Caruz Sta Lucia High School, Pasig City THE IMPROVEMENT OF GRADE 11 CSS STUDENTS OF STA LUCIA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN SCHOOL -BASED INSTITUTIONAL ASSESSMENT USING GAME-BASED E-LEARNING MATERIALS ABSTRACT Subject of the study were the Grade 11 CSS students school year 2019- 2020. For three years of conducting School-based Institutional Assessment, most of them failed to identify the whole parts of the system unit the reason for having a record of Not Yet Competent (NYC). Lack of system units in the school is another factor for mastery so they need to wait for their turn and identify the actual parts and assemble afterwards. For these reasons, the researcher developed a drag and drop game-based e-learning materials that will motivate and enhance the learners in an interactive way. One Hundred and Five (105) Grade 11 CSS students were given pre-assessment by their trainer as the usual practice and scheduled as candidates for the school-based institutional assessment. As a result, 87 out of 105 Grade 11 CSS students failed and subject for re-assessment, in identifying the parts of the system unit. The 87 Grade 11 CSS students were interviewed of the reason why they failed the assessment. The researcher provided a game-based e-learning materials and instructions were given to the trainer to assist the students in the utilization of these materials. Schedule of re-assessment was prepared by the trainer after a day of review using the materials. As a result, 100 per cent of the students perfectly identified the whole parts of the system unit and recorded as COMPETENT. It is important to note that nowadays, students really learn a lot by using interactive game-based e-learning materials.
50 74th National Conference and Training Philippine Home Economics Association (PHEA) THE STATE OF TEACHING BEAUTY CARE AND WELLNESS MASSAGE AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN CLUSTER 6, DIVISION OF PAMPANGA ABSTRACT T his study was conducted to determine the state of teaching in beauty care and wellness massage. Covered the Grade 9 and Grade 10 students, their parents and teachers in selected schools in the Cluster 6, Division of Pampanga. The study did not discriminate as to the gender or age of the student. Two sets of questionnaire were used: one for the students which also includes a portion for their parents, and one for the teachers. Interviews were conducted to chosen teachers, parents and school administrators. The study confirms that the current condition of students’ readiness can be developed and validated based on Performance Evaluation Tool. This tool determines the readiness of the student in their respective specializations. The preparedness of the teachers in executing the lesson to the students must be addressed. This study confirms the importance of using in house curriculum content, instructional materials and references. Further, in-depth training for the teachers in their respective fields in vital improving their competence. In improving the competence of the teachers, a wellestablished facilities and complete materials and equipment are also necessary in the delivery of instruction. Highlightening Beauty Care and Wellness Massage in Youth Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism in Schools (YECS) and Student Technologist and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (STEP) are organizations that uplift and uphold the entrepreneurial skills of the students. As mandated by the Department of Education DO 50, S. 2005 and DO 35, S. 2008. The integration of Beauty Care and Wellness Massage in YECS and STEP program will improve the skills of the students and ensuring the attainment of its objective in providing quality training for every student. Furthermore, schools with existing YECS and STEP program shall align their implementation in accordance with the provision under Beauty Care and Wellness Massage and other programs. Community Immersion. This activity will give freewill to students with the close supervision of their respective advisers the access in acquiring new skills through community undertaking. The students will be given a chance to perform the knowledge and skills acquired in their training through the people in the community. It will serve as a simulation to prepare them in the workforce. One of the important facets of quality training is through a well-structured and well established facilities. This enables the students and teachers to deliver the modules and other related teaching materials and paraphernalia’s align with their respective specializations. More so, this will attract the students to do well in their field due to a more appealing training workplace and environment. The schools will be responsive to the need of the teachers and students in the training such as technical support, facility improvement assistance, inventories and supplies for the training. This will further give confidence to teachers and students in performing their course. As part of future research direction of this study, the researcher would like to consider the subject in evaluating the State of Teaching Beauty Care and Wellness Massage in the whole Division of Pampanga.

