Setinggi-tinggi kesyukuran kehadrat Ilahi dengan limpah dan kurniaNYA Festival
Projek Pelajar PKS Sesi 1 2021/2022 dapat dilaksanakan dengan jayanya pada kali ini.
Tahniah dan syabas kepada semua Ahli Jawatankuasa Kerja Festival Projek Pelajar PKS
Sesi 1 2021/2022 kerana berjaya merancang dan menganjurkan program pada sesi
ini. Festival Projek Pelajar PKS Sesi 1 2021/2022 merupakan satu platform untuk
memberi peluang kepada semua pelajar semester akhir Politeknik Kuching Sarawak
mengetengahkan hasil kreativiti dan inovasi masing-masing melalui penghasilan
projek akhir pelajar yang mempunyai nilai tambah serta boleh dikomersialkan. .
Adalah menjadi harapan PKS agar para pelajar dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan
kemahiran melalui percambahan idea dan penyelesaian masalah secara kreatif ke
arah melahirkan graduan yang berketrampilan dan kompeten serta mempunyai nilai
kebolehpasaran yang tinggi yang mampu menyumbang tenaga untuk membantu
pembangunan sektor ekonomi negara. Kerjasama yang diberikan oleh semua
pensyarah yang terlibat didalam penghasilan projek akhir pelajar dapat membantu
dan melonjakkan kualiti graduan TVET, sekaligus memperkasakan generasi masa
depan dengan budaya kreatif dan inovatif dalam menyahut cabaran Revolusi
Perindustrian ke-4 (IR 4.0). Akhir kata, sekali lagi saya merakamkan setinggi-tinggi
penghargaan dan terima kasih kepada semua Ahli Jawatankuasa Kerja, para
pensyarah, Panel Penilai Dalaman, Panel Penilai Industri, para pelajar serta semua
pihak yang terlibat secara langsung mahupun tidak langsung atas inisiatif dan
kesungguhan dalam menjayakan Festival Projek Pelajar PKS Sesi 1 2021/2022.

Festival Projek Pelajar Sesi 1 2021/2022 Politeknik Kuching Sarawak
merupakan sebuah program anjuran Unit Penyelidikan, Inovasi dan Komersilan
(UPIK) dengan kerjasama Jabatan Kejuruteraan Awam, Jabatan Kejuruteraan
Elektrik, Jabatan Kejuruteraan Mekanikal, Jabatan Kejuruteraan Petrokimia dan
Jabatan Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi.
Program ini dilaksanakan khas kepada pelajar-pelajar semester lima untuk
mempamerkan hasil projek akhir mereka serta berkongsi pengalaman sepanjang
tempoh projek akhir dihasilkan. Selain itu, program ini juga merupakan pentas
terbaik untuk mempromosikan pelajar Politeknik Kuching Sarawak kepada pihak
industri melalui hasil projek mereka agar pihak industri lebih peka dengan
kebolehan dan kemahiran yang dimiliki oleh pelajar Politeknik Kuching Sarawak.
Selain itu, program ini juga merupakan platform untuk pelajar dan staf
memaparkan hasil kerja projek dan inovasi mereka dan berkongsi ilmu serta
pengalaman bersama. Ia juga membolehkan hasil inovasi staf dan pelajar
dipatenkan bagi tujuan pengkomersilan serta membolehkan agensi luar lebih
memahami apa yang dipelajari oleh pelajar dan secara khasnya dalam bidang
kejuruteraan dan ICT. Dengan adanya program seperti ini diharap ia dapat
mempromosikan kebolehan dan kemahiran yang diperolehi oleh graduan
Politeknik Kuching Sarawak.

