My service my pride : 6 Steps

1. Establish eye-contact and smile.
2. Stand with weight evenly balanced on both
feet
3. Right hand open palm, place on left chest.
4. Greet guest : “ Good morning / afternoon /
evening Sir, Miss ”
5. Identify self to guest and offer assistance :
“ I’m …(name).., How may I assist you? ”
6. Ending the conversation: “ Thank you Sir,
Madam, Miss ”

Caution

1. Demeanor : Normally in Malaysia, male and
female don’t touch each other.

2. In Malaysia, we mostly use thumps to point.
Using index finger is sometimes considered rude.

3. We have plenty of Indian guests staying with
us. Sometimes, when we talk or ask anything,
Indian guests will always nod or wobble their
heads to acknowledge what we said.

The meaning can be yes, okay, thank you.
Mostly this gesture is accompanied with a smile.

4. Arabic guests quite worried about their
privacy, especially woman who covered hijab.

Someone insist requesting female officer to
handle their check-in process, due to passport
copied is required. So, the person who can see their
faces will be only same gender.
