HCA North Cypress: This week, we will begin to see and experience progress on our tower expansion. Site preparation is set to begin. This will include barrier fencing being erected around the plant, loading dock, and across the western portion of the physicians’ parking lot. This will create further challenges with our parking. Access to the physicians’ parking lot will be strictly enforced. The parking garage is now free and is open to our team so long as we park on the 4th floor or above which will help alleviate these challenges. In September, the entirety of the physicians’ parking lot will close. Temporary gated physician parking is being created in the front parking lot and the emergency valet lot to continue to provide our physicians easy access. This will be in place by September 1. This project will also disrupt our shuttle route beginning in September. Drop-off for the hospital will move to the Wound Center parking lot and breezeway. To help manage the long-term disruption, we are adding valet staffing to our front entrance and bringing back the golf cart shuttles for the front parking lot and for transport from the garage and between the medical office buildings. On Call Phone When to Use: For when there is no staff coverage and the following applies: • Utility Disruption/Failure: No water, power, medical gas, A/C (does not include hot/cold calls requesting changes < 5-degree difference). • Utility Emergency: Flooding (not including toilet overflows), fire Emergency Phone When to Use: If and when no one answers the 24/7 line and there is an immediate need. (immediate = water coming from the ceiling) Plant Ops (24/7 Line) When to Use: For high/immediate work orders, once a work order has been entered. During the hours of 7a-3p, there is typically someone who answers and delegate, as appropriate. 24 Great Catch Award A “Great Catch” is an event or circumstance that has the potential to cause harm to a patient but never reaches the patient due to the actions of a staff member. These type of events are encouraged to be reported by placing an event in Meditech. Each month, these are reviewed and one is chosen to receive the “Great Catch Award”. All staff members are responsible for patient safety standards but this award recognizes a staff member that demonstrates an exceptional commitment to patient safety.