The need for home security alarm systems nowadays is a serious demand. As the
number of crimes are increasing every day, there has to be something that will keep
us safe. We are all aware of the high-end security system present in the market but
they are not easily available to everyone. We therefore intend to provide a solution
by constructing a cost- efficient electronic system that has the capability of sensing
the motion of the intruders
AUTO TECHNO PET FEEDER
The Auto Techno Pet Feeder is an automatic feeding machine designated for pets(cats), using
applications inside the phone device. Unfortunately, the business and limited time at work cause a
lack of care and leave their pets hungry. In addition, the machine is designated easily in order to
save users time and energy to feed their pets.The machine is designated by using an existing
concept and is innovated with the addition of an internet connection on the devices. This machine
also serves to distribute food automatically according to the timer. Furthermore, the machines
available on the market usually operate manually, and most of them do not use IOT. With this
Auto Techno Pet Feeder, users can use it automatically and stop worrying about their pet's
conditions. For those who love pets, they will definitely choose this
machine for their pets at home. Consumers are also not worried
about leaving their pets for a long period of time, such as going back
to their hometown or working full time. Finally, it is an effective
way to enhance and utilize top and local users. As a result, the Auto
Techno Pet Feeder is extremely useful in petting procedures as well
as in upgrading the local industrial.
CQI FOR CLO REPORT SYSTEM (CCRS)
Presently, lecturers manually fill the CLO report with reference to the data from the
Sistem Pengurusan Maklumat Politeknik (SPMP). SPMP is a data storage system for
Sarawak Polytechnic students in Kuching. And it, can keep track of grades and
results for each semester. At the end of each semester, lecturers will fill on the CQI
for CORR form manually. CQI is well understood as a when performing things
manually, there is a danger of mistake, such as mistyping and data loss. It will be
easier for lecturers, head of department and head of program to use our invention
system, CQI for CLO Report (CCRS).It is
develop to simplify the process of making
analysis so that it will be easier and more
accurate.
AUTO TECHNO PET FEEDER
The staff are still using manual number card system to limit the total of customer in
store. This method is time-consuming and inconvenient, at the same time difficult to
comply with the pandemic standard operating procedure (SOP). Headcount System is
developed to help staff by monitoring and limit the of total customer in store through a
headcount system placed in the entrance of the store. This platform is built by integrating
mobile application and web-based database. The hardware is built
using IoT components and sensor. The system is efficient and cost-
effective. It digitalizes the customer check-in and check-out record
management and reduces paper-based number card. It also
improves the security procedures according to the new norm of
pandemic.
HELP ME
HelpMe is a mobile application based on Android platform that is intended to help around
people who is affected by pandemic Covid-19 in their daily life. Basically, HelpMe provide
an effective way to people for ask a help to other who is volunteer to provide the assistances
likes basic food aid, daily necessities aid, baby daily necessities aid and so on. Besides that,
based on the concept “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and
you feed him for a lifetime” which mean it is better to teach people how to do something
themselves than to just do it for them, so people also allow to find a
part time job via HelpMe as to solve their sources of income. After
this, to encourage people to help each other at this difficult time, we
have provided other function like Want To Help to allow people
provide their assistance, Set Up Aid Station to allow people publish
their location of food bank and supply the aids in huge quantity, Need
New Job to allow people find or offer a opportunities of job to other.
MOP ME AUTOMATION
Some people are still using the manual way to clean the floor. This method is time-

Most of small oil palm farmers are still using the traditional method to save their
cost and expenses receipt by using log book. This method is inconvenient and tend
to face data loss. Sawit Budget Tracker is developed to help those small oil palm
farmers to keep track their data, cost and expenses through an
online application. This application is easy to use, efficient and
cost-effective.
SMART GARMENT SHIELD (SGS)
The unstable climate can be troublesome for people to dry clothes outdoors such
as rainy days. Sometimes, people often forget to bring clothes on rainy days. Thus,
the Smart Garment Shield (SGS) was developed to protect the clothes from getting
wet in the rain. This product can detect the rain, humidity and temperature and
provide the protection for clothes from rain as the main function. To make this
product function properly, sensor modules are required as raindrop sensor and
DHT11 sensor (temperature and humidity sensor). The
advantage of this product is convenient, easy to use and
suitable to use anywhere.