Most of research language studies contemplates on young adults and adult learners, with less investigations on investigating the learning techniques utilized by primary learners at grade school level and high school level. This Action research, conversely, emphasizes around the investigation of selected senior high school learners who appear to have poor vocabulary and vocabulary enrichment strategy. In this study, it is shown how the researcher recognized, and affirmed, the idea of this issue in his/her teaching practice; trailed by the action plan, in light of four strategic vocabulary mastery steps that were planned and carried out trying to surmount the language deficiency. The findings demonstrate that the intervention positively resulted on the learner’s vocabulary acquisition, jargon procurement, however at the same time, different issues needing further investigation arose, for example, need of motivation, and teaching workshop on dealing the best strategies on how learners acquired vocabulary in the English learning situation. As educators, we put importance on the value of acquiring adequate vocabularies. Acquiring good vocabularies is precedent to good comprehension. Most students find it difficult time comprehend reading texts due to low vocabulary knowledge. This action research is designed to elaborate the advantages of integrating vocabulary exercises in all Senior High School English lessons. In connection, the power of the four mastery vocabulary learning steps ensured the expected competence of a learner. The NOVICE upgrades the expectation of the researchers, to motivate the TVL and English educators to take this opportunity to implement the intervention on its reliability in the vocabulary competence and mastery and can add twist to add more enjoyment and fun. Educators must show technical skills on how it can be more powerful as a tool of learning development. As a potential answer for the learners with further developing their vocabulary acquisition, a vocabulary learning intervention was implemented. The researchers executed: Name out, Vocab in, a comprehensive vocabulary intervention (NOVICE) dealt with spelling, pronunciation (phonology), semantics (meaning) and syntax (sentence structure) for a week. Learners spelled the word, pronounced it appropriately, defined the meaning and formed a sentence.

VILLAMOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ABSTRACT T his study appraised the “Senior High School Work Immersion Program Implementation” at Ignacio Villamor Senior High School, Manila specifically, the appraisal of the respondent, in terms of: curriculum implementation and compliance; work immersion delivery process; assessment of student’s process; supervision of work immersion implementation; and administrative concerns. In this descriptive research, the researcher administered the questionnaire adopted from the monitoring tool from DepEd Order No. 30, s.2017 Guidelines for work Immersion to the purposively selected 115 senior high school graduates of Ignacio Villamor batch 2017-2018, Division of City Schools-Manila. Frequency distribution, percentage, weighted mean, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were the statistical tools used in the data. Research found out that the appraisal on areas monitored are all highly evident. Moreover, the appraisal of curriculum implementation and compliance; work immersion delivery process; assessment of student’s process; supervision of work immersion implementation; administrative concerns and work immersion appraisal of studentsrespondent when grouped according to strand are not significant to each other. Findings revealed that the Curriculum implementation and compliance in terms of Accounting, Business and Management has the highest mean of acceptance with mean (X= 4.77), followed by Information, Communication and Technology (X= 4.74) and Cookery (X= 4.67). The computed f-value is 0.765 with p-value of 0.478. On the other hand, Work Immersion delivery process in terms of Accounting, Business and Management has the highest mean of acceptance with mean (X= 4.68), followed by Information, Communication and Technology (X= 4.67), and Cookery (X= 4.63). The computed f-value is 0.203 with p-value of 0.816. Hence, Assessment of Student’ Process in terms of Accounting, Business and Management still has the highest mean of acceptance with mean (X= 4.76), followed by Information, Communication and Technology (X= 4.77), and Cookery (X= 4.71). The computed f-value is 0.421 with p-value of 0.657. Moreover, the Supervision of Work Immersion Implementation in terms of Accounting, Business and Management remain the highest mean of acceptance with mean (X= 4.75), followed by Cookery (X= 4.72) and Camille Zarco-Lariosa University of the Philippines, Ayala Boulevard, Manila

Lastly, the Administrative Concerns in terms of Cookery has the highest mean of acceptance with mean (X= 4.85), followed by Accounting, Business and Management (X= 4.79), and Information, Communication and Technology (X=4.76), with the computed f-value of 1.072 with p-value of 0.345, which is more than the assigned level of significance at 0.05, accepts null hypothesis. Hence, all monitoring areas and the strand of the students are not significant to each other in implementation of work immersion program. Consequently, there is no significant difference on the work immersion appraisal of students-respondent when grouped according to strand were tested. With the results, the researcher recommended to strengthen the Work Immersion Program with proposed Work Immersion Improvement Plan (WIIP) for adoption by Ignacio Villamor Senior High School and DepEd in institutions offering Senior High School.
