Happy Holidays North Cypress Family, I find this time between Thanksgiving and the holiday season to be a great opportunity to reflect on the blessings of life. I typically find that I am much more mindful about charity and service during this season. As an organization, we've created multiple opportunities to give and serve this holiday season. At present, we are hosting an angel tree benefiting members of our own work family as well as community families in need through Cypress Assistance Ministries. Soon we'll have the opportunity to volunteer in a large community toy drive also hosted by Cypress Assistance Ministries. Whether through us or on your own, I hope that each of us is able to give and serve this holiday season to honor the blessings in each of our own lives. I am pleased to announce that Elyse Dale RN-BSN, CPHQ, will serve as our new Patient Safety Manager. Elyse assumed this role on July 3rd. Elyse formally served as our Sepsis Coordinator. Elyse joined our HCA North Cypress family in 2021 as our Sepsis Coordinator and transitioned to our Patient Safety Manager in August of this year. Elyse started her healthcare career 13 years ago and has worked as a bedside nurse, nurse educator, and for the last 8 years in patient safety & quality. During her time here are HCA North Cypress, she has lead our Sepsis Program and delivered results- both reducing sepsis mortality and improving SEP-1 performance. Elyse has been married to her husband Jonathan for 11 years, together they have two children- Lucas (2) and Maxine (4 months). When not busy with the family, Elyse enjoys getting her hands dirty in the garden, going on walks with the dogs, and trying new restaurants. Please join me in congratulating Elyse and wishing her the very best as she moves into this exciting new role!
I am pleased to announce that Andrew Treadway has accepted the FSED Director position at HHH North Cypress. He officially joins our team on December 1st , 2023 Andrew joins us from SignatureCare Emergency Center- Copperfield, which is being acquired by HHH North Cypress on December 1st, 2023. Andrew has over 26 years of healthcare experience. He started his career in Alaska at Ft. Wainwright, where he served as an Army Medic. He has spent most of his career in the Emergency Room Department in Houston area hospitals. Andrew is a native Houstonian. He has four children, Joshua (17), Lois (15), Anthony (14) and Luke (12). In his free time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, and playing guitar. Please join me in welcoming Andrew and wishing him the very best as he moves into this exciting new role! North Cypress employees have a history of generously providing Christmas gifts to children in the community through Cypress Assistance Ministries (C.A.M). This year we will continue that tradition, but in addition, we will help our own employees who may have difficulty providing gifts for their children at Christmas. Angel ornaments have been placed on the Christmas tree in the Main Hospital Lobby. These ornaments will have the age and gender of the child and some ideas of what they are wishing for. There will be a table with a list of children needing gifts near the tree. Please write your name and ¾ ID next to the child you would like to provide a gift for and take that child’s ornament off the tree. Please hold on to the ornament you chose and attach it to your gift when dropped off. If you need assistance with Christmas gifts for your children, please complete an application from HR or from your Director and submit to Elise in Human Resources. HCA North Cypress employee applications must be submitted to HR by Tuesday, November 14th and gifts must be picked up by the same employee on Friday, December 15th . Employees seeking assistance will be kept confidential. Red angel gifts (HCA Employees) submitted to HR by December 5th . Green angel gifts (C.A.M.) submitted to HR by December 5th . HCA Employee Angel Tree Applications It is the goal of this program to allow our employees to assist you with Christmas gifts. It is not intended to provide families with all of their Christmas needs. 38 Great Catch Award Kenneth Cunningham Respiratory Therapist A “Great Catch” is an event or circumstance that has the potential to cause harm to a patient but never reaches the patient due to the actions of a staff member. These type of events are encouraged to be reported by placing an event in Meditech. Each month, these are reviewed and one is chosen to receive the “Great Catch Award”. All staff members are responsible for patient safety standards but this award recognizes a staff member that demonstrates an exceptional commitment to patient safety.