database. This system is cost-effective and efficient.
WATER COLUMN EARLY DETECTION AND TRIGGER SYSTEM
The main purpose of this project is to give early warning to people around
about the impending natural disaster that is water columns. The system will
be placed on the banks of rivers where water columns occur frequently.
When a water column occurs, the system will emit a
loud noise or trigger that the public can hear and
circulate from the scene. In addition, this system is
very useful to the public to save themselves and
property in the event of a water column..
BRAKE PEDAL PRESSING MACHINE
Research have found that mechanics in automotive workshop or car service center having a
difficulty in performing brake flushing process. This is because they need to doing the
process by 2 persons which is one person at the outside to change the brake fluid and the
other person is inside the car to press and hold the brake pedal. Therefore, a brake pedal
pressing machine can facilitate the mechanics to perform brake flushes and to reduce man
power needed for the brake flushing process. This machine has a strong energy as human
foot energy to help press the brake pedal from the outside. The components that we will
use to complete this machine consist of mild steel hollow metal, pneumatic cylinder,
polyurethane PU hose tube, 5/2-way hand lever valve and the
other components. To provide a strong pressure, we use a
compressor where in range of 2 to 3 psi to move the cylinder.
We can conclude that this machine is easy to store because of
its size, easy to use and easy to remove and reinstall.
CAR LED MESSAGE BOARD
Safety and information are key factors in innovating new technologies to
improve the ride experience for all road users. In certain situations, we may
want to convey a message to other road users. This led us to create the Car
LED Message Board. The message board is used to convey messages in the
comfort of your vehicle. Not only does it display text, it also displays
dynamic arrows or chevrons when changing signal. It is fabricated from
cheap, but quality materials such as aluminium. The Car LED Message Board
contributes to road safety by reducing the time taken to transmit messages
to other road users.
FABRICATION OF CURRY PUFF CRIMPING TOOL
In the making of curry puff, a molding tool is definitely one of the most important factors on
crimping the curry. So, the production of curry puff crimping tool to some extent can
contribute many roles, especially to among the factors that contribute to them is being able
to produce 8 pieces of curry puff at once in one crimping process only. When the process
was made many times, then indirectly it can produce
more pieces of curry puff per hour. In addition, the
weight that less than 10 kilograms makes it relatively
easy to carry and does not use too much energy to
lift loads. Next, the thing that need to consider is the
selection of materials. This is so because to stabilize
the product in line with the hygiene requirements in
the food manufacturing process.
FABRICATION OF WATER-COOLED SYSTEM WITH PH ARDUINO

Fish are one of many pets that live in water and act as one companions in life, as
spiritual medicine and home decoration. Fish aquarium maintenance can be a difficult
task so , we came up with water cooling system to regulate the water temperature.
This water cooling system is made up with Peltier Module that is powered by electricity
and came up with automatic fish feeder. This system
also function to cool the water to 27.4 degree celsius
in a matter of 15 minutes. More importantly, This
project can help the farmer to keep and monitor
their fish at ease.
FABRICATION OF SPRING COMPRESSOR
Modern technology is often used in car manufacturing nowadays where this
contributes to a lucrative economic income. As we know the activity in the field of
mechanics is quite tiring if using manual and less modern equipment especially on
the conversion and compressing parts of the car absorber
springs. Therefore, we have designed a more modern
compressor spring in its use to facilitate mechanical work. This
tool is portable and easy to use and can save time in its
maintenance. Other than that this spring compressor affordable
as the use of it is only using the manpower. Hydraulic
compressor is not needed but yet we still can compress the
spring manually. The advance benefit makes the spring
compressor low in cost.
MINI MULTI-FUNCTION PEPPER MACHINE
this project machine is titled the Mini Multi-Function Pepper Machine. By using the
Autodesk Inventor software to come up with the prototype’s design and inspection
of the machine’s compatibility, we proposed a machine that consists of all the
procedures involved in the production of white pepper,
which are soaking, heating, drying and grinding process.
