I am excited that Maggie Yacoubian, MSN, will be joining us as CNO in
October. Maggie presently serves as CNO at HCA Tomball.

Prior to moving to Tomball in 2018, she worked as an ACNO,
Administrative Director of Critical Care, and Emergency Services
Director in HCA’s Nashville market.

. She and her husband Jack reside in Tomball and have three boys,
Reece (22) who is a student at University of Houston and Luke (18) and
Landon (18) who play football for Washington State University.

Chief Nursing Officer

HCA North Cypress Team:

I am pleased to announce that Maggie Yacoubian, MSN, has accepted the position as HCA Houston
Healthcare North Cypress’ Chief Nursing Officer. Maggie will be transitioning from HCA Houston
Healthcare Tomball where she has served as Chief Nursing Officer since December of 2018.

At HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, Maggie was successful in increasing staff engagement while reducing
nursing turnover. She elevated the facility to HCA’s top-performing decile in prevention of hospital-
acquired infections. Additionally, she helped improve physician engagement to the 90th percentile
nationally.

Prior to joining HCA’s Gulf Coast Division, Maggie worked in HCA’s Nashville market, TriStar. She served as
ACNO at TriStar Horizon Medical Center and Administrative Director of Critical Care and Director of
Emergency Services at TriStar Centennial Medical Center.

Maggie and her husband Jack have three children, Reece (22), Luke (18), and Landon (18). Reece is a
student at University of Houston and Luke and Landon play football for Washington State University. She
and Jack reside in Tomball. Maggie is originally from Olive Branch, MS.

Farewell Welcome

The East/IMCU team said goodbye last Beth Jaecks, RN Margaret Garcia, RN
month to our nurse manager, Tina Manager, Manager,
Nalbone. Tina and her husband found MS6 MS5
there dream home in Spokane,
Washington. Her husband is retiring and
they wanted to return to family after 14
years. While we were all very sad to see
her go, we wished her nothing but the best
in the next chapter of her life. I cannot say
enough about the great things she did for
our patients and our team. She carried us
through Covid working very long hours and
often providing front line care. Her support
of our teams was unshakable. We shed
many tears together for our teams and our
patients.

Tina was always a patient advocate first but acting as a cheerleader
for our staff ran a very close second. As one of our newer nurses put it
at Tina’s going away party, “I was still on orientation and I turned
around to see someone with a playful headband on and carrying
pom poms. Then I realized it was my BOSS!” Simply the best!

HCA North Cypress – Great Teamwork!

Just came from Cypress North Houston HCA Outpatient Imaging. What a fabulous experience. I don’t mind saying
I was a little nervous but everyone was so wonderful started out this morning early, 8:30, with Wendy who
scheduled me for an 11:45 scan. When I arrived Liz greeted me with the most beautiful smile and sensitive
nature. After filling out the forms, Carla came over to give me reassurance and reminded me to remove my
jewelry, so sweet. After a short wait, I was escorted to the back where Seema introduced herself and gave me a
warm blanket because I was very cold, and walked me through the process. She did the blood draw and then
took me into the scanning facility explained every step of the contrast procedure. It was so easy and comfortable.
Ellan came in to disconnect me from the IV, it was literally over before it stared She then gave me a bottle of
water. Made sure I was free from any after effect, and sent me on my way. A beautiful lady at the reception desk
let me use her counter as I was leaving to untangle my necklaces and we chatted and blessed each other for the
day. Everyone was wonderful, everyone was pleasant, knowledgeable, professional ,and very caring. Thank you
all!

A “Great Catch” is an event or circumstance that has the
potential to cause harm to a patient but never reaches the
patient due to the actions of a staff member. These type of
events are encouraged to be reported by placing an event in
Meditech. Each month, these are reviewed and one is
chosen to receive the “Great Catch Award”. All staff
members are responsible for patient safety standards but
this award recognizes a staff member that demonstrates an
exceptional commitment to patient safety.

Quality- World Patient Safety Day 2022

What is it?

World Patient Safety Day is one of WHO’s global public
health days. It was established in 2019. Its objectives are
to increase awareness and engagement, enhance global
understanding, and work towards global solidarity and
action by Member States to enhance patient safety and
reduce patient harm. This years focus is on Medication
Safety.
