path. After attending nursing school in Ohio, she and several
other nurses traveled together working at hospitals across the
Midwest, South, and West Coast. Her journey changed in San
Francisco, where she met William Wilson (d. 2016), who was
serving as an Army cartographer during the Korean War.

After marrying, Leah and William moved to
Concord, California, where their family grew to include
Barbara McGrane (Robert), Karen Hable (Pat), and James (d.
1991). Their youngest, Fred Wilson (Natalie), was born after
the family moved to Colorado, where they built their dream