This machine is designed in a small size scale to ensure
that it is portable and easy to carry.
PORTABLE GRINDING VALVE MACHINE
Lapping process are exhausting works, therefore we had fabricated a portable
grind valve machine that can be used to overcome the problem. This tool is easy to
use because the choice of materials suitable for the design also easier to use with
safety process. This tool is cheap yet with a good quality which made of PVC and
Rubber. This tool contributes to the workers by make it easier for workers to do the
work also save their time. It also
efficient in different works such as
clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation
which is more effective than hand tool.
SMART WHEELBARROW
As we know, wheelbarrows are used to move heavy loads from one place to
another. These tools are commonly used in a large number of industries to transfer
physical products. The wheelbarrow is pushed and pulled to carry the load from
one place to another. To move a heavy load the user has to use energy to push or
pull the stroller. In the development industry, these strollers are much needed but
still consume a lot of energy and can cause pain in limbs such as hands, spine, and
legs. Such difficulties are eliminated by the use of a moving system and the addition
of wheels. At the bottom of the wheelbarrow is mounted a motor connected by
sprocket gears and roller chains. By using such a
system, the heavy load can be reduced when
pushing or pulling the wheelbarrow to transfer the
load from the wheelbarrow without using much
energy.

Modern technology is often used in transportation which contributes to the
creation of scooters that value the comfort of users and prioritize environmental
sustainability. There are some scooters that are designed to require human energy
to move, hence the invention of scooters that use solar
energy have been designed to overcome the problem.
Experiments were conducted to study and find the
suitable load for solar scooter. In addition, these
experiments will contribute to change and be able to
meet the needs of users. This solar scooter has many
advantages in addition to its natural energy source.
THE FABRICATION OF AUTO BUFFET TRAY
Food and beverage services are synonymous with excellent hygiene during the
handling process. Most service providers are fully committed to reducing any
contamination factors. Unfortunately, the variable in this case, which involves the
human element, is unpredictable. A problem revealed by a case study stressed on
the application of the food tray. Improper management of food during an event can
expose it to potential hazards. Therefore, this research project addressed the
implementation of a smart buffet food tray with a
sensing element. This project was aimed at reducing any
direct contact between humans and the lids of the trays
as well as the period of exposure of food to the
surroundings.
COVID-19 SAFETY PARCEL BOX
The whole country has been infected with Covid-19 virus which is the most
dangerous as it can be fatal regardless age. Especially in Malaysia where Covid-19
cases are now on the rise. Online shopping
becomes mainstream in the age of Covid-19 to
limit the spread of virus. However if the process of
delivering and receiving parcels are not managed
correctly can cause many problems.
ECO-SAVE AIR-COND WATER HARVESTING SYSTEM
This harvesting system is using ESP8266 interfacing with a soil moisture sensor and
another ESP8266 and relays are connecting them to water pump so you click on
Blynk and run the pump when you know the soil is dry. Programming of my device
is based on ESP8266 automatic watering kit. With ESP8266
module, the flower-watering kit could realize real time
monitoring. As for mobile phone software, I used Blynk
which is easy to build up and providing Arduino library.
Throughout the communication, ESP8266 WiFi Bee module
was used as communication module. ESP8266 is the main
controller here.
IOT FLOOD MONITORING SYSTEM
The equipment for live monitoring are quite costly and maynot be affordable for
everyone in the flood area. Therefore, a low cost IoT based flood monitoring
system is developed to cater the needs of people in a small area such as a village.
The project uses ESP8266 as the main IoT device which is integrated with Telegram
application and Thingspeak platform. A siren was also attached to warn villagers at
certain flood level. Ultrasonic sensor is used as the main
sensor. As a result, this flood monitoring system can
monitor the water level using 2 convenient ways which is
either using handphone via Telegram application or
Thingspeak platform via website. User also be able to stay
alert especially night time when flood reach dangerous
level.
