Letter from Jim Brown, CEO

Happy New Year! I hope that you had the opportunity to enjoy family and friends and to
get some much-needed rest over the holiday season. I suspect that we are all optimistic
about what lies in store in 2022.

While we’re all eager to put COVID behind us, here we are again starting the new year
managing another surge. As I am sure you have heard, the Omicron variant is suspected to

be less severe than prior strains, but seems to be more easily transmissible. Thus far, we have seen 3
more of our team directly impacted than in prior surges and are having to manage with critical staff
absences. Our COVID-related census is steadily rising and this week brought the highest daily change
that the Houston area has seen since the pandemic began. As I write this note, our hospital census has
surpassed 50 patients. Based on the characteristics of this strand and modeling that we’ve seen, we’re
hopeful that this surge will be shorter in duration than those experienced last year. While I’m grateful
for that prediction, this too will no doubt be very taxing on our team.

We have been blessed to receive RAC nursing and respiratory therapy staff to assist us with this surge.
Please know our chaplaincy team is on-site and available for you, your family, and our patients. HCA
also has various resources available to help you and your family. Please do not hesitate to ask my team
or me for help. We want to ensure you receive the support you need through these trying times.

As always, thank you for your hard work and dedication. I pray that easier times lie ahead.

STELLAR SHOUT-OUTS TO THESE EMPLOYEES!
HCA North Cypress Team Members!

Scheduling Team has received another fantastic patient compliment!

“Jasmen bent over backwards and worked her tail off to help get me in for my MRI. Unfortunately, I was not able to be
seen at your facility due to my pacemaker. Again she went out of her way to provide me the information needed for
me to be seen at another HCA facility. It is so great to see that there are still people in this world willing to be helpful.
She never once dismissed me because I had to go elsewhere. She is a complete rock star and a great asset to your
hospital.”

Thank you Jasmen, for your continued support to our patients and physicians. You are a truly a shining star! Great
job!!!!!

Sincerely,

Denise Havens, Manager, Business Development

nobody is ready for. I have to say that the treatment and care
I received was nothing less than great. Not only were my
doctors great, everyone I interacted with from registration,
scheduling and nursing, treated me with kindness and
compassion. This made it easier to go get treatments and do
what was needed to get healthier because when you walked
in you were treated like you were a friend instead of a
patient. Have all facets of treatment in one location has been
a great help also, not having to drive all over kingdom come
to get help saves time, money and sanity. Thank you HCA for
all y’all’s hard work and competence in helping me fight my
cancer and come out a winner.”

Welcome to a Better Way to Bank

As an HCA Healthcare colleague, you and your family now have access to an all-new credit union benefit offering the valuable
products, services and tools you need to enjoy a bright financial future — delivered by people who are committed to putting you
first.

As a not-for-profit, we're owned by our members. Everything we do is to serve people like you. That's why you'll find lower rates,
less fees (and no fees when possible), higher dividends and more innovative products and services than you'd get at many
financial institutions. Serving members in the United States and Puerto Rico, our purpose is to Empower People to Discover
Financial Freedom.

We’re here every step of the way. Our Life.Money.You.® Financial Well-Being program is all-inclusive with the Credit Union,
providing the financial health tools to help you along your journey, like a financial check-up, credit score monitoring with
SavvyMoney®, financial coaching with a certified expert Goal Consultant and more.

Ready to join? Begin by submitting a membership application. Once approved, we’ll make a one-time $1.00 deposit to your Regular
Savings account, making you both a member and part-owner of the Credit Union. You and your family can then start enjoying the
rewards of membership right away!

We look forward to being Here Today For Your Tomorrow. To learn more, visit: HCAHealthcareCU.org/Offers
