In order to address the threats posed by the medicinal consumption of endangered
wildlife, conservation scientists and practitioners will benefit from a basic
understanding of TCM. Such knowledge will enable conservationists to craft culturally
nuanced solutions and to engage constructively with TCM stakeholders. However,
conservationists typically lack familiarity with TCM as the incompatibility of many TCM
concepts with those of the biomedical sciences poses a barrier to understanding.
The consumptive use of wildlife is often rooted in traditional beliefs and customs (Thomas-
Walters et al., 2020). Many people around the world rely on traditional forms of medicine for
their health and wellbeing. These diverse medical systems make use of an array of wild plants,
animals and fungi, often ones that are locally available and that are not threatened. However,
some traditional medical systems make use of products derived from endangered species,
including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM; Hamilton, 2004; Liu et al., 2016; Zhang & Yin,
2014). Demand for products derived from endangered species, which range from rhinoceros
horn (Traditional Chinese/Simplified Chinese/Chinese pinyin.