IOT-BASED SMART HOME AUTOMATION
This project has three subsytems, which are the IOT-Based Smart Automation
System for Home, IoT-Based on Automate Health Monitoring System and the IoT-
Based Smart Door Lock. The first one focuses on controlling home appliances using
smartphone and Google Assistant.The second
subsystem captures body temperature, pulse-rate
and blood oxygen saturation. The last one focuses
on implementing a biometric scanner on a door
lock and allowing remote access by using
smartphone.

A Safe Locker is a locked box used to keep valuables and important documents safe
from theft. We are utilising arduino UNO-connected password and fingerprint
components. In this project, the material is something more cost-effective, such as
hardwood.
SMART DUSTBIN AUTOMATIC LID WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM
Smart Dustbin Automatic Lid with fire detection system reduce the risk of fire that
is often ignored by most of us while also increasing the
hygiene where no physical touch is required to open the
lid. this project also contain the fire which removing one
of three main components in the "fire triangle", which is
oxygen.
SMART IOT WASHROOM MONITOR
an IoT based monitoring project for a café was designed to monitor toilet vacant for
users and soap level monitoring for the janitor. This project uses ESP8266 device as
the main IoT platform. Thingspeak platform is used to monitor the status of empty
or full washroom vacancy and Adafruit platform is used to monitor the level of soap
in the soap dispenser. Ultrasonic sensor is used as the main sensor in this project. A
notification lamp is also placed at the dining area to ease users checking the
availability of the washroom. As a results, any
authorized user can conveniently monitor the
toilet status this anywhere as long there is
internet access. The janitor also has the
advantage to monitor their soap dispenser
anytime.
SOLAR FARMING PLANT CHAMBER
Solar pumping systems are best suited for pumping operations like pumping water
out from the water tanks. For instance, transfer it from the dam to the storage
tank, in which pumps run continuously for most of the day. The farms that require
water to be pumped at night are not as well suited to solar-powered pumps, as
storage solutions such as batteries and storage
tanks can increase the cost of the system. Even
though these energy storage solutions are
expensive, they allow for greater utilization of the
PV system. Depending on the usage, stocked
water can be fed by gravity when there is
insufficient sunlight to power the solar pumps,
reducing diesel consumption further.

CONCRETE HARDENING ACCELERATOR RESEARCH
Concrete is one of the biggest basic material that been utilized in construction. The most
common used concrete is ordinary concrete. It refers to the Ordinary Portland Cement
(OPC) as a cementing material with water and admixtures which is sometimes added with a
certain proportion according to strength required and the function to
be fulfilled. In construction, the strength and performance of
concrete are needed the most to ensure the quality of the building.
So, this research is to study the effectiveness of Sodium Nitrate as
the alternative admixture in Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) based
binder. Nevertheless, the presence of high Sodium Nitrate content
can reduce the performance of cement paste binder, so it is
important to propose the correct cement mixture ratio.
DRAINAGE NETTING TRASH TRAP
Drainage Netting Trash Trap is an innovative trash trap that is designed for a small drain at
residential area. It is combination of PVC pipe and wire mesh which is eco-friendly and
affordable to create that can trap a lot of garbage. The main objective of this study is to
determine the efficiency of trash trap by calculate the volume of garbage accumulated from
the total garbage trap itself and determine the strength and stability of the traps. Identify
problems that may arise and also suggest the best method to solve all problems that arise.
The scope of this study covers the efficiency, maintenance
and method of questionnaires conducted to ensure that
garbage traps are built according to the set criteria that is
practical and effective against water and garbage. In
addition, this study involves an element of green
technology where materials such as recycled plastic bottles
are used in this construction.
