2 About HCA Healthcare
Letter from Jim Brown, CEO
HCA North Cypress Family,
those I recently took the opportunity to select angels from our Angel Tree so that my family
could enjoy the gift of giving this holiday season. I found myself reflecting on the many
opportunities we’re given here at North Cypress to share our blessings and it occurred to
me that many of us might not have a full appreciation of what we do or with whom we
partner. Our current Angel Tree will serve at least 70 families this holiday season. Of
families, some have been identified through Cypress Assistance Ministries and others are
members of our North Cypress family.
Other similar efforts that we undertake throughout the year include a coat and clothing drive with CyHope, a
food drive with CyFair Helping Hands, and a Back to School drive with CyFalls High School, our adopted
schoo.l.
I’m thankful that we have these opportunities and appreciate you for supporting these efforts with our local
human service agencies and schools. I hope that that you have a blessed holiday season.

North Cypress employees have a history of generously providing Christmas gifts to children in the fti6712
community through Cypress Assistance Ministries (C.A.M). This year we will continue that
tradition, but in addition, we will help our own employees who may have difficulty providing
gifts for their children at Christmas.
Angel ornaments have been placed on the Christmas tree in the Main Hospital Lobby. These
ornaments will have the age and gender of the child and some ideas of what they are wishing
for. There will be a table with a list of children needing gifts near the tree. Please write your
name and ¾ ID next to the child you would like to provide a gift for and take that child’s
ornament off the tree. Please hold on to the ornament you chose and attach it to your gift when
dropped off.
If you need assistance with Christmas gifts for your children, please complete an application from
HR or from your Director and submit to Elise in Human Resources. HCA North Cypress employee
applications must be submitted to HR by Friday, November 12th and gifts must be picked up by
the same employee on Friday, December 17th. Employees seeking assistance will be kept
Donorsconfidential.
Red angel gifts (HCA Employees) submitted to HR by December 6th.
Green angel gifts (C.A.M.) submitted to HR by December 6th.
We ask that all gift donations are left unwrapped. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

I am so very excited to announce that Brittany Lollis has transitioned into the role of Vice President of
Operations. Her first day was Monday, November 21st – which was also her first day back from
maternity leave.
In this role, Brittany oversees Pharmacy, Retail Pharmacy, PBX, Scheduling, PT/OT/Speech/Sports
Medicine, Laboratory, Security, Valet, and the Chaplaincy program. Additionally, she serves alongside
me as the Ethics and Compliance Co-Officer for our campus.
Brittany began her leadership journey with HCA in September 2018 as the Director of Business
Development at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress. In this role, she served as the CEO’s chief of
staff and performed numerous roles, including oversight of various departments, led community
engagement and volunteer efforts, initiated customer service programs, instituted communication
platforms, handled marketing and advertising, and coordinated many other activities. Brittany has
excelled in her role and has been essential to the culture at our campus. She is collaborative,
passionate, and always exceed expectations. She is a great teammate and even better friend.
This past August, Brittany received her Masters of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University. Not
only did she graduate with a 4.0 and honors, she did it while pregnant with her second child. Brittany is
a proud mom of two – Lyla turns 3 years old in January and Lily is almost 3 months old!
Please join me in celebrating Brittany in her new role!

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR HCA NORTH CYPRESS TEAM MEMBER
Taylor Guadiz
ICU, RN
Family: No kiddos yet. I have two beautiful fur-babies, both red and white
basenjis, Buddy and Stella, and one younger brother, Hunter. My mom and
dad live in the Spring area but most of my extended family live on both the
East and West Coasts.
Favorite Color: Blue and green and any combination of the two.
Favorite Quote: I cannot pick just one!
“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you
are and change the ending.” C.S. Lewis
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot
drive out hate, only love can do that.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
Hobbies: Anything outdoors, especially if it involves my dogs! Hiking, biking,
walking, running, traveling, reading, horseback riding.
Interesting Fact: I grew up riding horses and competing. I professionally
trained and showed horses prior to being a RN. My mom is a horseback
riding instructor, and I rode for the Texas A&M Equestrian Team.
Favorite HCA Memory: Again, I cannot pick just one

A “Great Catch” is an event or circumstance that has the potential
to cause harm to a patient but never reaches the patient due to
the actions of a staff member. These type of events are
encouraged to be reported by placing an event in Meditech. Each
month, these are reviewed and one is chosen to receive the
“Great Catch Award”. All staff members are responsible for
patient safety standards but this award recognizes a staff member
that demonstrates an exceptional commitment to patient safety.