EASY TILING TROWEL BOX
This study is a product development study of tile installation tool, also known as a
tile trowel box, with an emphasis on criteria that might aid in finishing works for a
floor in small size building projects such as room, hall, and others. This research will
also concentrate on making the installation of floor tiles easier. Furthermore, this

employees in order to acquire reliable data of

GSM SECURITY CALL SUPPORTED BY ARDUINO FOR RESIDENTIAL USE

MINI AIR COOLER WITH LED LIGHT
Heat is always been a problem in every country such as Malaysia. Doing work in a
hot summer day can be tiring and are prone to make silly and unwanted mistakes.
A proper air conditioner would be good item to have during these times. When
doing work or event, the place could become stuffy and uncomfortable for
technician or engineer. However, air conditioners are
mostly marketed as fix and hard to change places portable
air conditioners are dime a dozen but somehow are very
expensive to have. In this project, we aim to make a
portable air conditioner that is affordable and reliably cool
small confined for a limited amount of time and space.
NATURAL COAGULANT TO REMOVE TURBIDITY
The use of alum dose in drinking water treatment plant has harmful effects on
human health, on the other hand, a process that alum coagulant dose used in
drinking water treatment plant with a high processing cost. In this study, were used
as locally available natural coagulants to reduce turbidity of synthetic water. The
tests were carried out, using artificial turbid water with conventional jar test
apparatus. Optimum mixing intensity and duration were determined. After dosing
water-soluble extracts of reduced turbidity to 5.9, 3.9, and 11.1 nephelometric
turbidity unit (NTU), respectively, from 100 NTU.
Natural coagulants worked better with high,
turbid, water compare to medium, or low,
turbid, water.
PORTABLE AUTOMATIC BLUETOOTH HUMIDIFIER
There is a long-standing dispute about indoor air humidity and perceived “Indoor
Air Quality” (I.A.Q.) and associated health effects. Complaints about sensory
irritation in eyes and upper airways are generally among top-two symptoms
together with the perception “dry air” in office environments. This calls for an
integrated analysis of indoor air humidity and eye and airway health effects. This
overview has reviewed the literature about the effects of
extended exposure to low humidity on perceived I.A.Q.,
sensory irritation symptoms in eyes and airways, work
performance and sleep quality. Elevation of the indoor air
humidity may positively impact perceived I.A.Q., eye
symptomatology, and possibly work performance in the
office environment.
SMART PADLOCK
The smart padlock has been designing are by using a fingerprint to unlock. We will
use the fingerprint sensor module as the main accessory. This smart padlock will be
using an LCD of Arduino UNO which is an open-source microcontroller board. This
board can record the owner fingerprint in good condition. This is because the board
is equipped with sets of digital and analogue input/output (I/O) pins that may be
interfaced with various expansion boards and
other circuits. The benefit of this padlock is if
you forgot to bring a key you can open it by
using your fingerprint. The other benefit is this
padlock has more safety and convenience than a
traditional lock.
STUDIES OF CARBON FOOTPRINT AT POLYTECHNIC KUCHING SARAWAK
This study examined both the fundamental notion of carbon footprint and the critical
nature of long-term environmental sustainability. Thus, it is essential to complete this
study's goal in order to resolve the identified issue statements. This study will go into
great depth on significant studies performed by previous academics as well as newly
found articles on carbon footprint in the literature. In this study, dependent and
independent variables are merged into a single
group. As a consequence of improved
understanding of oxygen production, the aim of
a sustainable environment is becoming closer to
realisation. This research demonstrates many
methods for analysing and quantifying an
institution's carbon footprint.
THE INCORPORATION OF MARINE SHELL INTO ECO-FRIENDLY BRICK PRODUCTION
This research provides a guideline to determine the incorporation of marine shells into
eco-friendly brick production. Three types of marine shells which are cockle shells,
oyster shells and mollusk shells, are crushed into powder to act as 10%, 20% and 30%
fine aggregate replacements. Furthermore, several tests such as water absorption test,
compressive strength test, dry density test and workability of marine shell bricks are
carried out in the laboratory to determine concrete properties. The research result
showed that brick containing 30% marine
shell powder performs better in all tests.
Findings suggest that another locally made
environmentally friendly marine shell brick is
possible and suitable to be produced for use
in the construction industry.
A STUDY ON ROOF CEILING MADE OF COCONUT WASTE
The mixture of coco peat, coconut fibre and plaster of Paris under different
composition were analysed to assess its potential as alternative material. The analysis
which consists of Bending Test (Total weight of load that the ceiling can handle before
it’s rapture), Thermal Analysis (thermal absorption rate), Water Absorption and Cutting
Test (the edges cutting condition with different tools and cutting difficulty) were
conducted on the natural fibre samples and comparison
was made between the sample to figure out the best
composition ratio. The better the ceiling can handle
bending test, absorb less heat, and easy to cut with
smooth edges, is the better composition.
BIODIESEL-ETHANOL BLENDING AS ALTERNATIVE FUTURE FUEL
This study is focused on biodiesel-ethanol blending as alternative future fuel and
economical energy source. The use of alternative fuel contributes to the lowering of
the dependency of fossil fuel for daily necessity. Biofuels are the most important kind
of alternative fuel that have some similarities with fossil fuel. Currently, the new
manufacturing processes biofuel shows that there is potential to decrease greenhouse
gas (GHG) emissions compared to fossil fuels, on a well to wheel basis. Among the most
prominent alternative fuels to be used in blend with fossil fuel in 4 stroke engines are
biodiesel and bioethanol. Some studies of blending
biodiesel-diesel, bioethanol-diesel and biodiesel-diesel-
bioethanol have been conducted to assess the impacts
of biodiesel and bioethanol used on engine operation.
EXTRACTION OF LEMONGRASS (CYMBOPOGON FLEXUOSUS) ESSENTIAL
OIL AS BIOPESTICIDES
The long term usage of synthetic pesticides have resulted in residues accumulating in variety of
environmental problems.The synthetic pesticides have adverse effects on non target organisms,
human health and also the ecosystem.It has the potential to harm nervous system and the
endocrine system.On the environment, pesticides could contaminate a body of water which will
then affect the marine life such as fishes.In this work, an alternative to overcome the problem is
proposed which is the extraction of herbal essential oil as bio-pesticides.Green pesticides or bio-
pesticides is a pesticides that are derived from natural material
such as plants. As it is important for us to create an alternative
product to replace synthetic pesticides, creating an essential oil
from herbs like lemongrass as bio-pesticides is one of the best
alternatives.
FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF ROSE CLEANSING BALM USING CAFFEINE
This project aims to develop multifunctional balm to overcome this problem. The best texture of
balm it must have the exactly measurement of coconut oil. Coconut oil is the important
ingredient for balm texture. Scent and color is attraction for this product, to find the acceptable
smell and color for the balm is essential. Balm is sensitive with heat. Different temperature will
effect the texture of balm. To observe effect of texture in different temperature is necessary.
Detecting the effectiveness of cleansing balm to the skin is important therefore, the ingredients
that were used in this cleansing balm was tested on 5 people first. Dried rose petals were took to
this cleansing for the fragrance. Green coffee beans are rich in
antioxidants, which reduce the damaging effects of free
radicals in our body and take care of our overall health.
Glycerin was also used because of its best known for its ability
to moisturize and protect the skin. Multifunctional rose
caffeine cleansing balm was prepared and evaluated.
STUDY OF SELF-HEATING FOOD PACKAGE USING WATER IN FOOD INDUSTRIES
Self-heating of a substance or mixture is a process where the gradual reaction of that substance
or mixture with oxygen in air generates heat. In order to self-heat, the material must generate
more heat than it loose to the environment. The process of self-heating of a substance or
mixture is the process by which the gradual reaction of the substance or mixture with oxygen in
the air produces heat. In this process, the material must produce more heat than is lost to the
environment. However, the basic material of heating is iron
and magnesium, salt, and water. When the contents of the
water bag are poured onto the heating pad, the Food
Heater emits enough heat to heat the food that has been
cooked to 100 degrees Fahrenheit in about 10 minutes.
TESTING AND EVALUATION OF NON-POINT SOURCE EFFLUENT WATER IMPACT TO
SUNGAI KANGKA
The research is to determine the characteristics of Sungai Kangka water quality in terms of
physical and chemical parameters based on Water Quality Index (WQI) and National Water
Quality Standards (NWQS). Three (3) non-point sources were chosen for water sampling along
rivers to determine the physical and chemical quality of Sungai Kangka water from non-point
source effluent. Physical and chemical parameters were analysed to determine the water quality
of the samples sampled. The study focuses on the analysis of eleven (11) parameters, including
Colour, Odour, Oil & Grease, Temperature, pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen
Demand (BOD), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Chloride, and
Phosphate. According to the data, the river contains low levels of DO
(ranging from 3.47 to 3.92 mg/L) and BOD5 (ranging from 2.23-2.86
mg/L), placing it in the range of a class II river according to the NQWS.
Following the NQWS (normal +2° C) in class II, the temperature of the
river (range 26.1-27.5 ° C) is within an acceptable range (26.1-27.5 ° C).
THE POTENTIAL OF BANANA WASTE FIBER AS A BIODEGRADABLE TISSUE
Banana stems fiber is one of the natural fibers. It can be recycled and biodegradable. In this study,
banana stem fiber was used as the main raw material to produce tissue. It can be biodegradable and
has no negative impact on the environment and thus can be categorized as an environmentally
friendly fiber. The Kraft process is a method where banana stem fibers are processed into pulp to get
pure cellulose and hemicellulose content. Concentration of cooking liquor solutions and cooking time
in this method used three different range to obtain the optimal value. Next, the samples are the best
compared to commercial tissues in terms of absorption and
strength. It was found that a sample of 12% concentration of
sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, and 120 minutes of
cooking time is better than the tissues in the market thus
reducing the dependence on wood as raw material to produce
tissue.
THE POTENTIAL OF SAGO STARCH AS A BIODEGRADABLE PLASTIC
The main purpose of this project is to investigate the potential of sago starch as natural
sources to produce biodegradable plastic and to optimize the process condition of the
starch plasticized with glycerol, and acetic acid and citric acid as co-plasticizer on the
mechanical and thermal properties of the biodegradable plastic. The project was carried out
by comparing the sample of sago starch based for biodegradable plastic by using Acetic Acid
and Citric Acid. To evaluate the plastic properties four test were performed which are Heat
Resistant, Water Solubility, Strength and Decomposability. The purpose of heat test is to
test the resistance of plastics to heat by putting the plastic in hot
water with different temperature (30°C, 60°C and 90°C). Next,
the sample of biodegradable plastic is soaking in 500ml water
and been observed to see the changes whether it is dissolved or
not. The strength test was carried out by using weight iron
(100g, 500g and 1000g) to test whether the biodegradable
plastic can support weight of an item.acceptable range (26.1-27.5 ° C).
THE STUDY OF HYDROXYAPATITE IN CLAMSHELL TO ENHANCE THE
QUALITY OF BRICKS
This study is to adding the hydroxyapatite in clamshell as an additive inside
concrete brick. The objective of this study is to determine that hydroxyapatite can
helps to produce better quality of concrete bricks, to produce unburned bricks
using clamshell (hydroxyapatite) as an addictive, help to reduce cost production of
bricks and environmental protection purposes, to manage the clamshell waste
disposal . The scope of research for this projects, the strength of the bricks and the
infiltration rate after adding Hydroxyapatite, comparison between burnt and
unburnt brick synthesis of calcium carbonate to calcium phosphate and the
characteristic of the shell. The scope of research is set to solve some problem such
as, concrete brick not always be readily accepted in some part in industry, so by
adding hydroxyapatite it will help to
expanding the range of use of concrete
brick, the higher cost of concrete bricks
production can be reduce by replacing
the limestone with hydroxyapatite and
there are a lot of waste clamshell that
can be found at the beach.
